Also, I've only watched this one video of them together in this press junket but I love their dynamic. Jamie is kinda like a much older brother or parent figure, 3:49 he knew Taron was wrong the moment Taron started speaking but he lets him finish saying what he thought before gently correcting him. I love that

soooo... that isn't medieval slang... it's Elizibethan slang, which was after medieval times by 100 years or so (depending on which scholar you talk to).
You may scoff at that but language changes a lot in just a few decades let alone a century.
I'm real glad they didn't try to call this Old English lol that would be Beowulf in it's original form

Very true. Things changed a great deal during Elizabethan time period especially because of the great vowel shift. Most of these sayings can be found in Shakespeare and his contemporaries. I must admit that I knew most of these.
As a first year English Linguistics and Literature students this was the kind of comment I was hoping to find here...🤣👏🏻
