I was born in Mafeking Village, Mayaro. My father was a taxi-driver on the Mayaro/Sangre Grande route. I worked in Sangre Grande for some months after finishing secondary school. Although I went to school, worked, and am living in South for over 54 years, I am familiar with every metre of road you covered in this video.
I do not want to be a harbinger of bad things, but for this upcoming rainy season, the test of the repaired roadway will come. Unless water from the swamp can flow easily to the sea, we will be "spinning top in mud" !
Thanks for the trip !
Hello Ramish and thanks for sharing that! & you are quite right about the test from the rainy season! Thanks very much for your view and comment!
I remember Manzanilla from the 80's. We used to catch chip chip, curry it and have it with roti - delicious!! I miss those days, and the food of course. Love the channel. Your efforts really are apprecited, so thank you. ❤😊 Gavin. U.K.
Yes quite delicious! Thank you Gavin - appreciate the view👍 and the positive vibes in the feedback!

Thank you for this video, and the other videos before. I've been waiting for this update. I'm ready to return to visiting the east coast of the country. Good job, and keep them coming please...
Looks like in good shape now as we are still in the dry season. Let's see if the works will withstand mother nature🌎 in the rainy season! 🌧Thanks for the view & positive feedback - much appreciated
I thank you so very much for this update..and the beautiful music! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Our pleasure! Thanks for listening. Thank you also for viewing & commenting!
I must say that the road looks wider than before, I hope they continue with the restoration all the way to Mayaro as promised, also think that all 2 lane roads in the country should be upgraded like this
It's definitely wider. If you noticed a lot of vehicles🚙 overtook me and I was at the speed limit🕶. Let's hope people use the roads wisely!⚠
Manzanilla beach is so beautiful.
It definitely is - thanks for the feedback!
My favorite drive❤❤
It's really a beautiful drive, Susie!
This Manzanilla was before to after❤🎉
Hello Nathan - check the 2 links in the description to see how it was in the past. Thanks for the view & comment
@@eyes-ears-easy You welcome bro
In 10 years or so the road will wash out again. Its was supposed to build much higher or or properly tied with large rocks to slow the encroaching sea. This is a lost hope.
Hopefully the quality of engineering in this project took into account all the possible external shocks like you mentioned. It does look a bit low and I'm also worried about the drainoffs looks kinda tiny also. But time will tell.
Train away on the outside of the roadway should also be completed. So when the rain falls. where were the waterfall It must be done to keep water of the robbery. roadway. Those have quick duck or completed work is. is is is is what stops Trinidad from being whose path. was class.
Thanks for the feedback but not sure what you were trying to say- look like some words got mixed up there on the phone.
I know people who stutter when they speak but not when they write, this is rediculous😕
No, there's not completed you have. to put markings on the outside. I only and in the center lines. 10 unit completed. Then you know it is completed.
Thank you for the view and the feedback! Appreciate it
The rest of the way will be potholes and pothumps.
Hopefully not - seemed quite good atm. It has to pass a rainy season test though
Ramlal you’re always full of criticism eh, Ah wonder if it’s politically motivated? you’re all over the internet, seems like we can’t escape your bellyaching.
Manzanilla ==> Mayaro route is a DISASTER ZONE.
NO; signage, markings, lighting, speed limit, emergency shoulder, PLENTY POTTS HOLES, BUMPY ROAD, coconut/other trees, trunks hanging over road. Root cause for Floodings STILL NOT FIXED, many areas still under sea level
Thanks for the view & comment. Let's wait a bit and see the finished product & how the area stands up to the rainy season. Did a count of the solar lights a while back - about 50% were working but the video's quality wasn't good so I did not publish it.
