  • Quick video showing off the LEM and DA/SA triggers from HK. Overall I enjoy both of these triggers and personally prefer the DA/SA, what do you guys prefer? Let's talk about it down in the comments.

    I’m looking for a college graduation present for myself and I’m heavily leaning towards the P30L V3. It’s my first HK, I’m a Glock guy at heart, but this thing looks so badass. Thank you for this clear and concise explanation between the LEM and SADA.

      I don’t think he gave the full explanation of what the LEM trigger is the mechanics I’m talking about which is the V1. The LEM trigger is still a hammer fired pistol except that the single action has been removed in that sense and you just get a consistent double action pull everytime. The V3s are usually DA/SA and it’s the standard
      LEM just stands for law enforcement model. Now about the V1 and V3 typically the V1 are usually the LEM model and the V3 are the DA/SA but you can get the V3 with the LEM trigger and the V1 with the DA/SA.
      That’s how someone broke down the LEM trigger if you still don’t understand I take as a striker fired mechanism but hammer fired

      While LEM is technically double-action, because DA is traditionally and notoriously known for heavy trigger pulls. In reality, it is a pre-staged/half-cocked hammer spring to assist the hammer cocking of the double action trigger. Additionally, the space between trigger reset and “finding the wall” is intentionally not like a Glock or even a 1911. This intention is to give the shooter a chance to not shoot between each and every shot. While, fast and short breaking triggers are great for competitive shooting against paper targets, they are not ideal for tactical or defensive situations. If you have a chance to not shoot, it is less liability in the end. I know this will sound political, but the LEM was made for law enforcement agencies in countries where they strongly discourage unloading mag after mag in shootouts unlike the US, simply because the officers lack this discipline. The LEM trigger gives you all the advantages of shooting as fast as you want/can while also giving you a moment to reconsider.

      First, I suggest you proofread before posting.
      Second, HK varies the order of variants across different models. Doesn't make sense but they do it.

    I enjoyed your presentation and perspective. Personally in a high stress, adrenaline rushing, fine motor skills compromised situation I would not want to manipulate a trigger to "sit on a wall". That to me is far more risky than a full pull on a heavy DA trigger. My thought is train the DA trigger. But I also shoot a lot of revolvers which translates to easier transition to a DA/SA autoloader.

      The good thing about the H&K LEM (or Light LEM) trigger is that you don’t have to sit on the wall, you can lower the hammer - BUT with a lesser weighted trigger pull, you can regain that trigger squeeze back to the wall quickly and not throw your pistol sideways due to a heavy weight of a traditional DA trigger (if you are like me and shoot 1911’s/SAO firearms) 😬 Of course I understand training with your carry/home defensive weapon (so this is mainly referring the above info to that learned/trained individual(s) 😬😎).

    Interesting, I just got the HK45 LEM (V7), after firing my trigger reset is much much sooner, maybe just a little more than an 1/8”.

      The reset on the USP and HK45/45C model LEM has a shorter reset than the P30 series.

    Very nice presentation! I have a question about LEM version. How can I know that LEM is pre cocked to have light DA on it?

    • @esteve72
      @esteve72 Před 5 dny

      You have to rack the slide to get it into light DA mode. HK recommends not leaving it in that mode for over a year to preserve the mechanism. Just clear the chamber and dry fire it to release tension on the spring.

      Ohh... My meaning was do I have any indication that the gun is rocked, like VP9 has a red dot when it is cocked.

    • @esteve72
      @esteve72 Před 4 dny

      Both my P2000 and P2000SK have a red bar (live fire indicator) on the right side which protrudes slightly when there's a round in the chamber.

    • @TJHill-qx9hy

      The Gray Guns trigger mod allows you a shorter reset after you fire a round, plus the initial ‘take up’ of the trigger to the ‘wall’ has been lessened by the added spring change. I watched Colion Noir on YT with this mod, and he loves it.

      @@TJHill-qx9hy any indications that the mod can fail or shorten the gun's lifespan?

      @@HelwigDorsuo not that I can tell - the spring that goes to hold the Firing Pin Block is reduced - but it’s a quality spring. The piece that is replaced (I can’t remember the name 🤯), it’s also a quality piece, and the roll pin that is to be replaced is fine.
      I’ll put it this way - Gray Guns wouldn’t be selling these upgrades if they we not quality, or going to shorten the life of our firearms 😬
