I realized after editing that I never said which was my favorite. I think its pretty obvious, but the Redbreast 15 is my favorite this year!

Looking forward to try this. It’s on my list for the future. Also… Looking forward to March 😊I’m do prefer scotch, but I can’t ignore a good Irish, bourbon or other… Happy new year to you 🎆
You as well!
I tot I missed it and was going crazy lol
@stueyd I felt like such a Dummy
@@fotografi4fun I'm not much of a scotch drinker but I was gifted a bottle of Oban 18...wow! I was blown away
'Aged for 15 years, this Irish whiskey was called "Liquid Gold" by Jim Murray's Whisky Bible. It also won the Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2013.' - Caskers
I had Bushmills 12 in an advent calendar and was impressed! I'm hesitant to buy more in their range as prices go up, and the proof remains at 80. Still, I was pleased to find an Irish I liked. Cheers!
also I picked up a couple of bottles of Bushmills Red on a close out in NH....great value at $16... very drinkable
Loving this end of the year series 👍
I don’t have any hate for Irish whiskey. I think the only thing I don’t like about it is that it’s not bourbon 😅
Only seriously started exploring Irish whiskey last year but there are indeed some wonderful gems out there.
For this coming March, if you haven't already reviewed it, I highly recommend the Powers John's Lane 12 Year Old single pot still @ 46%. I live in your general area and this is available for about $60, a really good value, IMO. I know that they've just put out a cask strength version, but I'm not sure if it's available in the US yet, I have my eyes open for it.
I enjoy your channel and I hope you and yours have a wonderful new year! Sláinte!
I've slept on Powers whiskies for too long. I have a Three Swallow in the old packaging that I need to rebuy
Second the John's Lane and even better the Johns Lane Cask Strength!
I’ll second that- you must try John’s Lane! It is my most visited Irish and I’ve been through a few bottles.
Great List!!! The Bushmills 12 is a great addition to their lineup!
IDL didn’t so much scale back production as much as demand exploded. Took a while to get Lustau restocked. The Redbreast 21 is up to $350 here. They keep increasing prices.
We need to get you some of the Independent brands! They are releasing some great Irish Whiskey!
I have no complaints
I’ve never had any Irish whisky but when I do get one it’ll be a Redbreast.
The Green Spot Qualls Gate was my favorite Irish whiskey from this year. For $70, I just thought it was great. Cheers
I got that this year too. Haven't reviewed it yet. It cost me about 90
Redbreast 15 Year all the way! It's my all-time favorite Irish whiskey. I was extremely fortunate to find it for $99.99. Now, whenever I do find it, it is up to $130 to $150! 😢
Redbreast 15 is the sweet spot for me for the price and availability. If I’m gonna splurge I’d rather just got nuts and grab a 27. The bushmills age stated stuff is all pretty awesome. Def overpriced though lol
I like your Irish Whiskey reviews! But then I'm Irish and slightly biased
Redbreast 12 Cask Strength. You're welcome!
Well yea. I think that was my Irish of the year a couple years ago
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary The Blue Spot and Red Spot are amazing as well. Also a big fan of Powers "John's Lane". Really good!!
Have you tried the redbreast 27 yet? I agree with the sentiment that the 21 year old is not worth 3x the price of the 15… but the 27 is spectacular, worth the 600$
I have a small sample of it that I'm dying to drink
Keep doing Irish March!!! I agree Irish is too overlooked and there are some great things out there. Frankly Bushmills makes good stuff but other than the 12 it is over priced in my opinion. There are better things out there for less. Keep drinking Irish, Bill.
Buy a Macaloney's Kildara you wouldn't be disappointed. CAN.
I think I'm gonna sip on some Bushmills tonight
So which whiskey won?
I realized after the fact that I messed that up. Redbreast 15 was the best of the year
So you mention at the start of your video that Irish Whisky month in March is among your least viewed videos and I think I understand why now after watching this video. The issue: Price. The least expensive whiskey mentioned in this video is Bushmills 12 year which is $60 and 80 proof. The redbreast whisky’s seem to vary greatly in price in my area but are routinely at least $85 for the standard 12 year which is also only 80 proof. Most people aren’t purely Irish whisky drinkers and at the $60 price point and up it’s just hard to justify that much money for only 80 proof. The competition at those price points is pretty intense from bourbon, Canadian whiskey and scotch. Just my two cents, but love the video and Happy New Year!
Thats really good insight. Maybe ill focus on cheaper Irish this year
Writers tears, which isnt in the video but looks like it's in the thumbnail, is only 30 or 40 bucks and great
@@TheWhiskeyDictionarythanks man! Just wanted to offer some feedback, and I know you have done cheaper options in past years. I’ve tried Redbreast 12 and didn’t care for it, but then tried the Sexton and loved it. For $25 the Sexton is a stock it in my bar for an Irish.
@@GamerNxUSNthanks bud! Any others you recommend too?
@@davidschweibold256 it's the only I've really had. It's very pear forward for me. I will probably be picking up compass box orchard house next
Once it’s not Redbreast…. Oh wait
Hah! Their stuff is just that good
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary it’s not really. It’s almost generic Irish whiskey at this stage. So much better out there. You’re paying for the name.
@@astromanicdaveI was excited to get 2 bottles of Redbreast 12 CS. Both Yellow Spot and Powers Johns Lane beat it by a lot in a blind taste. Me and 3 of my friends all put it in last place.
@@utoobia totally agree.
