Maintained/ overhauled and operated GMWA-10 Cooper Bessemers for many years until they were retired & scrapped because of obsolescence. Extremely reliable low flow high head compression units but when multiple pipelines became the norm, centrifugal compressors took over due to higher horsepower and flow capabilities
I worked on coopers, cats, Clarks, Frame 3 GE Turbines, Solar, Waukesha, Ingersoll Rand, Superior, Worthington and believe it or not a Delaval for 37 years. Not many can say they worked on a Delaval because I think there were only 4 made and they were a piece of junk. That's why they are no longer around. I would still be working on these engines today if not for injuring my back working on a high speed cat with superior compressors. I've seen a lot of changes in the natural gas compression business. Slow speed Cooper engines are some of the best if not the best.
U got me beat by some I thought I was missing out on working on them but I don’t, retired now enjoying my self

I hope to someday be able to experience working on one of these giants. The only giants I've ever worked on where 3612 cats
Nice
I work for cooper seen and worked on many of these
Wow, it's so smooth and quiet! XD
I wonder why they never developed this design for stationary power generation?
