My theory is that roger told shanks to find the person that joyboy is waiting for (which is luffy) and entrusted him with hito hito no mi nika and the straw hat, the hat was supposed to be a sign for both crocus and rayleigh that waits at the entrance where every pirates will go through, and they saw luffy with the hat and knew that this kid is the person that shanks picked and need to help guide luffy to make it to the laugh tale

I'm looking forward to the eventual duel between Ussop and Yassop. I can imagine Yassop pulling a "super run away" move right when they are about to draw on each other, leaving Ussop momentarily confused. Then a sniper battle for the ages commences full of gimmicks from both participants. Maybe a cameo by Sogeking. Then again, I was hoping for a Brook vs Apoo fight during Wano and that didn't happen.
Apoo and Brooks having a rock-off would've been awesome.

It would be more fitting if Yasopp's skills as a sniper turned out to be just talk. I feel it would be a better conclusion to Usopp's story if he realized his dad was just a braggart bozo, and Usopp himself was the true brave warrior of the sea all along.

Well when you really think about it shanks might be evil, just not to luffy. He is a yonko at least on the level of kaido, he has his territories like all other yonkos, he cut off kidd’s arm without hesitation and his crew member is literally the first person to kill someone in the story.
I don't think he's going to be a villian. I think he IS scheming something related to the ponegliffs and weapons of mass destruction, but I also think that he's going to test Luffy to see if he's mature enough to really be the "liberator of slaves" given that he's already the beholder of the power of Nika.

To hear that Shanks sacrificed an arm and passed on the straw hat to Luffy just because he knew he was the chosen one is kind of disappointing though. Always thought that the act of Shanks sacrificing so much just because of his admiration/love for Luffy relationship-wise was way cooler.
Why cant it be both? Shanks clearly like the kid, and I have no doubt that he would let Luffy join his crew when the time came at the very least even without the Nika fruit, though Luffy would probably still go out and form his own crew. Having the Nika fruit choose Luffy definitely holds a lot weight, proving his character and allowing shanks to take more extreme measures. There's no way the dudes gonna sacrifice his arm for a snot nose brat who likes adventure alone, that doesn't mean he hates him at all, just not worth intentionally loosing an arm over. if all the same events played out and Luffy didn't eat the fruit, shanks would probably just easily kill the sea monster not needing to sacrifice his arm and still inspiring Luffy, it was most likely an intentional play to sacrifice his arm.

I expect a Davy Back fight between the Straw Hats and the red hair pirates. Both crews like to party and it would be nice to see a proper Davy Back fight. If Shanks has the last Road ponyglyph that would be a good reason to agree with the Davy Back fight. Since both parties have someone/something they need from each other the fight would not feel forced and pretty intense. Although Oda wil probably have Luffy agree immediatly since that's just Luffy. Afterward he can still have Blackbeard intervene and have the Red Hair Pirates protect the Straw Hat pirates so they can move towards Laugh Tale. Then on Laugh Tale we get the Blackbeard vs Straw hats fight. The Straw hats win and go on fullfilling the prophecy of Joyboy, meanwhile Buggy arrives late and gets all the credit for defeating Blackbeard and finding Laugh Tale and becomes Pirate King.

I dont think shanks got the gomu gomu fruit for himself at all. The main theory going around was that shanks was betting on Ace being the next potential joyboy and was going to entrust the fruit to him but luffy got it first.

What about the other rooms in Im's freezer it is pretty clearly that there is more than just that one room that holds the straw hat. Could each room hold a symbol of a light that was extinguished in history or the crew of JB.

With shanks crew's reaction to luffy being a great pirate and wanting them to see Luffy means that shanks is not a villain. A Captain will never keep a secret to his crew. Maybe there are things in life that you will keep as a secret but not this one. Red hair pirates will be surprised if their captain told them to kill luffy. And also, shanks crew will never want to see luffy because shanks told them that they will kill luffy in the future.

I agree about subverting expectations, I like my stories to have plots and foreshadowing that actually matter. I am fine with some expectations being subverted, but only if it had a possibility due to some small clues. Subverting expectations just to subvert them is bad storytelling.

Yo, the Red Haired Pirates are likely going to be the FIRST all round emperor level crew we see in the series. Whitebeard only truly had Marco and maybe Jozu as top tiers. Big Mom only had Katakuri. Kaido had.... King? Who barely used any haki... and Luffy has Zoro (who is still struggling with Enma) and Sanji (who is still not fully in control of his germa side) plus the Strawhats on a whole do have a lot of room to grow in either haki or devil fruit usage. So seriously, Shanks crew will be the first crew (or 2nd if the BBP shine before them) we see in the series that's a well oiled machine. Combat-wise. If none of the officers have devil fruits, they gotta have some crazy level of haki, durability and endurance. Lime Juice is currently my favorite member outside of Shanks. Dude seems like a total badass. Can't wait for their arc.
I‘m sorry but WB also had Vista and Ace and Oden for a while. Luffy has Yamato now. Not to mention that the Big Mom pirates are the strongest crew we have ever seen in the manga. The beast pirates were are joke

@@rinmartell2678 I like Ace. He's one of my top 5 favorite characters but Ace is most certainly NOT a top tier fighter in the grand scheme of things. Top tiers are anyone at 1st commander level and above. Ace is losing to every 1st commander, admiral and emperor that I can think of. Maybe with the exception of Buggy. Assuming Buggy hasn't gotten stronger. But he's comic relief either way. Whitebeard's crew was not a well rounded crew. When WB was in his prime, who else was a top tier fighter? Oden? And then when Whitebeard got old who else? Only Marco. I'm being generous in even mentioning Jozu who got oneshot after foolishly getting distracted in a war. Vista we can't really say for sure because Mihawk was clearly chilling when they clashed in the war. So its really just Marco from that crew in the present storyline that's legit. And yeah Big Mom only had Katakuri. I suspect Smoothie might be powerful too but she lacks much screen time to prove it. And we've seen enough of that crew to know that there's really no one else on Katakuri's level.
In other words I'm expecting the RHP to have multiple people at that 1st commander tier and above. Beckman and Lucky Rou are probably even admiral tier. And if this eventually turns out to be true, it would be another masterful foreshadowing by Oda. Imagine if Shanks showed up at Marineford and the guys around him were instead King, Queen, Jack, Who's Who and Sasaki. 😂 Or Perospero, Montdor and Snack. The war would have never stopped.
I love the idea of the clash just to prepare the strawhats for the final fight. I could also imagine that they first lose to the blackbeard crew and than after overcoming their limits in the clash with with redhair pirats are able to beat them.

I agree that Shanks definitely has set up Luffy for this very moment ever since he accidentally ate the devil fruit, but I believe that he has not done so for Luffy to be the pirate king but for himself. He knows that the awakening of this fruit is the trigger but I believe that he doesn't see Luffy as chosen but rather as said trigger and that he himself will carry out this world changing event. He definitely sees Luffy in a different way than lets say Rayleigh or Crocus.
TLDR; Shanks knows what the awakening of this DF means but see's Luffy not as the runner up but rather as the gun shot to start the race.
We have also already seen oda turn what would normally be a fight to the death into a contest because of past events. When usopp duels daddy the father. Once he learns who usopp is he changes it from a duel into a contest to shoot a weather vein off in the distance. So the idea of shanks and luffy meeting and having a Davy back fight is really likely but I personally think luffy is gonna be the one to shock everyone by announcing he wants to have a Davy back fight with shanks

Shanks test for Luffy he is going to test his resolve to protect his friends even if its from friends by retaliating against Barto. for what he’s been doing their territory. Which would call for Luffy to retaliate against shanks and their reunion is a face off between their crews. Just a thought
Luffy's conqueror haki will bloom above garp/roger/Rayleigh tier after he clashes with shanks. Luffy will realise that his df is not enough to conquer the sea in his fight against shanks and will bloom his conqueror haki to the final stage and defeat shanks that will be his final power up.
Are you saying that shanks is stronger than the strongest creature in the world? If luffy fought toe to toe with kaido. He can definitely hold his ground against shanks. I know shanks haki is strong but let's not forget that kaido's haki is strong as well plus his DF which also makes his skin stronger.

Kaido lost to scabbards+zoro+yamato+law+kid+killer and luffy(luffy did majority of the damage to the kaido who was at his 70-80%) while luffy got to rest soo many time and even got recovered by eating tons of meat while kaido fought em all non stop. Do a rematch of kaido(who had rest and now is at his 100%) vs luffy(who is also at his 100%) and let me tell ya luffy would lose again. Luffy got a massive buff with his awakening but kaido still was holding his own against him despite being tired as fuck. He even was holding the entire onigashima while fighting. And i strongly believe shanks is near kaido's level. Kaido had Normal haki(not roger, Rayleigh,shanks tier) + an overpowered df that's how he was able to hold the title of the strongest creature. Whereas shanks doesn't have a df+ single arm and he gained the title how yonko with his haki alone. Kaido was telling luffy in their g5 luffy vs kaido fight that your devil fruit may be strong but df is not enough for you to conquer the sea. The sea can only be conqueror to haki alone just like Roger did. And in terms of luffy he has haki weaker than kaido but he had the df advantage to even the odds + kaido was wearing down and that's how luffy managed to beat kaido. Ain't no way current luffy winning against 100% kaido or shanks so i truly believe shanks would give luffy the final push to reach the same level as Blackbeard/akainu. Luffy already has a df which is ridiculously strong and after his fight with shanks luffy would truly bloom his haki to shanks/roger/Rayleigh/garp tier and that's how he'll surpass roger
the final powerup might just be Luffy slowly adjusting to his awakening & more ways to manipulate conq.haki maybe

But fighting toe to toe with Blackbeard and defeating him are two different things. Luffy will have to struggle against Blackbeard and during his fight he'll learn how to manipulate his df and that'll be how he'll defeat Blackbeard imo

I think you forgot Kid, there are multiple parallels, Oda said Kid reason for being to determined to beat Shanks isn't related to losing his arm, and he always had big plans of Kid and we've only seen the surface, Kid's first New World arc was Wano, and its only going up from here, this final saga has a lot to show us about Shanks but also Kid, who could be tied to many other important characters and it would be a fitting conclusion to Kid's story to defeat his primary target, Shanks, and replace him as an emperor while Luffy becomes King and with the defeat of Teach, that leaves 2 spots open for Law and another wild card character Oda will use to blow our minds

I feel that Shanks is gonna be like our Itachi were in Oda Sensei is trying to make us feel and also Luffy believe that Shanks is an enemy which he has to fight for reasons which we r yet to know. I feel this is important for the Luffy to fight at full power. And in the end Shanks will reveal that he did what he did to make Luffy stronger pushing him to the next level and will give Luffy his blessings.

Just remember the hints to Shanks meeting Luffy can also be set up for tragedy. The hard part to perceive is Luffy giving up the hat before becoming PK, but the meeting would feel incomplete if Shanks doesn't take the hat.
So the likelihood of the meeting not taking place is there. Oda doesn't typically write tragedy but he has set it up pretty nicely for it to occur if he wants it to.
BB isn't on Luffy's hit list and there is very little that can motivate Luffy to go beyond his limits to defeat BB. Luffy and Shanks can meet and then Shanks go down, but it does also work that the BB and Shanks clash happens before / Shanks needs to have something go wrong with his plans or the long-term planning will feel a little. . . too weird considering he's a silly character.

Isn't it strange that at the three (currently) most critical points there was a Roger's pirate? Shanks was there when Luffy got the DF and gave him the hat at the beginning. Crocus was at the end of the first part of the grand line, where they received the first log post that would allow them to get to not only Fishman island but also throughout the rest of the grand line. Then Silvers rayleigh who coated their ship, but later trained Luffy in his emerging haki abilities. Each point is a gate, that was kept by a Rogers Pirate. Not sure how many gates are left, but the final gate is the fated meeting of The Red Haired Pirates, vs The Straw hats

Shanks is simultaneously the best and only example of a Schrödinger’s Villain.
Buggy being a clown has more significance than we think. Clowns are people who are suppose to bring laughter. And laughter is a huge theme in one piece. The final island is laught tale after all.
It's crazy how the thought of the straw hats facing the red hair crew is WAY scarier than them facing big mom or kaido because the red hair are not just big oversized monsters to be toppled. They're highly skilled characters who have toppled giants of their own just like the straw hats.
I mean how else can Luffy prove he has a superior pirate crew like he had said in chapter 1, so if they don't fight how can Luffy prove his crew is greater. I also think that Shanks is leading Luffy, leading him to what Roger said they had to wait for, and I think this is what Roger had said as a final thing to Shanks, leading him to lead Joy Boy (who he had to make sure had awoken) to Laugh Tale.
Davy Back fight makes a lot of sense especially with Oda being the way he is, enjoys things not being super serious all the time

I disagree.... oda already said he is in the end game. but there is still all the celestial dragons, the admirals, the 5 gorsei, black beard and imu..... putting such a twist and making a new enemy just doesn't make sense for wrapping up the story now. not to mention shanks have been shown to have good intentions like warning white beard and drinking with Mihawk. plus his crew really seemed excited seeing luffy.... not to mention luffy has made friends/allies of all factions. villagers, sky people, shandorans, minks, fishmen, tocota people, royalties, marines, the worst generations, warlords, admirals and the revolutionary army.... only allies he haven't formally achieved is yonko and celestial dragons..... I don't see him clashing against shanks at all. I think shanks go against the new antagonist for the albaf arc or black bead... oda would have to have an arc for, albaf, shanks, black beard and the final battle for the red line with imu and the marines.... I bet that they don't fight maybe a friendly battle of haki but nothing serious. like whiteboard and Roger.
My theory: How is that the ancient kingdom was defeated by just an alliance of 20 kings? If they were really that strong how did these 20 kings defeated them?
I believe that the ancient had only 4 devil fruit eaters while those 20 kings and their armies were all infact devil fruits eaters and only because of their unmatched abilities the ancient kingdom was defeated.
The four gods introduced in the Skypiea Arc were the true gods and the only people with devil fruit powers in the ancient kingdom but even with the power of those god fruits they eventually got defeated by a huge army of devil fruit eaters.
And what if the one who made those 20 kings came into an alliance was one of Joyboy's confident who wanted to rule the world rather than being just a second rate. So that person decided to overthrow the ancient kingdom using the powers of these devil fruits.
I mean these powerful fruits are called Devil Fruits and devils are the enemy of gods in the mythology and that these devil fruits powers were infact the reason behind the fall of the ancient kingdom and the one made the fall of this powerful nation was someone from the inside. I believe that Imu was that person and has been living for the past 800 years, all thanks to ope ope no mi immortal surgery.
And the devil fruit that Imu possess is Hito Hito no mi Model Devil. I mean there are devil fruits with mythology based fruits and devil are one of being that exist in every culture's history. So why an actual Devil based devil fruits. Since, devils are known as enemy of gods and Joyboy being the god like being to the ancient kingdom. And also the fact that devils are known to be amazing manipulators who likes to control things from the shadows just like Imu rules the world government and nobody is aware of him/her existence.

Have we Ever considered that Buggy and Shanks have been working together since before Marineford? When they met again im pretty sure Shanks helped Buggy with status and in return Buggy would be keeping a direct eye on Luffy, this is why they were both in Impel Down (Luffy and Buggy), and how after everything Buggy somehow manages to be one of the top dogs in the end. Never using his power for fighting but more avoiding. My last little note is the fact that we don't know who shanks was talking about with the Gorosei so its safe to assume Buggy is possible.

This time, I am going to talk about that potential storyline I have in mind and I believe is about to happen. In other words the “Straw Hat Pirates vs the Red Haired Pirates”.
For quite a while the story has entered the Yonko Saga. In this saga, the Straw Hats have finally begun dealing with the Yonko one way or another. We have seen them dealing with Big Mom, they are about to face Kaidou and later on they will battle against the Blackbeard Pirates, who have been set up as a main antagonist group. However, there is a question… What about the Red Haired Pirates?
The set-up and the theory
In my opinion, this story is well-thought by Oda and it has already been set up. First of all, as always, the theory begins with my general idea that nothing in the world of One Piece has been set up for no reason. This made me think a couple of things regarding the promise between Luffy and Shanks and how they would face each other. The majority of the community, from what I have seen, believe that the two of them will never battle against each other because Shanks will probably meet his demise at the hands of Blackbeard (something I don’t really doubt for reasons I am about to explain below). However, my idea of how the story will unfold is quite different and it starts with the promise that Luffy would return his trademark straw hat to Shanks when he would become a well-known pirate.
So, for me, the story goes like this: When Luffy and his alliance deal with Kaidou and officially overthrow a Yonko with their strength, Luffy will be recognized as a well-known pirate and thus it will be time for him to fulfill his promise to Shanks. As a result, I believe Shanks will go after Luffy and try to take the Straw Hat back. But this raises many questions. How can Luffy live up to his name as “Straw Hat Luffy” without his straw hat?

And here is where Oda’s talent in setting up storylines is clearly visible. There is a way that Luffy can claim his straw hat back without ending up in bad terms with the Red Haired Pirates. It is a way that has been shown in an arc long ago, an arc that looked like a filler arc, but in reality it is canon: The Davy Back Fight.
Oda set up the Davy Back Fight in order to introduce us to the way Luffy was about to get his Straw Hat back. The Davy Back Fight arc against Foxy, is the only arc up until now that offered nothing to the storyline. Foxy is absent as a character, same for his crew. He was only reused in filler arcs in the One Piece anime and he was never mentioned in the manga, even after the timeskip. Every single arc of One Piece has offered something to the reader for later on. Except from that arc. So my general idea is that the filler-esque characters of Foxy, Hamburg, etc were nothing more than means to the introduction of the Davy Back Fight, which would be used in the future for the blood-less battle between Luffy and Shanks. If that arc hadn’t taken place, the readers wouldn’t really know what was going on and the arc would need a lot of explanation, which now doesn’t.

My theory is Shanks dad was Rocks and his mom was a popular celestial dragon who was suppose to be wed to someone else. The celestial dragon who shanks mom was suppose to wed to tho ended up killing her after birth for having an affair with a rocks on top of that a D member, shanks was caste out as a baby. rocks went on a revenge mission at Gods valley ready to kill slaves civilians and celestial dragons at all cost to give his son the throne which caused Garp and Gol D to team up and stop him.

Shanks is very much a jolly and goofy guy, but it's just that he is ALSO very calculating and planning his actions. I'd say Shanks enjoys his freedom after Rogers image but he knows how serious situations can become as well as he probably knows his role in the world.

Hey its weird we talk about the last saga like last arc there are soooooo many preparations, in my opinion this last saga will contain tons and TONS of arcs we are forgetting sooo many facts like strawh. Getting thier devil fruit thier will be a whole big fat arc for it as every strawhat is very important and have so many episodes dedicated upon them so in conclusion they will stretch 50 - 70 or maybe more chapters on strawhats getting df, or maybe this may end during blackbeard's arc for training they will be introduced to df... i think. ALSO no one said that this saga ended! It is 4 yonko saga no 2 yonko saga so maybe shanks and blackbeard will be covered in the same arc and Last saga's arcs will likely be based on world government, imu, joyboy, sun god nika etc etc
