I remember my Dad getting drawn into attending a church(?) (Scientology) session by his GF at the time. Naturally he dragged me along. Afterwards he asked me what I thought. I think he must have suspected "resistance" from me. I gave him a bewildered look and told him I wasn't really interested. (And I loved science ... and fringe science ... and science fiction.)
    We never went again.

At the suggestion that their may have been some indefinite harm done to the baby that led to its death, the doctor implicitly rejects the idea, saying, "Detective, Lucas (the baby) died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, just like it says on the death certificate--signed by the medical examiner."
No doctor in the world would say that. SIDS is a mystery phenomenon. It would be like saying, "We don't know what caused the baby's death, therefore it can't be what you are suggesting."

@Dave Privacy its a long story, but trust me, its funny and related. Just need some pretext. I grew up next to a famous paleontological dig site in Montana called makoshika (its also a state park). I lived by a few very famous museums. One was famous for having fossils on display while they got them prepared for other museums, like the Smithsonian. Fun fact, i actually got to see the nanotyrannus fossils the same year they found it. Id have to look into if they actually found out if it was or was not a tyrannosaurus. Thats neither here nor there though, im just being a nerd. There was another, who's primary focus was paleontology, Native American history, and why dinosaurs are only a few thousand to even a couple hundred years old. You see, what made this museum overshadow the makoshika museum, was the fact it was owned by somebody claiming dinosaurs had lived along side cowboys. Our school took a feildtrip there. Me, being the ignorant 11 year old that I was, asked why they claimed dinosaur were only a couple hundred years old. They literally said I was just stupid because of my age (keep in mind, i was 11, and my memory of that specific part is a bit blurry, so please take that part with a grain of salt.). They tried to teach me privately why they arent that old, so i had to stay behind for a couple minutes. I asked if our bones don't turn into rocks within a few thousand years, why do theirs? Its important to note, i was just a kid, and was asking out of genuine curiosity, not spite. She just huffed and let me go back to the rest of my class. An 11 year old kid outsmarted most of the middle-aged people working in that museum, and wasn't even trying to. I had learned the alphabet only 4 years prior to that. When thinking back on that day, I genuinely loose faith in humanity. I know our educational system has its problems, but it's not bad enough to justify that.

Unfortunately I've been touched by suicide more times that I'll admit & it's not fair most happened when I was in 6th or younger grades, then again in 9th & 10th, them 11th. It causes idealization since you may not have thought of it as an option but so many adults I looked up to & respected used it so being a kid how could you not wonder if they were grown unable to get through what the heck makes people think I can as a child with fewer options of change with my environment..... Suicide really is 'contagious'....

There ought to be a Law & Order channel because there's definitely enough material for one. But it seems like whenever I find it, its always that stupid Jeremy Sisto. You're always going to have your divided camps with their favourites. I've got mine. Jeremy Sisto and his voice are just aggravating. I love the Chris Noth, Jerry Orbach Jesse L Martin ones the best. And WEtv with all their stupid ghetto trash hip hop tv gets on my nerves! Forgot about Dennis Farina, way too short-lived on this show!

Novelist Sophia Cameron is found dead in an apparent suicide. Her husband believes that a controversial church called Systemotics was responsible. He claims that Systemotics has deliberately sabotaged the Camerons' careers in order to promote Hollywood actress Kate Westwood, a church member who was Sophia's close friend. Sophia planned to go to the police with her suspicions that Systemotics was involved in the death of Westwood's baby, so Mr. Cameron insists they had her killed. Complications emerge when Cameron jumps from a hotel balcony in an effort to frame Systemotics' leader for pushing him, and new evidence shows Sophia's "suicide" was staged.
Lupo and Bernard discover that Cameron has been faking his alibi, and that Sophia had planned to leave him before she was killed. He is arrested for her murder. When Systemotics representatives attend the trial, Westwood refuses to testify and the court is adjourned. Cameron's lawyer portrays Systemotics as a sinister cult, and highlights its obsessively keeping tabs on anyone who might pose a threat to the church, which included Sophia Cameron. The jurors are so intimidated that they refuse to deliberate, and the judge wants to request a mistrial. Cutter uses Cameron's paranoia to lure him into accepting a plea - convincing him that the judge, jurors, and all the DAs are members of Systemotics. Cameron confesses he did kill his wife, since he believed Systemotics had brainwashed her. He accepts fifteen years for murder.
