- MAPPA fixed it! The Sukuna vs Mahoraga Blu Ray fight adds so much to an already amazing fight. With all new animation for the Blu-Ray release, MAPPA has made changes, added more details, revamped colors, removed ghosting and dimming, added particles, and even animated over 2 more minutes of fighting animation for this epic clash. In my opinion, this cements the Sukuna vs. Mahoraga fight as one of the greatest anime battles of all time!

Oh, and it did occur to me while editing this video that there was a lot of conditioning in the fight where Itadori and Todo take on Hanami. Can you think of any other anime fights where you've seen that happen? There's got to be more out there...
I’d honestly thought the TV version of this fight had been incredible when I’d seen it, but after seeing the quality of the finished version, I’m so glad this fight got to be shown in all its glory! Thanks for featuring this here!
Oh, and the explanation of conditioning was great, as I do love mind games in fights in general, so it’s awesome to see in anime, too!
Have a good day, Drew!
Yes, the initial fight was awesome, but it's cool to see it in its more completed state, haha. Glad you enjoyed it, Henry, and thanks for watching!
@@DrewMalou Definitely--it's amazing to see the fight, as originally intended! Thanks again, and looking forward to talking to you again in the future!
I adore how much they go off model, makes the fight feel so fluid and chaotic
This feels like the first Nomu vs All Might fight but more chaotic and unhinged
That's a great comparison!! It definitely does. Haha, thanks for watching!
Funny, bc that was the first Hakuyu Go episode, of you don't know, back then an animator named Hakuyu go gathered some animators and directed that Mha episode, that same guy nowadays gathered more talented animator's over the year's and the made episodes like, well, this episode where he's credited as one of the directors.
@@itapproaches3484 yoooo thanks for sharing, didn't know this. that's cool af
Honestly, the non blu ray fight confused the hell out of me. The blu-ray connected the fight and gave me an understanding of what was going on. Bro, I was glued to the blu-ray
ME TOO!! Yeah, the original fight had some pretty big confusing cuts that didn't make much sense. Cool to see that they fixed those issues, though!
If the blu ray version came out instead of the tv version, the fight would be more hype
That's so true! I feel like all the controversy that came with that episode in particular helped make it more popular, if that makes sense. Just more popular for the wrong reasons, lol.
MAPPA learning to treat their employees like human beings? Yeah, wouldn't that be nice?
LOL, one can only hope!
Where am i able to watch the full episode, all the anime sites dont have the blue ray
I was able to find lower quality versions of it posted on twitter, but you can buy the physical blu ray from ebay, or actual japanese stores, if you want a copy for yourself!
😢where can i see it 😭😭😭
I have seen people posting it to twitter, but I think by now you could probably find the full fight on CZcams. Or if you want a physical copy for yourself, you can get yours here: www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/TBR-33205D
@@DrewMalou tnx
There is absolutely no way you just said conditioning in a fight is a new concept here.. Sasuke vs Danzo, Luffy vs Katakuri.... basically any fight where one combatant has an abstract, hard to figure out ability. most of Hxh.... I see what you're saying though. It takes a very literal form here. great video btw.
Haha, yes, I meant it in the literal sense! I would consider fighters figuring out what their opponent's abilities are as something entirely different (like Sasuke vs Danzo). But in terms of mind games and making enemies second guess whether or not fighters will or won't use their moves, I think that's far more rare. One example I thought of outside of this fight was from JJK season 1 where Todo and Itadori fight Hanami. Those Boogie-Woogie teleportation claps were great for mind games. Todo could teleport Itadori, Hanami, non-organic objects, or even choose not to teleport anything and just clap, lol. Those mind-games were more what I was referring to, and I couldn't think of very many examples. But yeah, I should have clarified that a little more, for sure. Thank you, and thanks for the feedback!
why not make a video on in depth game design on anime games, its rarely talked about just like impact frames. (ofcourse depends if you have the time and energy for it 🙏)
That's a great idea! However, my Patrons vote on the ideas they want me to make videos about, so I'm at the mercy of their choosing, haha.
@@DrewMalou bet
DrewMalou video amen 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Haha, thank you for watching! 😊😊😊
Ignacio
Ignacio, indeed.
There is literally no difference. Still looks terrible wtf
My guess is that it was designed to look chaotic like that, or that they only added and fixed a few crucial scenes. I don't think it looks terrible, but it is definitely different than a lot of the other JJK fights have been.
tell me you know nothing about animation without telling me:
@@hirochi0362 You don't need to be an animation expert to see that it's trash 🤓
@Mixalich27 I don't need to be an expert to see that you are stupid either. lol
