I feel like this is proof that cats domesticated us, rather than the other way round, because we basically haven’t done anything to them, selective breeding-wise.
These small wild cats (like the African wildcat, that is the domestic cat’s direct ancestor) are literally just cats.
Cat: “I’ll chase away your rodents, in exchange for food, pets, and love (at my discretion).”
Human: “Okay, you adorable little murderous fluffball.”

Can we talk about how brave tiny mama was? When you are that small, you have to be afraid of everything. But she kept coming back until she had rescued her babies from the Godzilla sized hairless monster apes. If that's not love I don't know what is.

If you ever want to get a cat, there are some with doglike personalities! MaineCoon, Bengal, etc. - very smart & up for hikes, etc. I'm a cat person but my parents got us a dog -- turned out she had a very catlike personality and we got along just fine 😅
@@bobbynicole10 Those are good breeds but instead you should save a life and adopt. The best cats and other pets are ones you get from shelters or from the street, because they are thankful, it is really evident in rescued cats. Funny story about your dog though!

Imagine being a lone parent and knowing you could only carry one child at a time to their home... How scary is that in of itself.... But my gosh the cuteness level of all 3 is off the charts.... I missed (I think) what species they are, besides "cat", but only 3 pounds fully grown??? Dang!!! So beautiful... And how did the rescuers find out they were there??? Thank goodness they did and helped, as little as possible, but enough to just give mama and babies the boost they needed.... Would love to know where this is, and what that species of cat is... All 3 are so precious!!
They are called rusty-spotted cats (Prionailurus rubiginosus) :)

apparently, rusty spotted cats are only found in south asia-india, nepal, sri lanka.
@@chrisshimizu308 After I wrote what I did, I looked them up online. What I found out was REALLY REALLY AMAZING. I love ALL PUSSYCATS, THEY'RE REALLY SWEET. I love stroking and cuddling them. The wild ones are really amazing, they can adapt to so many different situations.

There is a special place in heaven for animal rescuers like them. (I have some stray cats in my garage too, they come, they go, I do not even name all of them --- I must have had 10-12 at a time, they just come for food and water)
How wonderful of you to care for them like that! Have you looked into the TNR program though? It would help the strays, yourself, and your community out in the long run as well.
@@dreeemer I am sorry, I don't know what TNR program is (I live in the Philippines, we don't have programs for strays because we are a poor country), I just do the best I can. I also just feed them, I dont want to get overly attached because if I do, I would've had hundreds of cats by now.
@@alexdee5341 it's worth looking into if you live near a veterinarian's office. TNR stands for trap-neuter-release. It's a really great program to help the strays so they don't keep going through the miserable cycles being in heat, getting pregnant, having long and difficult labors, having aggression, fighting, etc over and over again. Oftentimes, vet offices will also give huge, deep discounts when you're doing the program as well. It's really great that you're taking care of the strays, but if you helped them further with the TNR program, it would help with the quality of their long-term lifetime!
We care for a group of stray cats also. And a stray chicken lives with them too. They don't seem to bother each other.
Oh, I was so scared it was going to be a “Sophie’s Choice” and only take one, because mom was scared! Thankfully, she took both! Thank you to all who saved the kittens!

In Chile there's a similar small wild cat known as "guiña" and part of their fast disappearance is their lost of habitat and their interbreeding with domesticated cats.

Mega thanks to that team for rescuing those babies. I was a little worried mom would get scared again and not be able to get her babies, but I shouldn't have doubted for a minute. A mom's resolve to protect her babies has no equal and this little mom proved it.

Mom is just as adorable as her babies. So thankful to the the rescuers who did everything to reunite the babies with their Mom and not just take them. Sometimes it is necessary, but not this time! Happy reunion.

I feared the natural scent of the kittens was lost, and the mother was suspicious she was walking into a trap. Luckily the kittens' scent restored itself enough and the mother found enough maternal instinct to overcome her suspicion. I have seen so many examples of human intervention on "abandoned" young animals go tragically wrong, but this time my fear was eventually revealed to be unjustified.
That actually is a fallacy human scent doesn't deter the mother from reclaiming the babies. The mom would have done so, but something spooked her it wasn't the scent though.
@@houndgirl7365 Wow! You must have really studied hard on CZcams University to get that one together. You may have a bit of an excuse, through only having contact with cats that are accustomed to human scent, but any wild animal living all its life in its natural environment will be spooked by the scent of an unknown/little known species on its infants. Sadly the contact that many wild animals have with humans ends badly for the wild animals so there are also cases where human scent signals real and present danger.

Rescuers, all over the world, are not only heroes but angels as well. Thank you so much for all that you do. Regardless, if rescuing is a career or a passion (most of the time it's both) it's a labor of love that we take part in because it's the "right" thing to do. Only a heartless, evil and cruel "human" ( if that's what they call themselves) would ever intentionally harm another creature for anything other than self preservation, and they should all just be put out of their misery, the world wouldn't miss them. Thank you, to all the heroes in the video and around the world that prove, w every breath, that there is still "humanity" and a reason to hope that the human race is something other than just destructive.
