How do you even get in to the build part?
Well actually you can't even progress the other levels and upgrades until you've spent enough medals in one to unlock the next. Usually there's only a couple small things like banners and helmets and maybe a cape that you don't get. So go ahead and unlock the guns. You have to if you want to progress to the next level up. So this whole speech about saving your medals is as the brits would say, BULUX. Just spend them because you have to anyway. I upgraded grenades when possible, guns and armor and the credits. The rest is choice is yours.

Agree here with you, you have to spend some medals in other stuff to progress to next pages.
His suggestion is to not waste medals on weapons because you probably won't use.
That frees you up spending on everything else, which will also progress you to next level.

Stealth is a thing in this game. In a 2 man team I’ve completed level 7 difficulty using stealth and smoke is s tier in that case. Some stratagems and weapons are very situational and when used in the right situations can be extremely useful. There’s also armor that makes using stealth easier.

Yeah i think this just boils down to play style and time it looks like when he was recording these he was still new and speeking to the very new players cause alot of his advice was for below difficulty like 4 maybe 😂 and he was running a squad just full blast and you right stealth do go hard
You basically have to spend medals. So unlocking all the weapons is good advice. Unless you think banners and dances are better investments, no judgment.

@@Mothman1992 This game won't die. Helldivers 1 had a very loyal fanbase that play to this day. Helldivers 2 will have a much bigger loyal fanbase for many many years to come.

Grenade Launcher, Supply Pack, Eagle Airstrike, Gatling Sentry
You can clear nest/building with ease from afar, provides more ammo/stim/grenades, area control with gatling sentry
Very good until you unlock laser orbital, Auto cannon, Railgun etc
For anyone in lower levels having problems with armoured enemies, I recommend using the Sniper Rifle. People are passing it over and not even trying it because it seems like the wrong kind of game to use a gun like that. But its incredibly powerful and rips through armour like butter. I use it alot on the Automatons when I see the big heavies coming towards me. 2-3 shots and they are down and you don't have to always go for the weak spots.
Are you talking about the anti-material rifle? Havent grabbed it yet.

Fun to use, and it fires pretty quickly aswell, depletes fast with the 6 mag though.
It's a great gun (if we're talking about the AMR). You can even one shot close enemies with hipfire
The 1st shotgun is worth it b/c it reloads one bullet at a time instead of clips. Also one shot kill for small bugs. Great for close range, use machine gun for hordes., and op for supply pack.
My first game was solo against “Terminators” and escorting folks. I got wrecked…. 10/10!!
Can't wait to be able to put these tips to use. Hopefully one day I can get farther than the 'servers are full, trying again in 30 seconds' screen.....

Well, the servers have been expanded twice I believe. I've had no problem getting into missions just now.

Will add a point to get scout/light armor. Running faster and faster stamina regen is the best damage mitigation vs bugs imho

big disagree with the Eagle Cluster Bomb recommendation. The cluster bomb is effectively just a much worse Eagle Airstrike with a higher potential of TK due to how wide and long it is. Let’s not forget it can’t destroy structures which is a big part of why air strikes are so good in the first place. Being able to just deal with multiple nests or automaton printing facilities from range without needing to push into a hive nest cluster or automaton base saves both a lot of time and ammunition.
Yeah hard agree. Definitely gotta be able to demolish outpost buildings. Eagle airstrike far better than cluster bomb which specifically says it won't destroy buildings.

Yeah, I had no idea about AS until I was looking for more unlocked Stragems to try out later. It's pretty much superior in every way. I still like the idea and feel of CB, but in practical terms AS does more of what a team needs with less risks.
Soft agree, don't have AS yet, but CB is always exactly horizontal so it's pretty easy to destroy
8:53 You don't "waste" your medals. You need to invest medals to unlock more pages no matter what. So invest everything until you get the breaker shotgun.
The glitches and the server capacity when trying to log in is so frustrating. Because I enjoy the game. If they can patch the bad this game will be amazing. So many throw backs to 80s movies that I love.

One important thing, you can have someone else equip the ammo backpack on a support weapon and they can reload it for you way faster, and the gas is actually really good for fodder.
For Ship Modules, both Engineering Bay and the Robotics modules need super samples for tier 2, the other modules do not.
Sentries are more powerful than you think, and that shows with the upgrades. I suggest grinding for the 50% increased ammo, this is a godsend on your sentries to keep them shooting for far longer.
I recommend any armor that grants you the 2 additional grenades. The standard SG Breaker, the machine pistol and until you unlock the impact grenade, use the standard explosive variety. As for stratagems, I recommend getting the Gatling sentry asap. Eventually you’ll have all of these unlocked but as early as possible you want the Eagle Airstrike and the orbital laser. I also recommend the auto-cannon as an early armor tool but the shield pack and the railgun as more of a forever combo. All in all you just have to get comfortable with your kit and play style. At that point this game really shines.
True, armor passives are currently not made equal, and until they fix armor ratings, the Technician armor rules supreme.
Strategem system reminds me of a game back in the day called Mercenaries on PS2. You could call in airstrikes similar to this game, even call in vehicles via air drop. Imagine if we could get a tank drop in Helldivers.

Awesome videos as always! I really enjoyed the fact that the developers actually used Science into this game like the player cannot get the max damage because of the temperature of certain planets, etc. That is awesome!
Smokes are actually really nice against automotons. I like it a lot for the civilian escort missions, and when you're in a pinch, it can buy you a decent amount of time.

5:42 Actually, running multiple Eagle stratagems is more efficient than just one. The rearm refills all stratagem counts. And the rearm time is exactly the same regardless of how many you choose. The trouble comes from the rearm time leaving you temporarily without air strikes. But with a good team, it’s unlikely everyone will have their Eagles all rearming simultaneously.
Best gear played by chads on helldiver 9 Difficulty, not difficulty 3 like legacy gaming: Basic shotgun and then Breaker shotgun forever, Smg secondary, impact grenades, armor with +2 grenade perks(6 in total). Stratagems mostly depend on upgrades, sentries and eagle become a lot more usefull with T3 upgrades. Best stratagems: 500kg bomb, walking barrage orbital, orbital railcannon and/or a sentry, the minigun sentry is the best until you get sentry upgrades(50% ammo and others). Heavy guns: basic machiegun, autocannon and then Spear.
After upgrades the autocannon sentry becomes very good, rocket is also good now. Mortars are only good in defense missions.
Eagle stratagems get +1 uses so you can use the heavy ones more. NOTE: while some eagle stuff has 4 uses and 8 sec cooldown, after using all of it the eagle goes to rearm for 3 or 4 minutes. So using a 500 kg bomb will mean the eagle wont rearm and refresh the 500kg bomb until you use up or manually reload other eagle stuff. In essence only use 500kg bomb from eagle in the begining.
Heavy guns/support: there is a big disscusion here but the machinegun is great for dealing with anything except heavy armor, autocannons for fun and clearing a lot of enemies but doesnt penetrate heavy armor while the sentry autocannon does penetrate armor.
The spear is hard to use but it can 1 shot charger(still need to shot them) and 2 shot bile titan(if you hit the face).
Other usefull gear but situational: shield backpack is op, drone with laser, grenade launcher for clearing bug nests and eggs, sniper rifle against ranged enemies.
Important NOTE: against the automatons you will need to use mortars, shields, smoke and all of the other gear since they also have artilery. You cannot be agressive with the robots and you need a better team so grind all your favourite gear against the bugs and then challenge the chad vietnam ptsd horror(yes, they will shot you when you can't even see them)
Boosters: usually take the scanner one since no one takes it, there is a booster for more reinforcements at the end of the pleb battlepass, the extortion edition battle pass has one much earlier so use them if you are playing with lower level players. They are a team bonus so match them nicely.
Get the radar upgrade from the ship module, it really really helps with planning attacks where there is no interference.
Pro tip: always activate the radar dish secondary to sell all objectives on map and destroy the Stalker nest since they will bother you the entire game. in the artilery secondary, find mini-nukes, high-yield explosive and napalm rounds first because it fires them in the same order you put them
It's an early game build...why would this work on level 9...weird way to get people to check out your channel, throwing shade at someone else, but ok.
ah, sorry, i was joking around with the way i wrote it. Just noticed that many youtubers tended to showcase lower tier weapons that dont work later. Most times people prepare for soft targets and the team ends with running around egg nests or from swarms. The napalm and mortars tend to kill more allies in the chaos of battle and the grenade launcher/machinegun are quite weak since the basig guns and grenades can fill those roles.
No disrespect meant, just wrote it fast since many players waste resources and get stuff with subpar items and end up at level 12 on difficulty 7 to get the super samples

I can hold down R to bring up weapon options - but how do I navigate that menu ? My mouse and arrow keys do nothing .....
Maybe Eagle Airstrike is better than Napalm or Cluster, because it can close bug holes, even multiple at same time sometimes.

Remember to actually get some of these because they may go away and then get a buff in patch down the road

Boosters. Buy them from your warbonds. They are infinite, team wide buffs

Sometimes some misions don't allow me to use the 4 stratagems only 3, i though it was because of My level but then i help someone lv9 while i was lv20 and still get 3 slots not the usual 4, can somebody explain?
What else can we use medals for if we shouldnt be unlocking the battlepass for guns? I don't get it.
Guns aren't always the best thing to grab is all we are saying. Boosters are invaluable and should always be purchased, then super credits to get you on to the premium pass faster, and finally armor if you want specific bonuses on a certain weight class that will be more important once they patch resistance values. Guns, aside from the really good ones, are kinda not worth the medals on most cases haha
My favorite thing to do is to have the full squad throw 380s and 120s on a enemy point and scrabbling for our lives.

That changes drastically as you increase the difficulties.
Remember it's always faster to switch to your liberator.

I haven't tried automatons yet, as I'm still getting used to the game. But the chargers on level 4 difficulty is giving a hard time. It takes my entire squad 5 minutes just to kill one.
Get either a Recoilless or EAT (Expendable Anti-Tank) shoot the charger in one of its front legs - this should break the armor on the leg and expose the flesh underneath. Use your primary and shoot the unarmored leg and the charger will go down with no issues. Hope this helps.

Stalwart is the better version of the machine gun tbh the lower damage isnt noticeable plus you get extra ammo with it plus its more versatile
It doesn't have the armor penetration that the Machine Gun has on things like Hive Guards. You sacrifice effectiveness for the ability to mobile reload
I personally play on medium difficulty i know hive gaurds become more and more common along side brood commanders on challenging so yeah it falls off later but then again there isnthr grenade launcher

No that's true, just you want to analyze what you should go for out of that list. Boosters are super overlooked by a lot of people and are extremely valuable over a mediocre gun. That's just what we are getting at.
You are not burning resources unlocking weapons, you need to spend medals to progress the tree anyway so unlock away. Just keep an eye on how many medals you need for the next tier.
It is bether to unlock weapon early, you need to spend medal to unlock new tier of item, and more weapon is good for expreiment and learn the game. Same for the ship upgrade, for the advaced upgrade you need purple sample very rare and only found on the hardest difficulty, and you need a skilled and well balance team to do that. My suggestion try and learn a lot of equipment require practice specialy the stratagem. If you use the machine gun, very good weapon in my opinion, it's bether to put her on the highest rate of fire for maximum effect.

found out the hard way - Req Credits stop increasing at 50K & green common samples cap at 500.

I like build expect for machine gun. Good gun but it runs out of ammo to fast and a newbie will be spending lots of time ammoless. I know I was of them. If using machine gun might as well pick up supply backpack. It will extend your time in combat. I personally prefer Stalwart for bugs. Now when I think about it starting out I would say vs bots grenade launcher and vs bugs Stalwart because it has more ammo and you will tear through bugs and ammo isn't bad because picking up supply boxes gives you 2 clips instead of one. So you don't really need supply backpack wasting a stratagem spot. Again machine gun is fine and more powerful but without supply backpack you be using your primary much more often.

You can select your difficulty and then “quick join” someone else’s game. This also won’t interrupt your own series of missions if you have a chain going.

The early shotgun is very mediocre. The Breaker later on one of the strongest weapons in the game.
even that i dont really agree with, the abillity to reload a single shot and shoot is highly underestemated, and can be a huge life saver. especially early game wen getting used to the game.@@LegacyGamingUS it is as good as the late game one's, well no but i would never say "not worth it"

The moronic devs didnt implement a queue system. Instead you get to sit there and hope you get a random login attempt every 30 seconds. Absolute waste of money if you were hoping to play this weekend .
Hardly think a studio that went from peak player count of 6.5k on their first game to over 800k combined on this are moronic for not anticipating this level of success. They've communicated they are doing their best to try and improve things.
