  • What are the BEST stratagems in Helldivers 2? After playing the game almost every day since launch I have tested all the items and found the ones that stand out. This covers the best weapons, the worst eagles, and everything in between. If you want to know how good any of the tools in this game are then this is the place. Also, be aware that everything in video games is heavily opinionated. I clearly found my preferred way to play the game but yours might be different. Thats okay. Let's rank every stratagem in Helldivers 2 from worst to best.
    The Galaxy’s Last Line of Offence. Enlist in the Helldivers and join the fight for freedom across a hostile galaxy in a fast, frantic, and ferocious third-person shooter. This is a direct sequel to Helldivers which came out years ago. You fight a couple different alien types in solo or with up to 3 friends. Switch up your gear with missiles from the sky or slow-inducing gas. All kinds of tolls can be used in combat in a variety of ways. And you will be fighting in different environments from the frigid cold mountains to the plant-infested rocky region. Take up arms and push back against the aliens who threaten humanity once more.

    Spraying down an entire horde of bugs with the machine gun and hearing my character laugh maniacally makes it S tier in my heart even though it doesn’t do that well in higher difficulties

      Don't forget that you can adjust the RPM to be slower when using it on hordes, allowing MUCH longer ammo life while not losing much killing power. It can also be paired with a supply pack to help with the low mag capacity.

      That sounds like a bug post. I always flip that thing to MAXIMUM FREEDOM and mow down hordes.
      It should be given another mag, full ammo from resupply and mobile reload. Then it will be perfect

      Needs 50 more rounds in the box. The stagger is amazing vs bugs and I prefer it to the stalwart for that reason.

    DoT damage is bad when its on the enemies. DoT on you is one of the most effective ways to get you killed

      Yeah fire on enemies tickles them, meanwhile if you step in a bit of fire on the ground from your flamethrower you'll die in 2-3 seconds unless you stim right away. Its very weird

      As I have a Radeon GPU, I am forced to play on lowest graphic settings. This is fatal when using Flamethrower because you are no longer able to discern where the flames are on the ground. So you could potentially flame a charger, dive to the side and then randomly die to fire.

      The problem is it looks like It takes small arms fire and light explosives if it doesn't do that why no just cover me 360 in small arms rated material and ditch the heavy armour

      The mech has single handedly saved so many of my runs by basically reseting the board every time i call it in. It can help regroup a squad after getting overrun vs bugs

      Nah they suck. At least right now. There's a reason I see them barely used. They get killed so fast vs bots and there are better options vs bugs.

    I used to doubt the cluster bombs until I ran one on a helldive mission and killed 38 bugs with a single strike

      @@deadfuture7834i will never understand how people see the giant red beam in the sky and immediately think “oh yeah, lets run TOWARDS the giant death beam.” The only time it makes sense is when it’s the precision orbital, because that thing can’t hit from 3 inches away.

      Yeah it’s really good. Only problem I have with it is when I’m not the one using it. Randoms usually just throws this on enemy direction and doesn’t care if teammates are gonna get hit 😂

      Honestly just give us an option to pay for a enemy presence reveal that way we have a money sink late game and I don't waste my time bringing the GL to missions that are just Oops All Hunters!

    Gas strike underated. Unlimited bughole choking gas bombs on a 75 second cooldown. I throw these more than grenades some missions.

      very effective in bug defense missions too. just drop it on a bug breach and you'll have less enemies to worry about and with the low cooldown, you'll probably get more kills quickly to finish the mission

      Something people like to forget when doing tier lists is the cooldown time, I mean this thing literally cools down nearly as fast as the anti tank rockets, you can throw one at literally every bug breach that happens. Something I also noticed is it almost never tells me how many kills I have gotten when its dropped, so maybe thats the confusion with it not doing much.

      Gas strike gets me 20-30 kills every single time I throw it on a bug breach. 75 second cooldown. S tier easily!

    I discovered you can hop out of the mech after it's all used up and bugs will get stuck on it, to which you can then blow it up to take out some bugs

      @@nagolhtims3188 Its not really a "Self Destruct" its more of if your lucky and have some kind of grenades or explosive and shot the mech while its near bugs after you use all its ammo it just helps with not wasting ammo on the bugs when some can die from the mechs dying explosion

    The AMR is S tier against automatons then used at range. The ammo economy is decent when used against scout walkers and above and is aimed at weak spots. It can 2-4 shot a hulk from the front half way across the map depending on your aim. Pair it with armor that reduces recoil and you will have a great time

      Yeah I don’t often use the weapon but I’m surprised he ranked it D tier. Weird how part of the clip he was showing him killing small bugs with it, seems like a bad use of the weapon.

      I agree with what you said, AMR is not a weapon that one just rush into an area and still mauling down everything, its a ANTI MATERIAL SNIPER RIFLE~ what its best at? RANGE! use the range to its full potential and the best part is that at such far range it deals a lot of damage :)
      As for the ammo, i do agree its low capacity but its a sniper system weapon NOT a CC nor battle rifle! its main purpose is to take out big threats big targets, this gun is not for everyone, i do want to bring up something about people who like to be stagnant and fight off waves and waves of infinite enemies and patrols, there is another way to play it which is more stealthy approach but most players will just go gun blazing and aggro every enemy on the the map

      Because enemies spawn on top of you, around you, and from the bases making the AMR acceptable only for solo play or as a "pls baby sit me while I line up a headshot that someone else could've made with an EAT" choice.
      The AMR sucks. It does not deal with chargers. It does not deal with titans or tanks. It does not deal with hordes. It cannot kill bases or seal breaches. It cannot shoot down dropships.

      The AMR is a fantastic weapon, only one problem:
      The God awful scope input delay. Damn thing feels like you're aiming with 230ms ping. Terrible for accurate shots.
      If I move my mouse to the left, then between the time my hand finishes the movement and the reticle reaching its intended position, I threw a birthday party, mowed the lawn and made dinner.

    Throwing gas on breaches I’ve found is one of the best way to keep them under control I’d put it b tier at the least

      orbital has a much more consistent cooldown than 500kg, and you can save your 500kg for bile titans. gas strike is amazing on top of breaches

      I do think the gas strike is consistently underrated by people. I honestly think people just have not used it much because there are better options. I don't think it is D Tier though.

      I prefer airburst. It covers a wide area and does damage to heavily armored enemies. Would be nice if you could detonate the gas. Throw an incendiary grenade and it explodes on top of the DoT damage.

    Mech suit is almost a direct upgrade of HMG emplacement, minus the limited number of call-ins.
    What would make it viable is to give a temporary protection bubble while using it...

    Smoke is a strictly disengaging tool. It doesn't make them "lose you", that would be absolutely busted and stupid. Instead, in my mind, it obscures vision and makes it so they fire at your last known location. Which is invaluable when you need to bug out of a losing fight.

      It's also a great tool to push onto a enemy position and to flank a battalion of bots, you would be surprised the difference that guerrilla tactics make on taking an overwhelming force, although it does take coordination

      lesser known fact but if you angle the eagle smoke strike correctly, you can take out automaton fabricators. no lie.

      From what I can tell, bots have an RNG chance to hit you when you are targeted, and its impacted by distance, concealment, cover, and potentially the size of the object they're shooting at. Smoke has a considerable effect on it, but it doesn't instantly make them unable to track you.

    Anti Material in D tier is wild. It may suck ass on bugs, but against bots its amazing on higher difficulties. If you have good aim, it 2 shots hulks to the face consistently, it 1-2 shots all forms of devestators to the face, and it can take the legs off at-sts with 2 shots to the joint. It's an amazing weapon for long range stealth, or mid range if you are confident in your accuracy. Also flamethrower being in c tier when it's a god against every bug below bile titan is wild.

      I agree. Anti-material you just need to think of yourself as overwatch. You stay back and take out the medium and even heavy armored things that the up-front grunts get swarmed with. And if running solo you operate as a stealth scout so need to use the corresponding armor.

    Going back to the orbital precision strike, this thing is going to get even better soon. A big problem with it is the call in time. However, a note in the patches earlier said that the red stratagem staying in place when they stick to bugs and run away is a bug. So once they fix this, the precision strike will be able to have that 100% accuracy on moving targets which would be a game changer. Once that bug gets fixed, I’m running it over the railcannon strike any day because of that cooldown being twice as fast and does even more damage being able to one shot titans. It’ll be an S tier instead of A for sure.

      If you have stun grenades then the Orbital Precision strike is a solid A tier so as long there isnt atmospheric intefrrence which lowers orbital accuracy.
      Orbital Rail cannon two shots Titans (the video says it can one shot, but it never does unless the titan is damaged). Meanwhe the Orbital Precision Strike actually one shots titans and does so with less than half the cooldown. You just need to throw 2 stun grenades to ensure the kill.
      If you plan to stick bugs with it. The EATS is the king for sticking bugs since it has a 70 second cooldown (fastest) and give you 2 rockets afterwards.

      @@iankmakyeah I often use stun grenades with it and then a grenade launcher for the bug holes and large groups of enemies. Combining it either the scorcher means you can take out a wide variety of enemies out with this. And yeah EAT-17 is S tier for sure. I often run it alongside the orbital precision strike. Usually use the rocket for the chargers or brood commanders and then the orbital strike for the titans.
      Great loadout I often run is: scorcher, p-19, stun grenade, orbital precision strike, EAT-17, grenade launcher, and ammo pack. Often use stim armor to help out with all those hunters that get in my face.

      Keep in mind that it will ALWAYS adjust position to be in the same spot above your right shoulder as you look around, and it really helps cut down on it bisecting you.

      Give your teammates a little more space. Much less team kill potential if you're not rubbing against them.

    Ehhhhh I'd say the medium armor penetration puts the MG higher than the Stalwart. Definitely not good for solo diving but as a squad weapon, its a solid high C tier, maybe low B tier. I almost always prefer it out of the two, since like you said, the Stalwart feels like just another primary weapon.

      I don't know why Sheen loves Stalwart so much. Lower the RPM on machine gun and it kills everything that isn't a charger or a bile Titan easily, efficiently.
      Everything kills trash mobs, so I have no idea why anyone would ever waste a stratagem on the Stalwart.

      @@shemsuhor8763Because the role of a machine gun in this game is to kill lots of trash mobs quickly. You cannot be caught standing still while reloading in any higher difficulties, its a death sentence. The stalwart has a much high magazine capacity and more reserve mags, and refills more from ammo pickups, AND you can reload while moving, AND you can lower the rpm on it to make it even more ammo efficient. The only thing the MG has is medium armor pen which is only useful against Hive guards which you can just spam into and they will halt their movement, then clean up when everything else is dead; and I guess bile spewers, but someone running grenade launcher can take care of those.

      The machine gun is a relic from the first game imo. Back then, some heavier weapons like the rail gun were primary, not support weapons - so you would use something slow and heavy like that for your primary and run the machine gun for hoards.

      @@jadeviper1290These are true, but the stalwart lacks firepower for a support weapon. Stalwart basically feels like the new sickle rifle, expect, the sickle has unlimited ammo and doesnt take up a strategeam slot. Now the heavy machinegun has way more firepower then sicle and stalwart, but the long reload where you cant move makes it almost unplayable on higher difficulties, so an Arc thrower will always be a way better weapon for hordeclearing.

    A big problem I see with every tier list so far, it’s always what they feel is best in general and are unwilling to adapt to circumstances. Smoke strats made the tcs mission much more reasonable, you said yourself that the AM rifle can kill hulks with good aim . It is pointless to look for a one weapon kills all in this kind of game.

      That makes no sense. Other options simply do the same job but better in most cases.
      Walking barrage does the same thing that galling, 120 and 380 do, only better.
      Recoilless and EAT do what AMR does, only better. Laser rover does what machine gun rover does, only better.
      This game is badly designed and I'm tired of pretending it isn't. It has something like 5 maps (10 I'd you count night variants as unqiue) and maybe 20 unique enemy variations. At least half of the weaponry or strategems are made redundant by options that are simply better. It is NOT an early access game.
      Thus game is wildly overrated and overhyped. It is a 6/10 game, 7/10 at best. DRG, Killing Floor 2 and Vermintide are far better horde shooters.

      There needs to be a different tier list for each race. Lumping them all together makes no sense and will give bad reviews

      My short experience with the gun rover had it shoot me in the head and kill me in a single burst twice even though I only used it for 2-4 missions, while with the laser rover I never died from it and only ever took a quarter or half of my life in damage if the beam stayed on me, even though i use it semi-regularly.

      @@Tymptra it doesnt actually kill in 75 seconds, they mean it only has a 75 second cooldown. Which means while your airstrike is on cooldown, his is killing bugs or robots

      @@prebenkulWell, since we can use 3 air strikes in a row, does not make sense the gas orbital. Rearm time about less the 3 min. since there is a lot of running around, u can time the rearm between fights.

    Use the load out that works for you and is fun. Everything has it's use.

      I use it and I can easly do Helldive missions for the bots. I run with AMR, 500KG and, rail cannon orbitals and it easly beats bot missions. Hulks? No problem I can two shot them with the AMR. Rocket devastator? A joke, devastators get two shot with diligence counter sniper. I missed a shot and the bot got a flare off? Just 500KG it and finish the rest off with the counter sniper. Now lets say you got a tank chilling aroun you and you need to kill it. Thats when you use that rail cannon. The problem is the berserkers but thats nothing a trusty P-12 Redeemer cant handle. unless there is more that five berserkers you can easly kill them. Oh, I almost forgot that this is just three strategems so you can use this on missions with AA defence and ones without you can use whatever your heart desieres.

      The DCS was upgraded to medium armor penetration, and it puts in WORK. Until I got the JAR-5 Dominator from the Steeled Veterans premium warbond, it was my primary and it just slays bugs up to chargers, and can kill most bots too. Sleeping on that rifle is a mistake.

    The other nice thing about the EMS mortar is that it’s super effective in the event modes.
    Namely the researcher extract mission for defence operation and the termicide missions just gone.
    I think based on that evidence, the EMSM is always going to be considered for those harder events when they come about in the future

    The MG is so underrated, yeah it makes you unable to move while reloading but it does insane damage, and somehow people forget it has medium armor penetration
    pair it with a supply pack and you'll have infinite ammo, definitely an A for me

    Machine gun > Stalwart
    MG can pierce some armor. So hive guard and spewers can be dropped. Brood commanders heads will also be deleted. Paired with a jump pack you can reload midair. Ammo count is low but it isn't meant for clearing little guys. Pairs well with the SMG or Liberator.

      You can reduce the fire rate of the Machine Gun (I think Stalwart has it too?) so you can help save some ammo at the cost of DPS, or increase it too

When chargers charging or turning their bodies, the armor, which work as invisible parts are not strictly tied to the tissues beneath the armor and you can shoot the leg with minimal chance of being deflected even when the leg armor is visually not removed.

    I kinda like eagle smokes for bot missions. The smoke canisters can blow up fabricators, so it's not completely useless. Good for blowing a fab and giving cover to dash into the base and clear stuff out. Not perfect, not even great, but strong fun factor.

    i think the tesla tower is the most underrated it demolishes bugs its just that most people dont know how to play around it and get killed pretty easy since the range is pretty big just put in a nice spot and you wont even have to worry about that area anymore

      it has about 15 meters of range, its pretty huge. been many times where i thought i was out of the range then a sudden ZAP and i where down, very far away from my teammates mind you. pretty horrible.

      Yes. You just need to put it behind anything that can cover it from big bugs attack. If you don’t have any wall or small mountain, than put it a little bit further, a little bit away, after the bug breach, so the bugs will face it and not run straight to you.

      yea tesla is just knowing where to throw it. I like running it because i can chuck it behind me to clear out a horde chasing me or at least slow them down. Also great for when youre on any objective because itll basically completely protect an entire angle of approach

    Solid video! Great tips with every strategem. My only contention is with the heavy MG. With good trigger control you can make the ammo last, it has a very long range, is pretty accurate when crouched or prone (especially if your armor has the engineering kit), has AP, and absolutely shreds anything smaller than a charger. I don't run it with bots, but against bugs I find it hard not to use. Bile spewers go down with one quick burst to the face.

    One thing I think this sort of guide would benefit from would be an indication of what level each of these becomes available, so new players know what to invest in as they level up.. Since cash isn't in endless supply, being able to choose A and S tier options to unlock first would be really helpful. Having this information as a small number in each icon would be really slick

    I think a lot of the low tier strats are things that are like "oh it's useful but there's no way I'd spend a slot just to have it"
    if there was like a resource system where you had say like 10 points and then the 500kg bomb was 3 points but an anti-material rifle was 1, there'd be less of a tradeoff for picking non-meta stratagems

    Would have moved the anti-material up a tier but I get it. Orbital airburst has caused more team/self kills than anything else in the matches I have played lol. My general go to are: Bots - Laser, 500kb, railcannon strike, autocannon __ Bugs - 500kg, railcannon strike, arc thrower, shield backpack. I hate bringing that shield backpack, but hunters and stalkers exist >_>. I'm also generally the guy going out If its a blitz I will switch the railcannon for the airstrike to. Extermination missions, just depends on what the other people are brining, but EMS mortar helps so much if you can get it on a high spot where it won't be killed. Since they supposedly fixed the mech's rocket blowing you up when turning with today's patch, might have to try that again on bugs.

    I loooove using the anti material rifle and the jump pack. Being able to get up on top of rocks where bugs and bots can’t get to you is so fun.
    They all gather beneath you and just stand there too so you can easily pick them off. I even jumped up on top of a dude’s mech suit yesterday and just laid there sniping as it walked around.
    The only thing I wish this that it had more armour penetration/damage vs chargers. But you can call in the disposable anti tank for that.

    I run a stalwart as a primary weapon and rock the expendable anti-tank other two strategems vary depending on the mission and what other people are running. So far for me this playstyle really works

    One of the things I adore about this game is that every single tier video I watch is different in some way. Some Items are genuinely S tier, some are genuinely F tier, but everyone has their own opinion and gameplay for each stratagem and weapon placement. Everyone plays different, and places their stratagems differently.

    I have been rocking a turret loadout last week, auto,gatlin,machine and expendableL this loadout is very strong and the turrets annihilate. Might try switching the small turret for rockets. They both fill the same role, but rocket might be better, auto cannon is king but needs support to shine. Get between 300-600 kills with this build, depends on how i place the turrets. The stun grenade is so fun with this build!

      I'd suggest taking Tesla coils instead of default turret, has infinite ammo and blocks out a rather large area as long as you keep heavily armored enemies off it.

    Just remember people the thing that matters the most is the mission type and the race you're going against. The mission type with change how every stratagem ranks drastically, except maybe the railcannon strike. So the best thing you can do is get experience with each mission type.

    YESSS autocannon is S tier, you cant deal well with chargers or bio titans but automaton tanks and hulks get destroied plus if you get a charger from the back is double win.
    Can clear bug holes, do almost every search and destroy side objectives, do spore towers, it can even destroy the new flyer hive with a full mag but at a safe distance.
    And for thoes hat say it reload time is shit, get this, its a skill issue, its 10 or so rounds and as long as you dont empty the mag you can load a clip supper fast

    Eagle Strafing Run is extremely underrated. Deploys instantly, near 0 team damage so you can throw it at your feet, damages heavies (a wee bit), and closes big holes.

    Thanks for the great insight. I agree with your list, but I wanna mention something about the shield generator. It actually has great offensive utility as well as bait. Enemies will swarm and making them vulnerable for airstrikes or nades.

    I think the orbital gatling, the eagle strafing run, and the MG sentry are meant to be starter strategems. Iirc they only cost 1500 RS, so you can get them very quickly when you're first starting out, and actually fill up all 4 strategem slots on your missions. I do think it's a shame that they fall off hard compared to more expensive strategems but that's the niche they occupy.

      Why even have them? Just allow players to access stuff that's actually usable.
      Same problem with thr DMR rifles and the AMR. Both DMRs are terrible. But if they weren't terrible, them the AMR would be pointless. If the AMR was better (like it should be) then EAT and Recoilless become pointless.
      This game is badly designed and I truly don't understand the hype around it. It's a 6/10 game at best compared to its peers in Vermintide, L4D or DRG.

Early on, all you have is the precision and the MG, but you can do a few low difficulty missions and get access to the starter strategems. Those strategems make you feel powerful as you start rolling those difficulty 1-4 missions that used to give you trouble, but you start needing something that hits harder for higher difficulties. It feels like you're progressing and getting more powerful, but the game is following along. I'm not saying it's perfect (there's definitely more than a few "trap" strategems/weapons that aren't worth the RS/medal investment) but I appreciate what they're going for. The journey getting to the endgame is just as important as the endgame experience itself, imo.

    I’ve been making the anti material playable for bugs mainly bc I run the sickle and rover for trash and I focus on the weak points on the medium bugs. It helps when random teams love running the big boom stratagems so I can run rifle, eat, and rover with orbital rail cannon. I do wanna mention my main team just got to running on 6-7 so I haven’t had much hours running this set up on there for a full opinion. I’m just a sniper at heart and it sucks the rifle and the counter sniper do suck for damage

      The problem is the same as the Stalwart. The AMR is ostensibly a primary. But if the AMR and Stalwart were primaries, they would be **the best** primaries. So they pad their game with fluff, shitty weapons and call the unlockable good ones "content."
      If you could run Stalwart primary you'd never use any of the assault rifles or shot guns that don't offer armor pen at least (and even then, Stalwart is so good for trash it is probably still better).
      And if the two DMR rifles were actually good there'd be no reason to run AMR ever. If AMR was stronger then it makes EAT and Recoilless redundant.
      Basically this game is poorly balanced and overrated.

      Nah. I can run AMR with EAT solo on Suicide complete the mission with all materials and secondaries and extract, you just have play smart and pick your battles. AMR is the only weapon that can one shot Bile Spewers one after another without a reload, the Auto Canon can't do that, and the rail gun would take 3 times as long plus you risk overcharging and death.
      The game is excellent, each weapon is unique and fits a niche creating many diverse playstyles that are viable at higher levels. Teamwork is extremely gratifying because the weapons are tools, each having a pretty awesome spot encouraging groups to not all use the same "meta" weapon. Every time I drop in with rondos, they always have different stratagems than the previous group and every drop is a blast.
      You just don't like the game and that's fine or maybe you are just a contrarian because you like to be an edge lord. I can only imagine it's because you don't know how to adapt your playstyle with the weapons you would like to use or with other squad mates. Or maybe you just wish you were a mythical alien slaying hero that is unkillable, there are other games for that. This is a game where you are a common grunt and death is practically guaranteed if you lack the ability to adapt on the fly.
      Basically, the game executes exactly what it attempts, creating an amazing balanced experience that is unique and earns its high ratings in spades.

    To add onto how absolutely absurd the personal energy shield is: it entirely prevents all status effects dealt during attacks. Knockback is almost never a problem and hunters can't slow you at all unless your shield is down.

    Keep in mind that some of the strategems get buffed really hard with ship upgrades, such as the eagle strategems. If you fully upgrade them, you get an additional use for each strategem, so instead of 2 eagle airstrikes with basic upgrades, you get 3 uses mentioned in the video. Same with the 500kg bomb: 1 use at basic and 2 uses with the upgrade.

    Honestly this is by far the best tier list iv seen so far, the only thing i would change is move the flamethrower up a bit because it is just so incredible with dealing with chargers and other bugs as long as your careful not to team kill.

    For bugs I personally run
    Eagle cluster strike OR rail cannon strike dependent on my team/mission
    Mech, it’s just a get out of jail free card, you call it down it completes the objective. Throw it down earlier rather than late so it recharges before extraction. Your mission is take out all the big stuff first and then help mow down the breaches. Not to mention the drop ship shoots auto cannons at the heaviest enemies in range.
    Arc thrower, just fkn amazing at taking out everything. Unlimited ammo and shreds any bug in the game if you shoot it right. Once you charge it up once you’re good to go.
    Guard dog rover, ever since they increased light bug spawns the guard dog rover has been a lock for me. It keeps the annoying stuff off of me and lets me focus in on the bigger things. It does great damage over time to heavy enemies as well resulting in less shots needed to kill chargers and spewers

    13:19 -- I love that supply pack, but my favorite thing about it is that it doesn't _just_ give you items to keep you topped off. When you call a resupply in, if you and your team don't need to use all the packs, you can take any extra packs to *refill empty supply backpack slots.* That kinda flexibility is ridiculously helpful since you don't have to time a resupply call with everyone being out; let two people reup, take the rest yourself to refill the carry slots, and your resupply timer cools down while you move on to better things.

      minefields are excellent on the termicide missions especially if you factor in the fact that mortars friendly fire the hell out of the objectives.

      Minefields:
      A tier when with friends or any one with VC because you can communicate about where youre dropping it
      F tier when with randos who are braindead and forget where it dropped (or who drop it right on top of the objective)

      The minefield is in no way an F tier. I run duo (9) and I get so many kills with them and can cover our rear and flanks on such a low cooldown, plus the tower has a taunt, so the terminids literally walk into it. And it never will not be fun to accidentally walk into a mine.

    I never found the EMS strike to work that well, maybe I'm using it wrong but anything I hit with it just... keeps coming. They don't stop or be disoriented, or if they do it's only for a couple of seconds.
    Anyway, good list. One thing I will point out is that the grenade launcher is fantastic for destroying bug nests since if you're decent with distances you can lob them from outside the detection range of the nest holes, theoretically clearing a nest in a few minutes without ever seeing combat.
    And the jetpack is an auto-include for me on most missions. The recharge for both the pack fuel and the call-in is not as ideal as I'd like but if you're being swarmed by hunters or trying to escape a horde, it gives you valuable breathing room, especially in heavier armour. If you want to get to a more difficult-to-reach position, the jetpack can get you there (usually). And if you jump from a highish place at a sprint, you can go huge distances. Smart usage of it can really get you far.

    This guy put the stalwart above the hmg and the 500kg above the cluster bomb.
    It's a good reminder that these lists be hella opinions, and that's fine cuz these things play differently and different people/teams have different playstyles. (How dare you place my beloved cluster below S tier 😤)

      The 500kg is better, the cluster is only good for hordes, which you can just use your weapons and grenades for. The 500kg is great against big targets which you have less options for. He explained it in the video but go off ig

      I mean, it's A tier, it's not like he said it was bad, in his list it's still one of the best stratagems in the game, also it's hard to do better than the 500kg after you get the upgrade to have 2 charges.
      Also yeah, in my eyes the hmg being able to wreck berzerkers and hive guards is worth the lower ammo economy, and the reloading is almost never an issue for me since I almost always play with friends, sure it can lose you a single second of firing as you take cover behind a rock, but even in a firefight while being charged by a charger I can manage to reload it without dying everytime.

    The 110MM pods should be A tier, 3 charges it can oneshot bile titans if shot in the head and oneshot or bleed chargers, really useful if you are being overrun and dont want to trow a 500KG on to your allies, accuracy matters

      I also love the 110mm, but throwing it a hulk or charger (which in my mind are the prime targets for it) they can miss way to often, reliability is pretty important, at least for me, so having a stratagem that only works 3/4 times isn't exactly great, tho my god if all the pods land that charger is simply going to crawl for 3 meters and die, so much damage !

      I’m leaning to preferring the 110 over the rail cannon personally. Shorter cooldown and you get three charges. I’ve never had major accuracy issues with it personally, not saying it’s perfect but it’s easy to throw another should the first miss. Plus it’s got extra uses against the bots, easily destroys fabs and turrets.

      @@gibster9003 try to pair it with the stun grenade and you will not miss it's really useful, Sometimes I use orbital rail only for chargers and leave the 110mm for Titans

      Honestly, If 110 rocket pods were more consistent than it would replace the rail cannon. I do feel like the rocket pods are slept on but Jesus Christ when they only work half the time and you get that snarky, "An eagle never misses" it's like.. ffs.

    after getting fire damage increased by 25%, flamethrower + supplypack is the only way to play vs bugs and no one can change my mind on that

    AMR as a D Tier really shows this is not a great list, same with Spear vs Bots. Spear vs Bots is an absolute game changer.

      It’s actually pretty good for bots since it can two shot juggernauts in their eye it’s worse for bugs because of the smaller weak spots for their heavies but for bots it’s great for everything except the annihilator tank

      I'd say AMR is deserves at least B tier at best but the arc thrower or the autocannon is infinitely better at its job against automatons. SPEAR is meh, Its only good against destroying fabricators from far away, too inconsistent to use against hulks and wall turrets. Autocannon does it job way better.

      ​@@Reveraeit depends on how you are using these weapons.
      The AMR can two tap Hulks and one tap devastators. If you have good aim you can delete bots by just looking at enemies.
      Against bugs the AMR can 1-2 tap any medium bug. You can one tap even bile spewers in the head at max range. The arc thrower kills trash better but the AMR is way way way better at killing mediums.
      The auto cannon takes your backpack slot and must be reloaded while static. The auto cannon doesnt really add anything on top of the AMR. Maybe you can kill a charger in the butt or behind the leg but it's not particularly efficient at that. I always find myself taking the AMR and just using another tank busting strategem like calling EATS on top of the AMR. I can call them down at a mission location and swap to the EATS when I see a charger and swap back. It's much better than let's say....using an Arc thrower to kill a charger.

    There is a mistake here. The flame thrower works on Bile Spewers just fine it takes 20% 30% to burn one down and often they will stack on each other allowing more than one kill at a time. If you strafe left or right you avoid the vomit stream and burn them down popping them often. For a Charger it takes 70& of one canister to kill one. The problem is everything you light up has the potential of touching you and lighting you on fire. Best used with shield.

      I just made this exact comment lol. You gotta use flame thrower with the shield because of the short range and lack of stagger. Plus it lets you face tank bile spewers vomit.

    The napalm strike is fantastic especially for bugs because of the burning damage. It also slows your enemies down too

    To anyone reading this a month in the future, please dont sleep on the eagle smoke strike against bots, 3 smokes over a wide area is no joke for getting away from bots on a really low cooldown 1:45(ish) AND THE SMOKE CANNISTERS CAN DESTROY FABRICATORS , a single smoke strike and a quasar/eat on a tank track or hulk leg completely immobilises it and blinds it allowing time to get where you need to be

    The sniper feels like it has ammo issues because people use it to kill the small bots. If you use it just for destroyers or higher it's not bad.

    Smoke is A tier. You don't use it to engage, you use it to run away. An area gets overrun and you can't fight them off? Drop a smoke and leave. Go do a different objective and come back later when there is less heat. Works on both bugs and bots. Highly effective for surviveability.

    About to reach 250h too and this tier list is almost exactly what mine would be. S tier is 10/10. The remaining tiers are 9,5/10. Great to see a practical tier list of someone who truly stress tested the game!

    I really wish that they buff the stalwart and machine gun to be as effective as the arc thrower. But most likely the devs will nerf the arc for being a competent weapon.

      They nerfed two weapons (which are still good btw) and evryone is obsessed with the devs nerfing other stuff into the ground, whereas they have been buffing more weapons each patch.
      I do think the stalwart should've been a primary though.

      I don't know why would anyone think machine gun needs a buff. I don't know a single weapon that can bring this much fire power onto medium targets and lower. I suspect no one ever returns to this weapon to give it a try...

      ​@@sodgar6844 its a fine supp weapon but being forced to stop to reload makes it feel needlessly clunky. All other weapons that require a full stop reload either a) works against all targets or b) has a way of mitigating the reload with a partner. The Machine gun is neither. Honestly make it not require a full stop reload and I think more ppl would use it

      @@sodgar6844 Slow reload, have to sit still while you reload, only carries 2 boxes + 1 loaded, high recoil unless you're crouching and wearing the recoil reduction armor. Yes, I use it from time to time, but why would I use it over something like the laser cannon or the arc thrower? Both are basically infinite ammo weapons, laser cannon having better armour pen and the arc thrower being able to kill multiple enemies in one shot.

      the gas with flamethrower works pretty well on bugs. i believe the gas is like damage over time so that plus the flamethrower kinda smacks

    Eagle air strike, air burst, grenade launcher and expendable. That’s what I run. I’m only level 11 at the moment so I don’t have everything unlocked but I’ve gotten up to difficulty 7 with it so far so it works for me

      Youst wait until you uppgrade tureets, auto cannon is insane if well placed. I rock auto,machine,gatlin and expendable launcher. Get around 400-600kills every game, its all about the placement. Gonna try replacing small turret with rockets now! Might pump the build a notch 😮

      You can probably switch out Airburst for a supply pack. It'll keep you and your teammates topped off on everything. Your grenade launcher makes the air burst redundant if you have a pack to spam nades with*

      Meh, supply pack is only worthwhile if your team guzzles ammo. Unlike the first game, you get the resupply stratagem for free every few minutes so if you are more conservative with ammo you don't need supply pack.

      I like this playstyle. I usually do this with randoms. 😂
      But it’s the AC for me. It has decent ammo capacity that lasts for the entire mission, given you pick up ammo supplies on POIs, and saves you that extra stratagem slot.

    I used to look down on Cluster Eagles on higher difficulties but once I dropped it while running away form a massive horde and when it went off netted me a massive 75 kill count.... and I had 4 more to use before rearm.... Its a part of my kit as natural as the machine pistol now...

    Used to doubt the machine gun until I ran the MG plus EAT plus supply pack. Usually ran orbital laser or eagle 110’s as my last stratagem. If you want to have fun, run this.

      Tesla tower slaps and is on a short cooldown. Just need to place it wisely. Rocket pods are so unreliable as to become useless. Yes they can be good, but it's super random so why go with them over something you know will actually do the job when you need it ?

    Jump pack should not be a stratagem it should be PART OF YOUR SOLDIER BY DEFAULT! It just provides a jump in a game that should already have jumping…

    The mine and turret are S tier for stealth mission. Blue strategem doesn't reveal your location. So mine and turret can be bait while you run around and do objective. Mine is the rare bomb strategem who has blue call line instead of the red line which instantly make you spotted.

    big agree with the exo. find it helps get to a good start on longer dives, then call in the 2nd towards the end to get a safe extract
