- "Legally Blonde" High School Musical was filmed in March, 2013, California, Palo Alto, Henry Gunn High School.
Very talented young people performed, practically, in professional manner. Live music and singing were really great! I wish them all luck!

My apologies for shaking video sometimes. It was a cheap tripod and almost 2 pounds Minolta 75-300 telelens.
Most of filming I used manual focus. I took couple of pictures also and for couple times I forgot to switch to manual focus, so you'll probably going to hear AF motor when lens was focusing.
Using manual focus allowed to use manual control (for video mode) of shutter speed (it was1/60) and ISO (1600 - 800).

I'm not sure what some of these negative comments are all about. I've looked at a few of these now and this is one of the best high school productions of this I've seen. Elle, Emmett, and Paulette in particular were great. I wish the sound hadn't cut out during Brooke's scene. But other than that, this was really good.

This was great! Paulette had a beautiful and powerful voice. And stop hating on Elle. She had a great voice, stage presence, and a lot of talent. :) of any of the cast read this YOURE FANTASTIC :)

This was a true High School Play. It was amazing. I've seen more than a few and this one takes the cake! I Loved Elle and also Paulette. But in every production I've seen of this Paulette is amazing. Their voices were amazing the acting was good. Brooke was also amazing. I could see her in a soap opera or any tv drama and Paulette should definitely do Broadway. The bend and snap was different but I enjoyed the scene.
I've watched this so many times I feel like I know all of these people personally

I actually love this performance, my favorite H.S. version of Legally Blonde to date. I'll admit it wasn't perfect, but as someone who worked with plays AND musicals in high school, I know that it's impossible to get something perfect. The singing was phenomenal, and some of the actors themselves were very amazing. The problem with musicals in high school is the acting is always, always lacking because singing and/or dance are more important. This is actually one of the best high school musicals I've seen, and I am in LOVE with the actress for Elle. Her acting may have not been perfect, but I admire her ability to dance and move so well in heels, her superb singing voice, and her incredible stage presence. Also, her smiling face is so endearing.

Have you ever heard about "ARABESQUE" group, which had really big success in Japan, USSR and Eastern Europe (czcams.com/video/zIgFyJEo_QE/video.html) ? This was music of my youth. Everybody in 80's was Insanely crazy about them. One of singers was Asian. Never ever doubt of yourself!

This was GREAT. One of the best here in youtube. I love Elle, Emmett, Paulette, and Margot. Lots of talent and potential, I believe anything lacking would be on the director or the choreographer in this case, but it's probably their teachers so it's ok. The negative comments are freaking unneccessary, this is a high school production to showcase the kids, not pro. These commenters must not have been in a high school not focused on theatre; just the amount of students in the cast who can sing is amazing already lol

I think this was fantastic and in some cases, Better than the Broadway roles!! I saw this on Broadway and it is a VERY hard performance to reproduce, and for a High School play this was truly Very very good. I thought the Elle was Excellent and Paulette terrific!!

This was really good, and I really liked Emmett and Paulette! But one thing continued to annoy me throughout the show. The chorus. They didn't seem enthusiastic at all and just had a blank expression on their face! I'm in this show and the chorus has better facial expression. Other than that, this was great.

I really don't think the girl who played Elle was right for the part vocally, she did head voice on the parts that were supposed to be full chest and it sounder really bad

Daltoni C It's a high school. of course it's not going to be as good as Broadway. It doesn't matter if you have seen a million Broadway shows, it's okay to appreciate amateur theatre and recognize talent even if it hasn't been refined by years of training.

As with any high school production especially of this show, there are great things and not so great things, for anyone leaving negative comments. This clearly isn't Broadway, don't expect everything to be perfect. I played Elle this summer (shameless self plug, I posted the whole show on my channel so if you're one of those people thats seen every high school production of legally blonde that's on youtube you should check it out) and I'll admit there are definitely some cringeworthy moments, but there's also some great ones. For me, this isn't a show that has to be high-quality to be enjoyable, it's just a fun show!! For me, having played the role, I like this Elle, but I don't love her. She is beautiful and has a great voice and is peppy, but like many people have mentioned, her high belt really isn't there, which is a critical part of the role. Also, she doesn't have a strong shift, Elle's character arc is one of the best written in musical theatre and its just not there. This is just me being super nitpicky and probably no one even cares about my opinion HAHA but I'm bored so
hannahxoxo423 I actually just watched yours right before this, your voice is phenomenal! And I do completely agree with you, the character arcs in this show are absolutely amazing, and they didn't quite stand out as much as I would have hoped. It was a bit sloppy at places, most of the chorus parts were off, but high school theatre will never be perfect, and people are being extremely negative for no reason, it doesn't have to be flawless to be a great production

it makes me really happy seeing more Asians involved in this musical (especially in lead roles!)-most of the other high school and college versions I've seen rarely have Asian actors in it

It's produced by enthusiastic high school students, not professional actors, which some of them may become in a future. I didn't take an interest in who directed this show, I just filmed it for my kid. I believe, that Henry Gunn school music teacher took a major role in creation of this show. They are just kids. Do not take it too seriously.
best actors were emmet (his voice too!) and paulette in my opinion. Bad choreography and stage blocking overall but i know its hard to devote time to all areas of the show for one teacher. Music, set design, and harmonies were superb however.
They didn't even do the real bend and snap...

I believe they are! I did not expect such a great performance. Everyone, absolutely everyone did a great job! My regrets, that I forgot to turn on the external microphone for couple minutes, I think it was right after intermission. I have corrected the video, trimming the silent part, but if I upload the corrected version, I will have to remove this one. My guess, if so far I have only likes, I'm going to keep this one. Gleefan The story is Seller (the main blonde character) follows her ex boyfriend to Harvard law school to win him back but along the way she meets Paulette and Emmett, two people who show her she can be more than a pretty rich blonde girl, Elle then decides she loves the feeling of practicing law and finds out that the bubble she was living in was an ignorant blissful world.
Paulette stole the show and Emmett is so fierce.
