- In this video I revisit the FMS Atlas 6x6 build and bring it back to life. I add some SCX24 portal axles to round out the drivetrain and work properly with the SCX24 transmission attached to the big 370 brushed motor. The big Atlas is on the right track and turned out better than expected!

think its time for an 8x8 MAN KAT2 build :D
Lengthen the rear lower links a little. It will pivot the pinion angle and give you a little more clearance between tires.
These are a lot of fun. But FYI- FMS has discontinued the Atlas 6x6. The Hobby Plus CR18 Conqueror 6x6, same truck, may also be on the way out.
I just bought the joysog trx-m4 1/18 transmission skid plate combo to attempt to fit wish me luck can't wait for it to come in
The stock ESC in these has very poor low modulation and creates excess heat, definitely doesn't do any favors for crawling. SCX24 ESC/receiver will help pretty significantly.
The HobbyPlus CR18P Evo Two speed trans and skid has the same chassis hole mounts...
Would you do a review a Cheyenne 6x6 with potential upgrades that are available for it 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💯❤️
I just got a trx4m today so I’ll probably be picking your brain for what I should do
Excellent video love the custom build abomination or not it's part of the passion
This motor and transmission is completely different feeling with a better ESC that can handle it and just as important it needs an 11tooth pinion, that stock 16tooth I believe it comes with is half your issue. I can tell the throttle is jumpy and the motor is possibly browning out your ESC. Throw a 1/10 hobbywing 1080 in it or even better the ISDT70 Bluetooth ESC and you can tune your throttle curve and starting force, drag brake, everything. Combine that with ring and pinion geared portals and the correct gearing for the entire drivetrain and it will feel as close as you can get to a 1/10 and crawl very slow close to brushless with MORE top end and punch
Maybe try the new injora esc they come out with. I believe a 370 brushed motor will work with it
I know this might me a little off here but what about building a true class 2 comp right by the rules your comp trucks are awesome and would have trouble with some of the gates I see that the competitions a class 2 stock wide rig or class 1 stock rules I love you channel keep it going and your course is awesome I was just asking because u took a rig to a comp and it was the higher class where almost anything goes just some ideas and maybe you could run them in a comp in the lower classes and show it hope that helps
since mofo rc doesnt have the front and rear axels in stock anymore what other axels will work with the center portal axel
Yeah I couldn't deal with that noise but that's me. By the way, glad to hear of your promotion!
I put a v2 scx24 esc in my stock atlas. Its a lot quieter!
Atlas esc is cheap junk.
Why go with SCX axles? Couldn't you take two front portal axles from an FMS to make a middle axle? Never done it, but I'm curious to try.
Mainly because the rcawd motor combo is mated to an scx24 transmission. To make the overall gear ratios work I went with the scx24 axles
@CapeCrawlers I see! I do remember you saying it was wicked fast. It would be cool to have a Furitek brushless lit in there. Then again, part of the idea was to make it budget friendly. Sorry if I sounded mean, wasn't my intention. 😂
Why didn't you just go with a complete brushless setup?
Have a good day!
What hardware did you use when switching the linkage out? I'm trying to get mine built up but not sure how to switch linkage
I had to punch out the plastic pivot balls and run a screw straight through the mounting point. It’s a little sloppy but not terrible
Thanks for this tips. I also have to improve my Atlas 6x6. These Mofo SXC24 axles maybe the missing parts i need. I'll try that solution.👍
Your Atlas 6x6 seems a little too fast. It still doesn't run easy on slow speed, but you're close to your target, now.
Don't you think a FCX24 motor+transmission could slow down the rig on te rocks and make it smoother and pleasant ?
That is the configuration i'll try on mine.😉
Hey Adam 👋 please 🙏 please please please put the 68 pin tires from DJcrawler with flubs, imagine 6 huge wide meats 🍖 🙏
That reminds me, I wanna get the MEUS Racing axles for my TRX4M Chevy K10 High Trail & still wanna get the Injora +4mm Axles for my TRX4M Bronco.
❤
I am thinking about using those mofo portal axles on an injora scx24 buggy. How do you think the new injora 70mm swamp tires would fit on the buggy with the portal axles and c10 length links?love the channel!
Yo Adam, i found about an injora servo that has 7kg of torque that is apparently waterproof on amazon for 17 bucks that is also high voltage. I was wondering if you could do a review on it for the quality, cause 17 bucks is so cheap for a servo that has all of that. Im interested in the servo and wanna get it for my scx24 gladiator
Furitek has a brushless kit for it!!!
I feel like that was an absolute waste of time ...loud , jerky and seems incapable of crawling...I just see jam throttle and jump over the obstacle...sorry man but try again
And I will, because that’s the fun part!
@@CapeCrawlers yup the building and problem solving is the best part of RC
Nice! I put the same mofo axles on my Atlas 6x6 a few months ago and put some wide Mofo brass wheel hubs on some Mofo wheels and Injora mud terrain tires and longer shocks. It looks awesome, but I'm currently having some torque issues. I want to try a brushless combo in it. @mablesrc
