Family Feud is one of the longest running game shows of all time. So let's take a trip back to 1976 and work our way up to the present day. The show has changed hosts 6 times, seen the top and bottom of TV ratings, and given away millions of dollars in the nearly 50 years since its premiere.

Another banger man. I remembered seeing the Louie version for the first time and barely remembered Family Feud being on when i was a baby.
Also one thing i do like about Steve, if you’re a male and you crush Fast Money, he’ll purposely shove you or whacks you with the notepad😊😅
Great job with the history of one of my favorite game shows of all time.

1:05:24 it will be the last award it will win until the prize amounts increase or rules change because it has been stale since 2001. $20000 today not the same from Harvey’s first year hosting.
Yeah, was not much of a fan of Richard Dawson because you can easily see how bad his ego was. I liked Ray Combs and felt bad that he was getting replaced. Yes, at the end of his final episode, you can see Ray literally just walking off-stage. I loved Louie Anderson and though he did the show justice. I didn't see much of Richard Karn or John O'Hurley versions, but I do agree with John that the show has become more sexualized or sexually suggestive. I don't mind Steve Harvey as host, but wish they would stop with the over sexually suggestive survey questions.
Every Steve Harvey question is the same. It's just an obvious sexual question, then someone gives the obvious sexual answer and Steve does that stupid "open-mouth dumbfounded stare" reaction.

Louie Anderson was the very best host of that show!
Since he asked the prize money to go up to $20000 in 2000, it has not changed since. Be more fun if they did something about increasing payouts when a family does not win it in bonus round.
Richard Dawson and Ray Combs were both great! They will always be my favorites John O’Hurley wasn’t too bad.
With O’Hurley he told me exactly what he said in that quote that he was asked to do the show for another season even with low rating but he turned it down because he didn’t like the questioning of the show which is what made the current Steve Harvey version so popular.

The original version with Richard Dawson wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't good. I've watched several episodes & it always takes nearly 5 to 7 minutes or even longer for Dawson to start game play. He's a good host for his era, but does he always have to come out with an exhausting speech at the top of every single episode? Uh, Richard, can we start the game, please? He also seemed to whisper a lot of times. He also claims to kiss the female contestants for good luck. So why not kiss the male contestants? Don't they need good luck, too?
John O'Hurley was meh to me! He just seemed like he would point every answer to the board, irregardless if it was good or the stupidest thing ever & then move on to the next player without thinking much if at all of the dumbest answers.

This show was so great until Steve Harvey ruined it.
He never ruined it he’s a comedian so if there was a answer that didn’t make sense and wouldn’t be on the board to him he’d laugh and make you look like a fool but again he’s a comedian and he’s the longest running host of syndicated host of Feud

@@william1988-dec idc about awards. He turned it into a comedy show with a game show as a back drop. The game is no longer the star. Steve is now the star.
@@lostfan5054 Steve Harvey saved the show from cancelation. He has been hosting the show for over 10 years & I guarantee you he is going to be around for at least 10 more years. So, you are 100% sadly wrong about him. It also sounds like you dislike him because he is a winning success.
