I dyed my hair, every4 weeks. When I turned 70 I said I am done and let my hair grow out. At 71 I am now mostly gray and I love it. It’s me.

Wow. It makes you look 20 years younger. Beautiful. I started getting a lot of gray at 32. I had a newborn and 18 month old. My dad went gray in his 30s, I have a son in his 20s with a lot of gray. I’m 65 and I’m growing it out. I’m using the shampoo in 28-day color while it’s growing. And using a baseball cap. Your cut and natural gray is gorgeous. A lot of people I see have long messy hair that’s a yellowish gray and they look 20 years older. Thanks for the inspiration. Well done.

Hi 2115virgo13! Sorry for the super late response. I hadn't been on youtube for about year (big move so had to put everything on hold) so trying to respond to comments. I started graying around the same time. I wish I had stopped coloring years ago! BTW, I love your dogs! They are adorable!
You look terrific! Pretty lady before, even prettier after the big chop! I did the same thing, just gradually over time, not really aiming for any look. We added a few highlights to my dark brunette hair, then kept adding some more over time. We (my stylist) & I lightened the darker color when I went for touch-ups-my main intention being to make the roots less obvious b/c my hair grows quickly & I would go for color & trim every 4 weeks. Imagine my shock when I realized that my hair is platinum! I do have a few dark hairs & a couple of dark patches, but I am officially white-haired! I’m shocked every time I see myself in the mirror, though it’s been a good 6 months or more. Thanks for your video!

My plan is to keep layering my wavy hair to speed the grow out process along without cutting everything short.
So cute. I have been growing out my grey for about a year. I still have brown on the bottom but more grey mingled in and grey on top. Just so tired of coloring my hair and just went natural. Really love it.
Is it Grombre? I love Grombre-it's beautiful. Isn't it wonderful not to have to worry about coloring every month or so (for me it was every 2 weeks)? I love it too and wish I had ditched the dye years ago!

I'm all done with my transition. Now am always complimented. Hair is much healthier and thicker. Funny I thought I was going bald and it was grey hair🤣. You look great. The hard part is over.
I’ve been grey for a wicked long time and I am only 48 years old. I never dyed my hair. I like to see others being proud of their beautiful grey hair. I like my hair and I would not change it.
Hear hear. I'm 58, been gray for 10 yrs. I don't understand why it's so hard to embrace yourself for who you are and not by media standards. We are all gorgeous goddesses.
I love this! My biggest regret is dyeing my hair and spending so much time worrying about what others thought about. If I could go back in time, this is the one thing I would change. You are truly an inspiration.

Love your hair. Omg i did the same thing. March 2020 started my Grey hair grow out. August 2020 chopped it all off pixie but I still have some color. I believe it will take me another 6 to 8 months to be totally grey. I am so excited. I feel free and confident now. I can imagine how much better I will feel once the color is all gone.

I'm older and one month in with my growth. Dealing with the grey strip is a challenge but I have to forge forward regardless of the negativity.

5 hours every 6 weeks is how long I had to sit in the chair at the salon getting foils in my hair to lighten it. It was pure torture not to mention very expensive. I decided a year ago that I was done! No more nothing done to my hair, not even a haircut. I am 62 years old with thick healthly hair that comes down to my waist and it has several silver grey stripes throughout. I earned those grey hairs and I love them. And from the complements I get from strangers, they must look pretty darn good!
thanks, that is what I been thinking it is still money money money, and hours, so I have long dark dyed hair, and going to stop I decided cold turkey, being why not nobody will care. I always had long hair, so also think perhaps it will be fun to have all this crazy color, so I invested in hair care products to make it more healthy and not so flat and dry looking with all the touch ups. It is going to be interesting being dying my hair blue back till in mid 20's then dark browns till now, always dyed so have no ideal what color it will turn out to be being I never say any family with gray.

Thank you, Penny! I think it is interesting how our hair color kinda changes as it grows out each month. I really had no idea what it would look like until my 6th month and even then I wasn't sure. I was actually really shocked when I saw my hair after I got the big chop. I knew it would be white but didn't realize HOW white!

You look great! In my family we got white early staring at age 18 for my grandmother, mother, sister, me and our daughters. By the time we were in our twenties we had to go to permanent hair color. I am now 52 and wish I too could let mine grow out.

I'm going on 32, and it's not my few grey hairs that bother me. It's the poor health of my hair. When I was a kid, my barber trained a cowlick into my hair going against the natural grain of my scalp. By the time I was 27, I was going prematurely bald in earnest due to the cowlick. The area of the cowlick was in pain most of the time. The scalp was dry and crackly, the hair was breaking off whenever I touched it. And my hair looked crazy and frizzy all the time no matter what.
It's taken me the past 4 years to break the cowlick and get my roots to loosen up so that I can have a healthy scalp with healthy hair again. If all my hair comes back from the cowlick issue, it can be as grey as it wants!!

I like it short very cute
I am 52 originally jet black but I colour it dark warm brown now. I have one sister 1 year older than me who had brown hair, but started to go gray in her teens. Another sister 2 years younger and she went gray earlier than me. Both sisters are white and they look washed out. It's a pain having to colour my hair every 6 weeks, I will give it 8 years and go gray at 60 for sure, If I'm still around. There are people who look great with natural gray, but I expect you need to change make up colours and clothes to make it pop.

So decided Christmas 2019 to grow mine out...then Covid hit and it's a good job I had because I haven't been to the hair dressers since....but now it's really dark...with a few white streaks...and blonde ends...I think that soon it will look ok again...I am not cutting it though until it's long enough to cut off the blonde and it still be long...even though I m tempted to get a long bob ...🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️

I only have white on top of my head, the side are dark brown and the back as well is dark brown, I resort to dye my roots on top. Only. Mine wouldn’t match at all. If I let it grow out. Would have a streak going across from forehead to top. I don’t like it. Wish mine was spread out like your, then I would like to do the transition period of regrowth. But nay nay!

I’m 10 months in. I tried to ease my demarcation line by dying dark brown hair blonde. It ended up frying it. I feel so hideous when I look in the mirror right now. In addition I’ve gained 10 pounds over the last six months. I need to try to get the weight off so I can try a pixie I think
I'm confused....you have long hair with what looks like dyed ends again... Did you decide to let it grow out again? How long ago was that cut, anyway? Must've been at least a year! Are the ends really dark again, or is it just the light?

Hi Christine Feroli! I did not film my hair during the cut or even during the time I was growing out my gray hair. I actually took photos so I could see my progress and hadn't thought of sharing on CZcams until later. I made the video after the cut which is why I used photos to show my progress.
