On Valentine's night, 1981 a fire at the Stardust disco in north Dublin killed 48 young people after they were trapped in a burning building. More than 200 were injured.
The Frazer family lost their siter Thelma in the fire. Thelma went to the nightclub with her partner Michael who also died that night.
The family are devastated over Thelma's loss and wish to highlight her story.
The families still have not received a state apology and a new inquest is due this year. We are with the families of the Stardust diaster in their quest for truth and justice.

Heartbreaking for the parents to pass away so soon afterwards. Too much for a family to endure.

I was 12 years old when this happened. I was sitting in a dentists waiting room early on Saturday morning when I heard a news report at 10am on a radio. It was the first time I heard of the Dublin City Morgue. I'm terribly sorry for the loss of Thelma and the impact on your family. I hope the findings of the recent inquest brings all the Frazers, and all the families, some peace.

Horrendous story.. these families deserve some closure, the actual truth. Very well put together. Its beyond sad. I can’t even imagine what going through this was / IS like.. I live local to where the fire happened and passing that building regularly makes my skin crawl. These families deserve the truth and “justice”. God love them 🙏

I can't imagine what the Frazer, Farrell and the other 46 families have gone through since the night of that horrendous fire up until today. So many people were affected, from the families who lost someone to those who were injured both physically and mentally. They all need answers, even if it is the answer they don't want to hear. It's now 42 years later, its time the truth was told. Its clear to see from your video that Maurice still suffers from survivors guilt even though he wasn't there. Such a gentleman deserves happiness, but his life changed so dramatically after Thelma's death, which is so sad. I pray that he, along with his remaining family and all the others affected, get the answers they so desperately need. God Bless you all xx

Maurice , I. Think you’re very , very brave to Give this story . Cos Thelma Had her entire future stretched in front of her . And maybe Even with Michael cos they could have had a great future together & maybe Even would have done very well for themselves . And I’m glad Maurice Didn’t go cos he’d have gone in after her and he’d have gone with her so he wasn’t meant to be there . That was Gods plan , so that if the girl didn’t go then he wouldn’t . Maurice , you wouldn’t be Here doling this documentary. And anyway it wasn’t Your time .

I was 12 years old when this utterly tragic and horrendous fire happened. I have spent years intrigued by this tragedy and watched so much stuff and documentaries related to it over the years and followed the families fights for justice. Your documentary was deeply moving in memory of your sister and her boyfriend you have done them and the other Stardust victims and survivors proud. I had never been to Artane up to last year when I visited the Van Gogh immersive experience. As I was going into the industrial estate I happened upon the memorial and it was profoundly emotional for me. I was with my son and told him the whole story. I have been engrossed again also the last few days which is how I came upon your story these are the stories everyone needs to hear the simple family stories which created a ripple effect for an entire community and wider. To those that died on that night may they all RIP now finally after the verdict on the 18 April 2024. May the survivors and all of the families and effected find some solace too. To all those that were called upon and rose up to try to help in any way on that night or so many nights after to just do your job in exceptional circumstances..well done. Thank you Maurice and your siblings for this very moving story of your family and Thelma and her partner.

I remember it well, watching the news footage, I think I remember politicians saying they would find out what happened, but it was only lipservice, its disgusting to think no one in government was their to help the families, no proper investigation and traumatised families having to fork out for solicitors, disgusting, our hearts go out to you all. Traumatised communities to this day, and still no proper investigation, what the heck is wrong with your government, 42 years of no justice from your goverments, what are they hiding. Praying for you Maurice and all the families that you will finally get justice.

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.
