Still the best game for atmosphere I've ever been to and doubt it will be beaten . I remember at 15 being in the paddock below the C stand facing the forest fans in seats newly introduced in the ossie end. My dad was fortunate to get us tickets the Friday night before. What people forget is at this time forest were top of the old first division and we were bottom of the old second division for this fa cup third round tie. Thanks for posting.

What do you mean top of the first division? Liverpool were about ninety points clear as usual.

I was there on the Popside with my best friend Wayne. My jeans got caught on the barrier spikes as we tried to get on to the pitch at the final whistle

Amazing scenes. The noise in the Pop Side that day made a huge impression on me aged 16. Archie was brilliant.

    Derby County Videos,
Thanks so much for providing this exciting and fiercely-fought cup tie from the Baseball Ground. Great attacking display from County against a rather
disappointing Forest. Dedicated play for Derby by Gemmill and Wilson-really only Swain notable for Forest in front of enthusiastic crowd!

Clough went to look for Taylor after this match but Taylor wasn't in his office, so they didn't make it up. A real shame.

Strange times not a mention of Forest being his old club where he won big things when Gemmill scored, and Robertson going straight down the tunnel when subbed instead of watching the rest of the game

For all the greatness of Clough he had a handicap. Himself. The situation here with Peter was all about Clough not having control & thus chaos ensued. Peter scampered & I don't blame him because he knew what was coming!

These were the matches to be at, 30,000 in the old Baseball Ground & Notts Florest to humiliate. I was "stood" in the Normanton End for this match with one foot on the ground for most of it. Archie Gemmill ran this game, what a fabulous player even at this late stage of his career .. still looks as fit as a flea when I see him walking around today.

BASEBALL ground atmosphere was fantastic when the fans got behind the Rams.
VERY sad that Cloughie & Taylor's relationship came to this, but here's the proof Clough without Taylor, not so good.

That is a good pitch for the Baseball Ground ie there is still a lot of that green stuff shown. Two months later and it's just mainly mud & sand. But you got great games. Unlike now club pitches gave another aspect on the game creating chaos & subterfuge. Now it's part grass & plastic & boring. And no sign of mud. It's like that on all divisions. Don't watch it, watch this!
