I like it when Andrew talks about and identifies plants trees and mushrooms.
I like the vids brian, and yes i do like it too when andrew speaks on zoology
Trees and mushrooms eh?
Thanks
I was shocked to see the tombstone of Archie Smith in the park! That was my uncle who only lived a few months. Alford and Elva were my grandparents. I had no idea he was buried there. My family must have once had land in what is this area of the park. I still have family that live in nearby Oneida and I own a house there! There are lots of bears in the area- glad you took precautions with separate cooking and sleeping spots.
Sorry we're just now responding to this, but wow! That is an incredible find. Have you been able to visit since?
@@AdventureArchives Hi guys! Love your videos! I’ve not been back since then, but my next visit I plan to hike out and look for the grave. Thanks for all the great adventures you share with us!
Such a great episode! My favorite line is Brian’s “Someone needs to stay alive.”
Thanks so much for watching, glad you enjoyed it! :D
This is a very golden episode
True! very warm, gold colors :)
Andrew whispering: 'everyone is still sleeping so I'll collect some firewood and get a nice fire for them to wake up to. Tip-toes to nearby branch...CHOP! CHOP! CHOP! CHOP!.....CHOP! CHOP! CHOP! hahaha
Thing is he said when dusk broke lol, think it's sunrise

It quietly cuts wood or defends honor.
The weight is 1.6 pounds in the sheath.
Fit on a hip belt or below either knee.

Thought the same thing! haha..
This is the most professional- looking hiking channel I’ve come across!
That's the longest I've seen your knife unsheaved, Andrew. To me that speaks more about the man than the knife. I love these videos :-)
Theres a lot of reasons why I love this channel, but I think one of the biggest ones is that every video reminds me of human curiousity and community. I always feel like every video has messages that I need to hear at that very moment, and during this video I found myself remembering growing up in a forest and wanting to explore every part of it. Wonderful video as always 💐
As a new subscriber that's going back and bing watching all your past episodes I'm amazed that your gear has basically not changed and Andrew is still in a basic tarp! Your all about getting outdoors and prove that gear and equipment isn't as important as people make it out to be! And yet your video quality is the best of any outdoor channel I've ever seen and you must spend a lot on camera equipment!
I just about choked with laughter from the "Home Improvements" skit! Great video! ❤
man these videos are just the perfect escape from a global pandemic!!
Yesss, one hour and 26 minutes I can avoid studying - thanks guys!
Looks like its an extended lunch break for me.
I am 70yrs old...I lived some of that sort of LITTON FARM life...there's nothing quite like it...the stove, the spring house , the garden, the old house, the barn...oh, for a simpler time...smile. You guys have no real idea how sweet it was....explore more.Ding how!

"If a man says he is not afraid of dying, he is either lying or is a Gurkha." The Khukuri is a weapon carried by the Gurkhas. A fellow Nepali viewer here. Great going guys.
Sure, now, a bloody good knife ; but
you can't go throw it worth a damn.
The headband of solitude was rudely interrupted by a passing car LOL. I like how this group embraces its Asian heritage, though they are thoroughly American.
You guys need to stay on youtube for a very long time. LOVE your work. And the music is original I see, so no copyright BS to bog you down.
Superb! Y'all are just the best. The new intro lives rent-free in my head.
Thank you so much! Glad you like the new intro :D
Beautiful! I live in Western NC, so I'll have to give South Fork a visit. I always love the time and care put into these videos.
Definitely give it a visit, and another National Recreational Area near you Mount Rogers in Virginia.
OMG Guys I needed this episode :) I just got back from hospital and I need a little sunshine in my life right now. Thank you!!:)

Your videos always bring me peace and serenity. I use the ones I've already watched to fall asleep. This would be an awesome place to revisit in the spring for the rhododendron bloom, although very beautiful in fall. Great video and music as usual. Loved it
I did an overnight there about 4 years ago with some friends. It was early November. It was pouring rain and when we started out it was 48 degrees. Sometime in the night the rain stopped, but a cold front passed through and we woke up to 16 degrees. Most memorable miserable trip ever, but I still love the place-it is gorgeous down there.
Dang! I live on the Kentucky side between the BSF and the Cumberland Falls. Excited for this episode, I’m sure I’ll see some areas I know!
:D Hope you like it!
Hoping to recognize some spots👍 A bunch of us just earned end-to-ender status by hiking the Sheltowee Trace, a trail which runs directly through The Big South Fork. Every year about 120 to 150 or so folks join the Sheltowee Trace Hiker Challenge and walk the 340 mile trail that extends from Morehead KY to Burnt Mill Bridge TN. It was an epic experience!
Awesome job! This is on my list!
Hey Jungle, how long did that hike take you to complete?
@@hoosierproud7718 The hiker challenge takes 11 months. If you would like to know more check out www.sheltoweeTace.org
@@jungledbackpackingwanderer9025 Thanks for the info.
@@lesliewatts2173 Thanks. Let me know if I can help Leslie. 👍
An amazing episode guys! The way you shot the fire segments was beautiful!🔥 The music during the cave explore was fantastic! I felt shades of Pat Metheny. The pine needle carpet is AA's red carpet. Adventure in the quilted forest! 🤣 The shoutouts once again shone. Thomas is the perfect Wilson. A big thank you to Sunjan for being the catalyst that started it all! 🙏 Well done guys! 👍
Thanks so much Jason! Glad you liked the episode. Thanks so much for your comment, and we're always grateful for your support! :D
@@AdventureArchives When an Adventure is at hand, AA always delivers! Thank you guys! 🙏👍
Nothing like fall, so beautiful for a hike. Love the colors and fall plants.
Now you can add "spelunking" to your resumes. Thank you for the beautifully shot video.
Haha thank you so much! It would be really cool to go legit spelunking some day.
@@AdventureArchives just look up the closest grotto to your area. If yall are still based here in Indiana, Central Indiana Grotto has a fb page to connect with them. Many of my friends are members and I've done many trips with them. There is also Eastern Indiana Grotto and Evansville Metro Grotto. Its a whole new world underground, come join us !
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this video. Some parts, I was in awe, some parts I laughed so hard it's a wonder I didn't pop some internal stitches. (Just had surgery) Loved it! You guys are going to keep me company while I heal up. ☺
I sure appreciate you gentlemen. I
Live in East Tennessee, Knoxville, and have really enjoyed thru my adult life feeding lucky to live near two of most special places on this planet of ours. Look forward to more education, insight and inspiration.
Great trip and interaction, y'all. A 1000 years ago - I'm 82 now - my buddies at UCLA and long after would let me go where they went at my own speed but call after me to be sure I hadn't fallen off a cliff or been eaten by horned frogs - cerebral palsy's forever! : ). Effectively that made me know I'd missed nothing and lived a full life. FWIW that's the best gift anyone can get or give. Bluntly, I'm tied for luckiest dude who ever lived.
Like the extensive knowledge of Andrew about flora and fauna of the forest. That adds tremendously to the enjoyment of your videos, guys. Keep it up!
Another epic Adventure Archive episode guys! Keep up the National Geographic quality work for this channel.
Gosh! I don't know how in the world I have missed this channel. I just discovered it this morning. So incredible. You guys do the most incredible job not to mention what wonderful personalities and characters that you all three have. Big South Fork is one of my favorite places to camp and hike. At 71 years old I still go tent camping there a lot. Thank you so much for your hard work that you do I can't wait to order a t-shirt. Maybe I will be fortunate enough to run into you guys somewhere on the trail it would be an honor just say hello and hopefully things will change so that I can shake your hands or do an elbow bump. Love you work. Please stay safe and healthy out there.
My favorite CZcams channel! When I hike it is therapeutic and so is your channel, thank you AdventureArchives!!
I guess I know what I'm watching after work tonight!
so glad to see you all again. each episode renews my faith in humanity and my love of nature. thank you
I love the autumnal hue of the hike...almost looks like mythical creatures could hide behind trees and stare as you walk by.
Not mythical but Sasquatch!
Every time I hear the explorers voice, I take a drink. 🤣
I love this! It's cool to see you guys in places that I have been in. Thanks for bringing back memories by letting us tag along!
Have to say you all have the very best hiking channel on the Tube. I’ve been to many of the same places mushrooms 🍄 are my bag . Great friends the best of times. 👍👍
How cool would it be if Brain grew his hair out after Andrew. All three would have long hair at different times!
Watching your videos reminds me of when I was younger. I still go out and explore. But I let life get me too busy and lost touch with all my friends. Take it from someone that knows. Never loose contact with your friends. Don't let life get you to busy.
My husband and I ran upon a very large solid white wolf there. It was HUGE.
Whoa!
Thank you for the plant I.D. ! enjoy the Tennessee videos
Chicken of the woods in intro.... YUM, good stuff here
Very informative video, especially on the flora. I also think it is so smart that you eat in a separate area from sleep-great for bear country. Really enjoyed the video. I have never seen Magnolia tree leaves so large.
We missed you guys !!!
You guys are the most positive on CZcams
We love you guys !!!
Just to clarify (in case nobody else did) the word "clift" is a misspelling of "cleft", which is a fissure in a rock formation. Totally different thing from a cliff, so that sign was definitely wrong. Great video guys!
Thank you guys for giving us such quality content!
Another great AA episode! 👍
Thanks, Bob! Appreciate your support :)
I came across this video and decided to check it out, after it started I thought...ugh, it's an hour and a half. But it is a very easy to watch video. I search constantly for new places to hike and this has made my list! Thanks
Just started watching your site. I immediately subscribed. It is the best travel one I've seen. You explain everything along the way to make us feel like we are right there with you. I grew up hiking in the woods of Pennsylvania and miss it so much. Haven't done it in over 30 years and now at 71 I'm physically unable to with blood clots in my lungs.. so watching your site makes me feel like I'm right there hiking with you. I also love the stories you tell. I almost lost it when he said fuzzy toilet paper. Keep up the great videos. Now I'm off to watch another of your videos. Stay safe all of you. Thumbs up.
I love big south fork! I hope I'm home in time to watch to the premiere night!
We hope so too! :)
I can't wait until work is over so I can go on an adventure!
wonderful to see a new adventure, thank you all
I wish this could premiere a little earlier for us folks that have to be up at 3:00 in the morning
Dang that is super early! We'll try for an earlier premiere next time!
The A7S III shines in low light amazing 🙏🔥❤️
I love NATURE AND YOUR VIDEOS.
In college I took Backpacking to satisfy a PE credit. Our "Final" was an overnight trip to Big South Fork. Stunning place.
I love your intelligent commentary ..... I live in Guatemala --- love your channel !!
Wow!!! I felt like there was so much more to
See and explore! So much more rock formations, caves etc! Really great fun lots to see!!!
A serious contender for one of my favorite episodes (although I love all of my AA episode-children equally). Hahaha, thanks for another great one!
Another great video guys!
Just stunning. I feel like I just went away for an hour.
Loved the trip, got my AA fix for the day! Thought it was funny how everyone was eatin their own meals, so used to watching y'all share your food. We'll get back to that one of these days. To your next adventure!
I'm glad you all had another enjoyable experience in my home state of Tennessee. Your videos are a big part of why I started backpacking.
I love watching you guys.🤗💕✌️
I watched all your episodes and loved it, especially the detail on each plant.
Fabulous! This is the only channel I've found that discusses the flora and fauna during the hike. Very awesome
This is really well shot. Looks waay better than most of the bushcraft videos I see on CZcams.
There are really beautiful shots in the video guys! Awesome job. Love the shot at 37:50, the tunnel of trees!
Thank you so much! Glad you like it, and thanks for watching :) It's always cool to come across a "corridor" in the forest like that
I live 5 miles from the BIg South Fork.
i live 4.5.............hours away 😫
That was Breathtaking of a hike! Thank You for sharing your Adventure with us!!
Soooooooooo awesome. Thank you for sharing
I just found this channel this morning. I've been binge watching all day. Everything about this channel is awesome. The videos are so well put together too. You've inspired me in more than one way. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures.
As always... Awesome!!!!
Wow. That fire had a purple/blue hue to it. This is my favorite channel.
Being very curious about the "misspelling" on the sign, I found that clift is a variant of cleft and that the words come from the word cliff. However it means "a fission, fissure, or split in something". So it kind of implies there will be a cliff but is focusing more on the fact that there will be a fissure in the ground and not like a mountain cliff overlooking a large valley.
Your adventures are our adventures. We feel your smiles and your sighs... Sending you love from the Philippines
.
Excellent!!
just rewatching the episode. this is great has some amazing music.
This was absolutely cool... Couldn't stop watching it..
literally can't wait to see this, sandstone ilp endemics are so cool
Good to see you guys back on trail! Great adventure!
Excellent as always.
i always picture me and my friends when i see your vids! thanks for putting all these places on the map and your awesome storytelling!
You guys are so entertaining!!The end segment was hillerous!
It looks like a great hike. Thanks guys. ✌🏼
Moving to Tennessee next month and watching this just made me even more excited!! Can't wait!!!! I'm definitely the one who sleeps in, snug as a bug in my hammock...need more people that like to get up and start the fire. Cheers to them and the Coors haha. Great video as always ya'll: ))
Great trip video guys! Definitely somewhere I want to backpack at someday.
I'm so glad I found this channel! I'm going to binge this channel for a really long time! Awesome job, guys!
Did y’all pass through or go near a town called Oneida? That’s where my family is from. Both sets of grandparents lived on the same road 5 miles apart
A little further north you could hike. the sheltowee trace (aka moonbow trail) north from Cumberland Falls towards laurel lake. One of the prettiest waterfalls in KY (dog slaughter falls).
Great video from Tennessee!
A fun Episode....enjoyed the journey with you all as I relax and eating my dinner after a long 12.5hrs at work :)
Awesome episode
Excellent
I loved seeing this. Have hiked that trail. You all made it look easy, I know it is a challenge! Good to see Big South Fork again
right there with you on the magnolia tree leave usage....perfect!
This video inspired me to stick with my hand saw, fantastic video as always chaps
My stomping grounds 💫. Much love..y’all’s content is great!
