Love hiking in the rain (although not thunderstorms!) My favourite experience hiking in the rain was seeing a wolf (who I assume did not hear/smell us because of the rain). He ran off as soon as he saw us. And nearly walking on a fawn. I was busy taking pictures of the mother and didn't even notice him - so quiet. He didn't move until I was so close he kicked mud on me (and my camera lens) when he ran away.

Back in April, I did this same hike. I did it with a group of friends as one of my first hikes. We did the entire trail, the other guys pushed me and the trail really beat me. I had only done one other hike earlier in the year. When we reached the same spot you did at 2:39 we continued back around and finished the south loop. Then hiked back up and did the north loop. Where you were at 2:39 is where a giant rainstorm came in, everything got soaked. It was a long journey. At 37:59 we camped at the same spot except we had like 20 people in the camp. I was very very tired by that point aswell.
    But definitely a learning experience.
I do however recommend Zaleski state park. That was an absolutely great hike.

I’ve hiked a lot of trails in Ohio/Wayne NF, I think it’s good I always passed on Wildcat Hollow. Too much access for ATVs and apparently people dumping trash and stuff. Noise, oil & gas extraction. Rather go somewhere more remote. North Country Trail & Ohio Buckeye Trails thru Wayne have some nice stretches without easy road access so less trash & people. A lot of our trails do get overgrown. I know the heat too. Sometimes you can go from humid 75° day to 32° the next night! Plus pop up rain storm in between.

Sasquatch live in the forest & are active at night. They also imitate
Owl sounds! Along with knocks & tree breaks! Also various
Tree & branch forms like tee peet's & other shapes. They have yellow eye shine at night. Sometimes they
Yell with grumble sounds! Yelling or whistling back at them
Makes them angry! They make all those sounds at each other
    For a reason important

Just finished overnight backpack trip here. Made plans with hope of minimal overgrowth being early spring....epic fail. The thorny bushes were so bad I felt like I was bushwhacking instead of being on an established trail. I would estimate 80% of the trail is horribly overgrown. On the up side, almost all the campsites are really nice! Face net helps with the nonstop spider webs.

Another fun episode, especially all the food sequences. Those caramel apples were ridiculous, though Andrew has a great eye for international sweets. I was thinking that maybe the chicken of the woods would make a good pulled pork sandwich substitute...
Comment about those woods - by all indications they have been human-handled to the max. With good management they could eventually recover within the next century or so, though many of the exotic species will never be truly eradicated. Still, such places yet retain much of their biodiversity, as your video clearly shows. Thanks for the detailed look, especially all the fungi. Imaginative ending too, you guys rock!

No need to work hard to do this. Just record it, then set up a Patreon page like these guys and have your viewer's pay for all your fun trips. These guys have 642 Patrons! And they are still, according to them less than half way to their goal of Patrons. Not only will you have your viewers pay for your fun camping trips. You will get rich asf! Lol.

The perfect honey blossoms. I love when my bees forage on the asters and the goldenrod. The bees love the autumn Olive too.

I had found a honey bee tree by listening and following the sound once. I stood in a field that was not being farmed. The government pays to let the grasses and other plants grow wild to encourage the growth of wild life. I followed this low, deep hum noise I swore to my nephew I heard. Eventually we came to a huge Oak that had a massive amount of bees covering a hole in the trunk. Right in front of that tree were the Autumn Olive bushes teaming with honeybees. It was quite a sight.

Did this trail several years ago in late spring. It wasn't so over grown at that time of the year, but with the temperature in the mid 90s and humidity to match, had to stop to dump the water from the sweat out of my shoes every mile.

Just did this trail yesterday. It was my wife and i's 1st ever backpacking trip:) Watching you guys really helped her feel better about going. You really show the fun in backpacking by making it an adventure in looking for different plant species and eating treats. We saw all the pawpaw groves, but couldn't find any pawpaw fruits. We had a great time, and oh did we learn a lot of what to change for our next adventure!! Thanks guys!

Been binging (in no particular order) all your uploads for a few weeks now. I'm enjoying the content, & so does my mum who watches with me occasionally. She was sad abt the "health" of this forest haha.
On a different note, I'm commenting for the first time because that old school house at the start reminded me of the opening lines of the poem "The Village Schoolmaster" by Oliver Goldsmith. :)

Oh! I remember that HOT weekend! I was at the Ohio Renaissance Festival that Saturday. It was 85+ degrees! Unusually hot for October. It's too bad all the 'encroachment' and litter was on the trail... and the invasive species. Here in Southern Ohio, you can't get away from the honeysuckle! There is hardly any more true old growth forest and native undergrowth any more. It's all honeysuckle!

The outback in a rain storm is also very delicate because it put s the individual at his utmost test for balance; I mean to just enjoy the rain somehow.. by managing to keep warm by not getting bone soaked, and then maybe just having a cup of green tea and just saying "man, I'm so glad I was out here during this 🦄🦓🦄🦓🦄🦓😉😊😂🤣
