He give's me chills everytime, not just chills he gives my goosebumps when he hit's that high note at 2:02. He did amazing. He should've gone farther, but I just think it was that STevie soneg that got him the next week. But he had my support right away, whooooo.
I agree with you 100%. This is an incredible performance and believe me, his version is better than Earth, Wind & Fires. Luv EW & F but Baby, this version is amazing. Sway you Rock !!
Yeah definitely top 5 most talented singers of the season. I think it's down to political BS if you ask me. If he were either black or white he would have been in the top 12.
Well, the fact there there were Filipino finalists hasn't escaped me. The thing is that they're all filipino (asian) women, which are - by American standards - considered more desirable than their male counterparts. So in part you are right, they appeal to the American audience better; on basis of race. I'm majoring in Political Science so perhaps I'm more fine-tuned to the underlying complexities of it all(or perhaps this is the reason I'm reading too much into it). A white guy with those pipes
Producers have 'the ear' for a reason and if I were an artist, I'd love for a producer to give me some real feedback. I dunno what Paula's doin there, but I would listen to any word Randy or Simon would say. Many of you may disagree, I don't care, but about 99% of what Simon says is correct and adequate.
@@miss4330 the biggest producers, Quincy Jones, Dave Foster, Jimmy Iovine, Clive Davis…NONE of them sing. But they know how to sell a record. And you’re right marketability is always a factor. Trust me, I’m pinoy and a musician in the industry and I agree…there’s hundreds more Sway Penala’s out there that simply mimic. Talented? Sure. But what else you got?
@@pastense yeah, they’re looking for the almighty X factor to sell you a “super star”. In the end it’s never really the sellers who we remember. We remember the actual singers and song writers in my opinion. The business aspect is annoying to me. Ideally every singer would write their own lyrics since that’s where the money is at.
@@miss4330 sadly, it’s been this way since the late 70s and gets worse each decade. Honestly, you don’t need talent shows or even big name producers to make good music. Becoming famous is a whole other thing, but the talented artists are out there if you know where to look. We don’t need to rely on the big wigs anymore these days. Until the industry changes, which I doubt it will.
this was not awesome actually...i thought it was kinda weird......uh..lol listening to it more i wish i could add more but i can't..2:02-2:05 is the only really good part. lol.
This was probably Sway's best performance on the show. It all just came together. That was awesome.
Hearing this version and him hitting that high note still gives me goosebumbs like the first time i watched live on tv 2 years ago

Simon can’t sing and 70% of Idol winners won based off of their marketability, not pure talent. As is usually the case.
