The insane thing is, that the female voice giving the alert messages in these old MD aircraft, is NOT computer synthesis. It is a woman that deliberately was told to speak in this dystopian 1970s computer stakkato voice during recording. There is a CZcams video of her explaining and recreating this.
Bitchin Betty kinda hot for her age
good old bitchin betty
Do you have a link to this video?
@@leogaspar007 They're referring to this video: czcams.com/video/r0AK4yxBGnM/video.html (However many people are claiming she is not the real voice)
@@Julia-qo6gi Thank you!
damn, there's so much aircrafts on the queue we are all excited about, it feels like it's taking eternity to release, this one, pmdg 777 and FlightFactor also, FlybyWire a380... i just can't wait :)
thanks for another quality video
Inibuilds A350 as well
I have done my share of jump seating on this beast and there are a few noticeable things: First, the horz stab on this thing is small. Therefore it is not anywhere near as forgiving as the DC-10, which my old DC drivers tell me was a wonderful airplane. The big issue is at slow speeds, any pitch movement will cause some pretty big oscillations. To stay in level flight you need about 3-4 degrees nose up to not sink fast. Landing speeds are faster in this airplane and at least 5 degrees nose up is not unusual over the numbers. The big challenge in landing this airplane is to mitigate the bounce…because it will bounce. Banging it on will cause a big bounce, hence the pitch above 5 degrees at touchdown.
You are right, if you were on the speed brakes all the way down, that isn’t normal. That said, it’s important to remember that this airplane is over powered, so getting the power right in the decent is tricky until you get used to the airplane.
As for the climb, the thing is a rocket. The FDX and UPS guys will get to 10000 ft in under two minutes, and 18000 in under 5 minutes. The after takeoff checklists happen at 18000 ft because they are there so fast the workload is a bit heavy until then. I have seen deck angles above 20 degrees in the first and second stage climbs with no bleeding of speed. The only two other aircraft that have that kind of climb performance is the 757-200 and the A220.
I look forward to more videos. This will be fun to fly when the bugs are ironed out.
Thanks for making more videos about the MD11! Happy the mishap was able to be solved hopefully!
That fuel flow is just hilarious.
Great video, as always! It's awesome seeing you depart out of my home airport. IniBuilds did such a fantastic job making it true to life, especially with the terminals. I can't believe it's free! KMKE deserves more love.
Wasn't free for xbox😢
Cant wait when AeroDynamics DC-10 arrives ,I just love those classic 3jets.They even said that it will be study level ,and its amazing for freeware aircraft.I'm also hoping for your tutorials Emanuel when the plane is out 😁
Huge! Thanks for the great video as always
Wish PMDG share test flight videos for the 777 MSFS like TFDi 😔
Wait, by christmas? They said that we need to wait couple of weeks. Right?
can't wait to do this in MD11
My sister used to live above an ambulance station in Germany. Those sirens get into your head lol.
Thanks for this clear tutorial. How do you get the CG information from? Thanks!
It’s weird how the sound inside the cockpit noticeably changes when you pan side to side, compared to looking forward 🤷
Exactly! Its like in the ini A320N, I experienced a similar situation there :/
those engine sounds on departure sounded fairly quiet i don't know if they're that quiet irl but i would've thought them to be louder.
Its still shitty
The engines in the MD11 are very far back from the cockpit, so they're not as loud as a 767 for example. But I agree the sounds should be tweaked a little bit before release.
That dirty livery 👌🏻😩
Love the content btw.. it’s “YOU-KER” 6 departure. Milwaukee is a great airport
That's awesome. I didn't realize Ueck' got his own departure. For anyone else stumbling onto this and being curious about the name, Bob Uecker was a baseball player for the local Milwaukee Braves team back in the 60's, and is from Milwaukee. After retiring from baseball, he joined the now Milwaukee Brewers in 71 as their radio announcer. He's been doing it ever since (he just turned 90) and is loved by fans for his great personality.
He's also able to be seen in the baseball movie "Major League".
@@aaronwhite1786 Cubs fan here and I do like me some Bob Uecker. Just a bit outside my city of Chicago.
@@CellBlok69wLamp Uecker, like Rigley, is something everyone can universally enjoy.
HI ove your content . Just a quick question do you have motion blur turned on ?
Cincinnati mentioned 🙌🙌
Was in Memphis years ago for training with NorthWest when Memphis was their hub
love
What's up with the nose wheel angle parked on bay, cold and dark at the start ?
it’s in the bug tracker as far as I know so they’re aware of it
How do you feel the aircraft operates relative to the $80 price tag?
Justified price?
That'll all depend on how it'll eventually evolve. Right now by far not. But it's still early access so it doesn't represent the final product.
We also got to keep in mind the MD-11 is a rather unpopular plane so the customerbase will be smaller than for example for an A320. You'll sell less copies so you need to offset the development cost by asking a higher price.
Oh man, being from Milwaukee, I just scooped this offer up instantly, even though I don't have MSFS (yet).
Starting when I was a kid, my favorite thing to do was to go to the viewing spot at the end of Runway 19R (you can see the cars sitting there at 31:30) and watch the planes takeoff. It was always cool to me, because they posted the Ground ATC frequency and you could tune your car radio to listen in on the pilot communications.
Now, any time I go back home to visit family, I'll swing by the airport and just hang out and watch the planes fly out. Seeing an MD-11 departure was definitely one of my favorites, since they look like they just fly practically straight up out of there on the 3 engines. The KC-135's are also fun to see, breaking up the usual 737's, Airbuses and regional flights.
I have to note, that's the second time in your recent MD-11 videos the nose has a pitch up moment after landing. I don't think that's at all realistic.
Really not sure I’m not really impressed of the cockpit texture around the cockpit windows and the sounds when you turn the view around the cockpit. Will just wait for the 777 and the F version
Weird flight model
I went out their discord server. I can't stand that they continue hating you. You don't deserve it, since you're such a nice person, and you're sponsoring them. An uneconomical choice..
Idk, btw nice review as always! ❤❤❤
The plane looks amazing, the sound much less.
Not even considering buying this because of TFDI's former policy of BSing you in their Discord!
Same. This shit won't fly. No pun intended.
There are rotten appels in every organization or company it's about how to deal with those individuals. Can't imagine that everyone in their company is like that.
I believe they sorted it.
@@HammieNL Then don't hire rotten apples. Idc.
Oh it's okay now. I've seen in his pinned post that the creator of this addon apologized to him.
Looks quite nice, but that takeoff roll...man that was an anti-climax. The sounds are very basic and well...wrong. Also no shaking or rattling. It was like it was on rails. I know this is early access, so hopefully they will work on those things before release, as right now it is nothing like the real thing. Just watch this short clip of a real MD11 takeoff and you will see/hear the stark difference: czcams.com/video/I1hababCY18/video.html
How to download?
It's at the moment only available to Collectors Edition pre-sale buyers. Not sure when it'll be officially out.
Threre are speculations you didn`t pay to get this TFDi MD11. How did you get it?
He's a part of QA now
@@swagger897 Because someone gifted him a copy of the CE (he didn’t payed for). The reason why he is now a QA tester is for preservation. He basically got the MD11 not legally, he got it illegally from a legit CE owner who just send his copy to him…
I can understand giving him a legitimate copy of the addon but I do not understand giving access to the QA team.
@@joona7887 They got forced to give him a QA role since he already got a illegal copy where he is not supposed allowed to to make video’s with
@@dutchflightsimpilot7447not allowed to make videos? What?
ground physics and roll beahaviour at high speed still off. And I say this as sim pilot with no real world airliner experience. These airliners in MSFS just do not have the same shluggish inertia like in xplane.
Already paid for this aircraft, but it will be my last time. And Ive not been impressed with TFDi attitude on discord. Some of these devs are better to remain silent than make comments that confirm their immaturity and arrogance.
I will not spend any money on this company anymore. they really should learn how to treat their customers
textures look horrible. worse than freeware aircraft. and they ask for 80 USD for it?
Same I agree with@maffarick
It’s going to be sad when FedEx and UPS retire these planes by more 777 and 767 🥹
