There is nothing called Datta Purana. There is Dattatreya story mentioned in Shri Markandeya Purana and Devi Bhagavata Purana..
@@drvk999 Honestly my knowledge is very limited in these subjects. Recently somebody guided me to read Datta Purana and I ordered and got the book as well. Agreed with you. in the book also it was written that one of the Sages collected extracts of various puranas etc relating teaching of Sri Datta and the book is called as Datta Purana.

Guys, I read Shiva Purana and all 18 puranas, I can say that his story is only partially correct..these guys are doing some marketing and making people fools.. be careful and read puranas your self.. its very easy to get these books online.... let me tell the complete story... the Gunanidhi does fasting and listens to Shiva purana during the last 4 days of his life.. thats why his aura/ body vibrations gets purified and he undergoes transformation. Not just because of Rudraskhas.... ofcourse Rudraska is good. But just rudrakshas dont give Moksha if you do all sins.. t God Bless you. Om Namah Shivaya....

Today, a lot of people think that they can pray their way out of the sins they committed, Karma. It can not be true.
I am commenting here so that I have a chance of getting a reply. I want to order The Shiva Puraan. But I am not able to decide which one to buy. On Amazon there is the Shiva Puraan by Ranjit Chaudhry. But it has so many volumes. What is the difference between the volumes? Do I need to order all the volumes? Also, what is the difference between Gurud Puraan, Shiva Puraan and Shiva Sutras?
I feel like something was left out of that story 🗣️

First 6 mins are a TOTAL waste of time - what he said is fine but nothing new.
And lastly the story - so if you have a Rudraksh, you can do anything wrong/immoral and still it's okay?? This is really bizarre - my view as a Hindu..
There have to be many layers to the story which are not told.

I suspect you meant something else instead of the word symbolic.if the puran says it is giving a story to understand a concept, then yes it is a story for the purpose of getting a point across. But the rest in my opinion is actual and historic. For example you mention rivers, but ancient (paleo) rivers have been found. Like many comments here, the end of the story doesnt sit well with me either, there has to be way more to it than that. For example how vishnu avatars have such tragic married lives is due to a curse by a sage on vishnu bhagvan (of course there is a deep story behind that). (Vishnu bhagvan could have chosen to nullify the curse but he didnt.)

have any of y'all read the part in the shiv purana about hanuman? the birth of hanuman? quite honestly, i think 90% hindus based in India wouldn't be willing to accept that, also the birth story of hanuman contradicts the birth story described in Ramayana.

I heard that the puranas sometimes contradict each other concerning the depiction of different deities.
It's because their written from the point of view of the devotees of a specific deity.

No No Ranveer.. this podcast went totally wrong..we are so much habitual to gain knowledge from Rajshri Nandy Sir that this podcast was literally a failure. Really dnt know what he said in 9 mins. Rather what he wanted to explain was not reachable to us

Basically he sells rudraksha and kind of commercial . So you decide if you chanell should suppport commercially modivated content ot shouls remain as it was genuine .
