From A. Schopenhauer, "The world as will and idea", Chap. 39: "On the metaphysics of music"
"Thus we see here the movements of the will transferred to the province of the mere idea, which is the exclusive scene of the achievements of the fine arts, for they absolutely demand that the will itself shall not interfere, and that we shall conduct ourselves as pure knowing subjects. Therefore the affections of the will itself, thus actual pain and actual pleasure, must not be excited, but only their substitutes, that which is agreeable to the intellect, as a picture of the satisfaction of the will, and that which is more or less repugnant to it, as a picture of greater or less pain. Only thus does music never cause us actual sorrow, but even in its most melancholy strains is still pleasing, and we gladly hear in its language the secret history of our will, and all its emotions and strivings, with their manifold protractions, hindrances, and griefs, even in the saddest melodies. When, on the other hand, in reality and its terrors, it is our will itself that is roused and tormented, we have not then to do with tones and their numerical relations, but are rather now ourselves the trembling string that is stretched and twanged." - Hudba
Dystopia Now made me actually read 1984 and I waited for O'Briens monologue the entire time i was reading it. Amazing piece of music and literature.
This is actually mindblowingly good. Its incredible how the 80s synths mix so well with such poignant words, leaving this as a very harrowing and almost humbling listen whilst I work. Thank you for this.
This album always pops up when I'm on a late night drive.
"Dystopia Now" comes on and the chills sent down my spine put me in a state of mind where I'm unstoppable. The book excerpt completely blows me away time.
By the time he says "Forever", I've dropped two gears and floored out for the remainder of the song. Although I don't condone reckless behaviors, your music helps me feel how I used to before my last crash in 2019- alive, capable, invincible.
Timeless, this album will be. Mark my words.

Amazing stuff brother
WOW It really dosn't get much better than this. Every track was awesome. They convey the sentiment I feel we must all come to realise is unwelcome truth and the inevitable consequence for our apathy indifference and plain ignorance, for the knowledge we have forsaken and time we have wasted, all the while preoccupied with such meaningless things as Nexflix, Prime, and on demand TV.
We are going to face many challenges and hardships in the coming years, as we see already there are lethal consequences for society when we allow state sponsored campaigns of fear to replace faith, and we witness how rapidly the thin veneer of civility in society can disappear. We worshipped at the alter Consumerism and cheap credit, whilst fake celebrity idols perverted our children.
Tech giants are now engage in unashamed censorship across social media, yet people still don't see the threat and danger of sitting on the fence and not standing up to the growing oppression that violates our human rights. The realisation will one day be Evil REALLY does exist and it is winning! It's time to pick a side. All that evil needs to triumph is for us to watch tv and squander out liberty.
You've made superb choices with this album, the music is excellent, stirring, inspiring. I'm writing a new script with this playing; thanks and I hope you keep creating!

This is a rare breed... but Mental Minority, a Guru has arrived, the future won't be a Dystopia anymore... If you want to know more, contact me, I will help you write a song which will turn around this Dystopia...
I see what you did there....

I like the music but why is there a utopian sound to it?
Hm, of course I do not know what you hear as or mean by "utopian sound", but perhaps you mean the more melancholic or light-hearted tracks on the album...? If yes, the answer could be: It is not a concept-album, it is a collection of songs made within ca. three years that got its title from one of these tracks.
👋
@@MentalMinorityMusic By utopian sound I mean upbeat and happy sounding.
@@MentalMinorityMusic What's ca?
@@sixkicksfightertricks949 ...circa, like about, approximately.
Not a concept album. Album named after one song. Songs accumulated for about 3 years with a similar sound... Then I'm guessing the happy sound is not meant to be thought about, but rather to give the listener mixed feelings. And climactic sound along with it is meant to match the extremes of the oppression in a dystopia. A euphoric bittersweetness. In that case it makes the music more creative.
