Aikman one of the reasons I became a cowboys fan for life.
That’s pretty depressing 😂
You can't have just a good arm and win as many Super Bowls as Aikman.
Jerry Jones the reason I’m not anymore.
A 3 time champion and an MVP of the Superbowl.
And 6 time pro bowler and Walter Payton winner. He always put the team above himself. He would hold people accountable which got him bad press but that's what leaders do. Great QB - very underrated.
Notice how no one is diving to make catches. Accuracy.
Straight FACTS.
And in stride. No stopping.
Yes all in stride, even on busted plays right in the breadbasket. Aaron Rodgers looks like a drug addict but he’s one of the few that can lead his receivers like TA. So many overthrows and shitty balls being thrown by the young qb’s of this era
Yup those whr the times when QBs didn't wear skirts now thy have to hold thr skirts up so thy don't get hit hard and cry about thr skirts getting dirty
Kool
One of the greatest arms ever! Velocity, accuracy and most importantly the timing. Top 3 all-time with those 3 attributes.
FACTS, Troy is my favorite Cowboy qb. And that’s saying something because Staubach was pretty great too.
Dixon had lightening speed
Top 3? I don’t think so but I’d love to hear more why u think so
Truly the best he didn't have to deflate balls to do it either
They wouldn't have won the super bowl without him
He may not have the stats like Brees and the rest of these modern age qbs. But he threw a beautiful ball and knew how to win when the rules weren’t in his favor and the qb wasn’t as protected as it is today. He has to be in the top 10 qbs of all time.
for sure is. The term - he can make every throw gets thrown around too often. I think Aikman was one of the guys that could make every throw perfectly. Him, Marino, Brady and Montana are the only QBs I have ever seen do that.Throw the ball at incredible velocity yet control it amazingly.Troy is for sure top 10 ever. People just hold the stacked teams against him but dont hold it against Montana for some reason. He could nail every throw 100 percent
@@erikpuka2627 dont forget arod lol.
The mechanics and footwork were impeccable!!!🔥🔥
After watching this I realize how underrated Al Harper is
Well to Dallas' credit, when they let him go, he never got open again when he didn't have Irvin on the other side. But he was fast.
I always thought he was the big play guy.
He was also a great 1 on 1 jump ball receiver, he was a high jump and track guy in high school and college, yeah afterward he didnt flourish like he projected.
@@AdamMassey-lo1uw What's crazy is we just gave up on Jimmy Smith who should've been the No.2 WR and even Irvin's replacement in 1999 but Smith was already going to Pro Bowls for Jacksonville by then.
He feasted on the attention that Irvin got every game. He did his job, and very well.
His accuracy is unbelievable! I have a #8 jersey for every day of the week. Thanks for the Glory Years Troy.
Facts 💯, he’s arguably the most accurate qb ever. And that’s a great jersey to have 👍.
That’s when Cowboys were America’s Team
I remember in my middle school’s days I had all Jerseys #22 SMITH - #88 IRVIN - #8 AIKMAN and when Deion Sanders joined them I had #21 SANDERS and the shoes as well.. I loved and miss those days.
Facts 💯, need to get back to that.
They still are America's team!!!
Hey they might be making a comeback rn
The 1970’s they became America’s team
The fact the man stepped into the hits to make sure he made that pass as perfect as possible is remarkable. It just sucks he has so many concussions. I hope he has no long term effects from them that begin to show up in the years to come #aikmanfan #cowboygreat
They should have been know as the Quads. Novacek was the most under rated guy on that team.
I remember being a young kid watching these games and thinking “oh thank god, it’s not a serious injury and it’s just a concussion, he’ll be back after a few plays” what a dumbass I was
I was the only one in my school who wanted a Troy Aikman Jersey for Christmas. I got it
Awesome gift 👍, Troy is one of my favorite Cowboys.
Aikman is my favorite of all time
Hell yeah 😎💯
The greatest QB in my book
Your book is trash
Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Tom Brady?
John Elway
Excellence. Just one word.
Jesse Mathes FACTS Jesse.
Best Quarterback Dallas ever had 3×Superbowls
I disagree Rodger Staubach was the best
Roger dodger was cold
@@peterwall583I agree. RS was a young 6 year olds hero. Still is. 🫡
Should’ve been 4.
Eagles have never experienced a trilogy of superbowls.
THANK YOU for posting highlights with the original commentary. I appreciate not listening to some overdramatic orchestra music.
Thanks 👍, I agree i prefer in game commentary.
turnupthesun81 could not agree more lol i also appreciate it not being in slow mo. Tough to find older footage that isn’t slow mo
John Stehr I try to look for Emmitt Smith highlights and everyone just cuts up the same clips from The NFL Network and they just add some awful soundtrack.
czcams.com/video/U11SmWC_UNY/video.html tell me you dont like it ;)
Couldn't agree more!!
Cowboys should of been the patriots of the 90’s if it wasn’t for Jerry Jones
And it wasn't so easy to win the NFC east and then make it out of the NFC back then. The Superbowl was usually the NFC championship game.
Damn shame how they feel apart
Oh so right.
I used to love those timing throws where Irvin would run 20+ yards, stop on a dime, turn towards the sideline, and the ball was already on it's way where only Michael could catch it... Guaranteed first down every time... Troy most accurate in SB history...
They had great chemistry, without a doubt one of the best qb/receiver duo’s in nfl history 💯.
@@DC4L99 I am a huge fan of the long throws, but it seems to have gone away especially with all the short stuff that brady lives on... I know it's effective, but I still want that 7 step drop and 60 yard bomb!!
Aikman's the only QB I know of who could get his head knocked off yet still place the ball anywhere on the field in the tightest of windows and hit a receiver in stride. He was nothing short of incredible. If only the Cowboys had a QB now who could remotely come close to his combination of arm strength, intelligence, accuracy, and desire to win. Only player I've seen who hated losing as much as or more than Aikman is Brady.
That hit he takes at the very first of this video shows how far the league has come to protecting QBs when they are defenseless. That would be a fine today the way the Cardinal led with his helmet.
Yeah I have a lot of respect for the guys who played back then. Hits like that used to be normal, and Aikman took a lot of them.
Such a shame how much Aikman is shitted on as a commentator, it’s almost like people forget how good he was as a player. I’m a New England fan, but Aikman was a straight up machine. The 90s Cowboys are probably the greatest teams in the history of the NFL
JKC Productions Thanks JKC, I don’t get the hate either. I actually prefer him and Joe Buck over most nfl commentators. The 90s Cowboys were amazing, if Jimmy Johnson hadn’t been let go who knows what would have happened.
It's because the NFL has a young audience. It's a new brand of football and they are going to shit on Dallas because it's "cool" to shit on Dallas, even when they were great. People are just pissed because when Dallas is good, they make the shit look cool. No other team can say that.
@@brianblackwell2125 they havent been good... like real good in 25 years tho
It's great to see a Dallas QB that wears the STAR and deserves it. He earned HIS money. I don't watch them anymore. It was a great era. They always talk about the TRIPLETS, but there was so many on that team offensively and Defensively during those years. Nothing compares since.
America's team I remember when I was younger it was so much fun when they played troy was the boss
Everyone in our family had a nickname. Troy Boy (with the utmost respect) was no different.
Takes some real intestinal fortitude to stand in the pocket knowing you are about to get slammed hard but still in the last half second get that pass off.
I’m glad that they penalize those cheap shots to the head nowadays. A little late to help Troy though.
Swag. Many dynasties happen in the nfl. But that team made beating everyone look so easy. They did it with pure swag. Endless weapons. In every phase. So good they won a superbowl with Barry Switzer. They had autopilot greatness. I hated them. But watched every game. They were that must see television.
troy had a pretty ball and the way he look throwing the ball awsome
Aikman threw some amazing passes and was a big time playoff performer and an amazing leader absolutely the back bone and spirit of the dynasty and they could have won 1 2 maybe 3 more super bowls if the team didn’t fall apart around him because of Jerry jones
Miss Americas Team. Those years of domination and playoffs. Aikman was a beast with his passing. We knew Irvin was bad ass, but Harper was great as well. We're still looking for that go to TE like Novacek brought us. Including Witten who was a little above average at best.
A little above average 🤦🏿♂️ blasphemy
Aikman to Novacek...priceless.
Man I always felt like Aikman's passes would never get there. Then when it
did I would take a deep breath while Irvin and Harper would whisk away.
I was so blessed to have seen Roger, Troy and Romo as our greatest QB. Tony was just as incredible as his predecessors Troy and Roger.
robert lunsford Thats awesome man, I think it’s fair to say Cowboys have done pretty good at the qb position throughout there history. And that’s to say the least lol.
I agree on the first 2 and Romo had great numbers but he made plenty of bone head plays that ended in a loss.
@@dk6173 the difference was the other 2 qb had great teams! Romo didn’t unfortunately
I'll never forgive Romo for Cabo!!
@@fireboyman1994 Romo's immaturity is why he's not in Staubach's or Aikman's league. Neither of those guys goes and takes a trip during the playoffs. What a joke!
Great friggen video !!!! That overtime winner at the end was and always be my favorite Aikman play/pass.
The King
Smile on my face!!! Could watch this all day!!! We have to get back to this!!!
Ireally feel that Alvin Harper was never loved by the other coaches and some players. Watching this vid. You can see how much of a touchdown, game breaker he was. How many games would have been lost without Alvin Harper???
Very underrated receiver, Cowboys offense wasn’t as good when he left.
Good point Howard he definitely had a big game in the 93 nfc title game (I believe it was 93) when he dominated San Francisco
Damm Aikman could've played 5 more years if thy had a good coach that desciplined the team like johnson did
Yep that and the concussions prematurely ended his career. Aikman would thrive in today’s qb friendly league.
@@DC4L99 yup but he really left cuz the team wasn't a team no more to much drama for him he said
Aikman sir I wish you could come back!!! Last time Dallas was America team!!!! Sir tired lack of discipline in Dallas. Sir if you even see this we're is Dallas current FB ? The side line #40. There not America team no more but joke. Thank you for your play and trying to take Jimmy's shoes. I grew up with real America team!!! So great full sir. #cowboysfanforlife
Aikman’s the best deep ball thrower I saw until the rules changed to benefit quarterbacks. It would go so high like a Hail Mary and fall softly into the hands of a receiver. Very few quarterbacks can even attempt to do it like that because they don’t have the combination of strength and touch Aikman had. Many guys had one or the other, but not both to the degree Aikman did.
I agree. But then he could also rip a low, fast deep ball like the TD to Harper at 4:57. Blows my mind.
He took a beating his 1st season, but as the team got better so did he
Yep, they went from the worst team in football to one of the greatest dynasties in a 3 year span.
He owned jim kelly in the two Superbowls. He played so well for the cowboys.
If we could go back to these times that would be beautiful. Politics got into entertainment, and when that happens, entertainment does not become fun to watch anymore
The goat, Troy the worrier.
The best quarteback the dallas cowboys and one of the best s quartebacks in the World of NFL
Ramiro Gómez Martínez FACTS Ramiro.
I remember every one of those. The first one Wilbur Marshall I think broke his jaw or something. But he had to eat through a straw for a week. It was a vicious hit.
And to think he started his college career as a OPTION athletic run first quarterback but little did they know he had a 007 golden gun for a right arm.
Damn I can clearly remember watching the last game
Yeah that’s a classic one.
Great video! Well done friend
John Stehr Thanks I appreciate that 👍.Troy is one of the greats.
Aikman may not have had a rocket arm or dazzling stats but man was he accurate
See .... again if they didn’t put Aikman in the hospital each game he would be at 5-6 and there wouldn’t be a brady. After Aikman warren moon Marino kelly I cant think of the 90s era to list more ..... they stopped the hit the QB hard thing. League owners were stressed. So brady is great now. He is 43. The oldest ever. Why ? Due to not hitting the QB eras
He is my favorite all time so yeah ...
another F**KING awesome video
Love em' or hate em' , but his & crew shined when the lights were the brightest!
Crazy, he would throw to a certain point on the field and you see Harper or Irvin come out of nowhere and snag it and never break stride.
Lmao @ 6:22 Ernie would not have got away with that today , "smoke em if ya got em"
Lol true, crazy how much the world has changed since then.
Damn I didn’t know aikman was that good of a quarterback ...... I’m a giants fan but you gotta give it to him the guy could flat out throw . Definitely under rated when you hear of quarterbacks who could throw if he was on the Dolphins when Marino was or in another system he could’ve had a lot more credibility
I like your objectivity,
unfortunately a lot of people base everything off stats. You’re right, if he played in a system like Marino or Favre his numbers would be much higher. Definitely deserves more credit than he gets.
This is why Troy transferred from Oklahoma to UCLA he was a passer.
This is why Troy transferred from Oklahoma to UCLA he was a passer.
This is why Troy transferred from Oklahoma to UCLA he was a passer.
That ball at 4:57 is one of the fastest, tightest, prettiest deep balls I’ve ever seen. It’s hard to get the ball that deep and hit the receiver in stride THAT LONG after the snap. It’s thrown more like a 50 yard deep out (if there were such a thing) than a deep ball. Just an amazing arm.
Was a great quarterback 😊
You hated this guy when he was going against your team. He would usually carve them up really good. Mine was the Eagles....
Winner qb in the 90’s. Most accurate poise qb. Didn’t put up the numbers cuz of emmitt but man he was a winner
I remember that hit versus Cardinals Troy was out for 10 minutes
Yeah he took quite a bit of hits, otherwise might have had a longer career.
The only play I can remember where he was in the shotgun. Troy did not like the shotgun.
God damn he threw a pretty ball
I will never see another team like the 90's dynasty!! The great wall, doomsday defense, the triplets!! Or at least not in my lifetime!!! 😪
The 90s cowboys were excellent
Ahh the days of squinting at the TV trying to figure out the score, good ole 480 SD
GOAT
more machine than man
If Dak Prescott had this line.. playmakers and defense.. he wins 3x superbowl in todays NFL which is way harder to do.
Troy Da Goat What you know About Dat Troy Aikman!!!
Back when football was awesome.
1.- Brady
2.- Manning
3.- Marino
4.- Aikman
5.- Montana
Fuck no aikman had one season over 20 pass tds 😂😂 id take half of Montana over aikman😂
1. Brady
2. Elway
3. Montana
4. Manning
5. Marino
6. Favre
7. Aikman
I’m going with joe Montana as 1 and Brady as 2. Aikmen as 3. Eli manning at 4 and Terry Bradshaw as 5.
Life long Dallas fan here..
1) Montana
2) Marino
3) Brady
4) Manning
5) Elway
Aikman and Moon is what CJ Stroud reminds me off.
WHY. DOESN'T THE BOYS. GET MOTIVATED AN WATCH REPLAYS OF. HOW ITS DONE. THK YOU😊
Troy was a great QB - he was always great in pressure situations. He unfortunately, played in an offense that was focused on the run first, and when they did pass most where short to medium passes. That means you don't rack up a lot of passing yards and TDs. The o-line everyone talks about was not there during the last part of his time in Dallas. The last half of his time in Dallas was plagued with a lack of talent, poor execution from many players, bad coaching and the circus that is Jerry Jones.
"The Spiral"
Fun fact he's from my school
The ultimate system QB if there ever was one.
🥱 Yeah a “system qb” that beat your squealers in the super bowl. Move along hater ✌️.
@@DC4L99 LOL his running back and defense beat us, not him. Troy had pedestrian passing numbers that game.
Romo y Prescott deberían haber visto este video 500 veces diarias a ver si aprendían algo.
The biggest thing in Jerry Jones ownership.
When it was fun and exciting to watch the Cowboys....not anymore.
Not among those highlights was a 90 yard to Jason Tucker against the Packers
I made another video on him, this has all his td passes. czcams.com/video/yKfSDfYIQOk/video.html
No lie I slept on aikman
It's hard enough to cover a great reciever but you combine that with a hall of Fame QB who has the greatest accuracy ever seen in the NFL, you basically lose Everytime. Even when you nix Irvin and successfully sack Aikman you got Harper, Emmit and a Wyoming tight end to stop. Then there are the very low odds of scoring on Doomsday II. Thus three Superbowls in four years and the only reason it wasn't four in a row is the Cowboys slacked off. No other team has won three in four years. Few have won two in a row.
Rodgers and Marino have better accuracy
man does he ache.(after 1st play).
What happened to us?
Thats my QB 😢
dak wishes he could hit a dump truck in stride like this
I think Troy is the most accurate qb in nfl history. He could make every throw.
@@DC4L99 aikman was a average qb at best. The only reason he is in the hall of fame is because he won 3 superbowls
jayrough Far from it, I’m gonna assume you never even watched him play lol.
jayrough Did you watch some of those throws he completed in this video? Average my ass.
@@DC4L99 Passing yards: 32,942
Pass completions: 2,898
Pass attempts: 4,715
TD-INT: 165-141
These are his career stats
Who was coaching Dallas back then
did Troy win his superbowls in 92,93 and 95?😊
Lol now days if a quarter back got hit like that they would have called the police for assault
Right 😂.
The mid 90s Dallas teams would've beat the 1972 Dolphins
Gary Mathis Agreed.
They would have mauled the "perfect team".
Not only the best Dallas QB, sorry Roger, but the greatest QB ever. I'd choose Aikman over Brady anytime. If Jones hadn't undone the Cowboys under Johnson, the Patriots would still be far behind Dallas for best team ever. The Johnson Cowboys could easily beat the modern Bilichik Patriots.
First of all. An all t.d. highlight reel? That's why he doesn't get more love from the critics. All he did was throw t.d. passes. Secondly, Irvin was jealous of Harper and wanted him gone. Thirdly I saw him play in Texas Stadium, that field had the highest crown of any football stadium ever. Bret Favre couldn't play there, you could stand on one sideline and not see from the knee down any player on the other side. Yes he's the most accurate passer in NFL history, but when all you show are t.d. highlights it's hard for today's fans to comprehend that. Troy didn't scramble around and wait for a defense to break down like every other qb in today's league. He knew where the ball needed to go pre snap. Watch his spiral in regular speed, you can see the laces slow down as it gets close to the receiver. His throwing stance is the best ever, Carson Wentz only real problem is that very thing. Watch Mahomes, and Lamar Jackson, short stances when they deliver. Anyway ✌ out, nice video, but I'd really like to see a highlight reel of him with no t.d.s
All of these clips video clips of troy Aikman have no meaning to me anymore.
Jay z
Troy Aikman = Cross Roy aik man/// That be Roy King GRIFF'S hamburgers mesquite aka Judge Roy Scream Hanger Six flags over Texas
Had he not of been teammates with the greatest running back of all time and the greatest offensive line of all time I don't think he would have ever even made the playoffs, he's the best example in history of a mediocre quarterback surrounded by a perfect team around him!
Let's see... #1 pick in the draft, won 3 Super Bowls in 4 years and a Hall of Famer. Madden called him the most accurate quarterback he'd ever seen. Yeah, he was mediocre.
A little over rated because , really the offence was built around Emmitt running the rock. But he was as accurate a QB in the HOF, and most of all he was one tough sumsabitches. In today's NFL he would be Brady like.
Couldn't Lothetefering0
Just imagine how many more superbowls we could have won if Jerry jones didn’t get rid of jimmy johnson! That’s the reason why I dislike jerry jones!
