Today I bring you with me to Sněžka… The tallest mountain in Czech Republic border with Poland. Many things happen in this trip and we ended up climbing it by foot!
Also stay tuned until the end for some super fun bloopers!!
Hello and welcome to my channel! My name is Andrea and I’m so happy you are stopping by here! My husband Jan and I live in Prague, Czech Republic. I work from home so all my videos are home-related, cooking and lifestyle! I also love to share things about Czech Republic and how it is like to live here! I love cooking and preparing, delicious yet cheap dinner ideas, with ingredients you can find almost anywhere! I also do grocery hauls to show you what I buy each week… I know how hard is to get organized in the cooking/eating part of life, so I hope my videos can help you out! I hope you will stick around and subscribe for more videos like this!!

pls do not go off the marked routes, a large number of protected plant species grow around the Sněžka :)
in our family, it's like a tradition every year we go on foot up and back down
This was a fun vlog to watch. Thank you for filming.👍
Ohhh thank you for watching it! It really means a lot to us!
it was just epic, as you came trough the same places as i did like 6 months ago, it was just great :'D
Also that popcorn looked very good!
Oh yes! They were cause they were like crunchy in the outside! Like the machine has a toaster light on always so the popcorns develop like a crust... amazing!
Snezka... haven't been there over 40 years and that pub was bit different. I was lucky to see Studnicni hora avalanche side across the valley. It was clear sky at the time but bloody windy as F*ck. Hope you guys enjoy the trip ;))
Was so much fun can’t wait to go again un summer
Love your videos keep em comming you doing great and kudos to you to follow your love to Prague :-)
Martin Mráček thank you!!!!! And thanks for watching!!
I'd be a little nervous to take the cart, because, well I'm a scaredy cat 😃 That soup did look really thin, but the broth looked full of flavor. You guys are very cute together, and I'm happy you brought us along for your trip. 😍
Oh you are always so sweet!!! Thank you so much for coming with us!! That soup is sooo good really! If you ever come you need to try it out!
I went up SNĚŽKA in summer from Karpacz on the Polish site. There is a chair lift running without any waiting time. It does not go all the way to the top, but It’s a nice hike from the chairlift to the top of the mountain. The views are amazing. Highly recommended.
I was there in summer to see the sunrise.
I'm a little bit confused. Am I the only one to know the number of people on the top of the Snezka mountain is limited? When they sell the given number of tickets fot that time, they stop selling to avoid too many people on the top. The Snezka top is within the first zone of the national park and we don't want to spoil the unique nature by cable car turists :-)
Mmmm you see we didn't know that!.. Funny enough they are not doing the same in the Polish side so there's that
tbh I never take a cable car, the hike is too beatiful to pass on.
Not really but the restaurant is lookin great also I know it becuz I am a Czech don't ask
@@monikasantorova8238 well I am czech as well
Okay then
Cable carts needs to be running. It's much better and maybe cheaper then repairing/warming possible freezed parts and so on. But I agree, why they don't sell tickets to people anytime. It's ridiculous, this new cable carts worth 300 milion CZK (about 12,7 milion USD), but who cares about EU donations :-D
11:24 - this reminds me scene from movie "Pelíšky," google "kde udělali soudruzi z NDR chybu" or Pelíšky lžičky scéna :-D
HAHAHAHA just googled it!! 100% hahahahah that movie looks like fun!
@@ArepasforDinner It's crazy, but I think most of people will not get it, it takes place in 60s in "Prague spring" times before Soviets arrived with tanks.
Ondřej Matějka oooh wow I will check it out
it's a shame you didn't have better weather in good weather it is beautiful view
No I liked it!! I’ve being in summer but I feel on winter is so exotic. But will defo be doing one in summer too to show the difference! 😄
@@ArepasforDinner oh really? i'm So excited, i can't Wait, i've been there is summer :D
Dan Vágenknecht I’m gonna go as soon as my husbands weekend shifts are over 😂
Im czech:D
I live just below Snezka ☺️
Lucky you!!! It’s so beautiful all that area
Until when is the winter? Especially in Prague?
sometimes March could be cold enought, but April or definetely May is very nice ;) around 15 °C
It really depends until the end of March. April is already good weather!
Probably at the first days of the new year
Nice! how did you know the route? is it marked?
It’s marked!!
That´s the thing I like most about my country. It´s middle Europe, but it seems like you just visited an Antarctica. :D
Martin Izarias I know right?!! It’s amazing
I love you
AWWW! Well thanks!
Just FYI - it's forbidden to leave the marked trail in the national park, there are penalties for that... ;)
We are aware thanks :)
and its also dangerous :) in winter
Pěkné videa, ale nezapoměň že nic se nevyrovná české delikatese - chleba se solí a sádlem 😉
Well that is indeed something I was craving when living in US.. simple but fantastic!
Many of places that are just public "service for people" are runned by extremely incompetent leadership.I guess that is the case with Snezka ticket "system" ;)
But hey, going on foot is much healthier and more adventurous option.
Literally!!! It was much better to climb it... I (like always) didn't have the proper shoes... haha but I loved it
I think, that the ticket system is like that to limit the number of people up the hill.
Jakub Hlavizna i don’t think so. Once it opened they let in hundreds of people that were gathering in the line. And they let them all in. So it was nonsense
So disappointing that they only use plastic cutlery and plates on the bistro. Otherwise great shots!
I like you..
Jiří Kozel thank you!
@@ArepasforDinner well that's awkward
your husband looks like young Donald Trump
especially 9:35
HAHAHAHAHAAH yeessssss I know
lol true
1st mistake - go there by bus or train, not by car. You will not be so exhausted from the start and will not have troubles to find a parking spot in Pec pod Sněžkou - ie in the city underneeth Sněžka.
2nd mistake - better to loose some money and 30 minutes, than 120 minutes and all the energy by walking HALF the way up. If you are no nepali sherpas, it is easier to use the cablecart.
You do you boo but there's plenty of parking and we love to drive... HATE public busses more than anything tbh 0 comfy... And 2nd walking was the best idea ever... But you don't have to, just wait in the line like everyone else.. It looks us only 60 minutes to go up and was the best journey by far... They are not mistakes but opinions and choices...
@@ArepasforDinner Springtime, maybe. Wintertime = mistakes wich was not gravely punnished only because of poor attendance of other people and good weather. Only Czech and German version aviable here, but will give you an idea, how "bad" weather influences hikes near Sněžka, even for international sportsman in peak condition and knowladge of terrain and surroundings: cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bohumil_Han%C4%8D
BTW the last frozen czech man on Sněžka yet, died at the brake of 2019 and 2020 (ie-not too deep in the history).
nepali sherpas? lol :D just check the weather and prepare a proper clothes. It isn't really that hard route, you just need to be aware how to behave in winter mountains.
@@ArepasforDinner And of course, a survived danger is called an adventure later ;)
