    the RG35XX H is really okay for the stock but if you really want to upgrade ur device then install the batocera firmware I think it's the lite version or maybe Batocera V40 (fork)

      With the cfw can you easily add games via the second tf card slot? Im wondering if when using a different operating system it works differently in that regard.

      Absolutely! I did mention it in my previous video on the R36S. The SD cards that come with the device go bad more often than a branded one.

    Did you try SELECT+START buttons together to exit a game on the R36S? That device is practically designed with custom firmware (CFW) in mind such as ArkOS. You'll have to transfer the game files to a new SD card since the stock card is prone to failure. But with CFW you'll get FUNCTION+START button game exit with save options. And Quick Start which saves your game progress through power-off and restarts where you left off. So the R36S software experience can be much better than stock. As for the RG35XX-H, you'll want to update to the latest stock firmware for the best PSP and N64 performance. And MOD4 of the early April '24 stock firmware fixes the date issue, adds wireless game management, Moonlight streaming, etc.

    • @RandomTeq

      I tried the SELECT+START, it acts like reset button. Perhaps I'm doing it wrong, not sure.

      Fair enough. The point of a review is to present the product with the pros and cons, no matter how small. What seems important for some can be insignificant for others and vice versa.

    i heard they dont connect bluetooth audio for it currently. Some have used bluetooth controllers and had no issues, maybe just the connection/wireless type

    • @RandomTeq
      @RandomTeq  Před 20 hodinami

      I have not tested it with a Bluetooth headset, with a Bluetooth controller. There was a slight delay input.

  • @Patrick-bn5rp
    @Patrick-bn5rp Před 3 měsíci +2

    So a few things. In regards to bluetooth controllers, the DS4 is kinda infamous for being finnicky and having latency and connection issues on non sony systems. Not the biggest deal on pc where devs have gone through a lot of effort to optimize for them, but you should test an xbox remote or something that uses xinput protocol. In regards to the firmware... I hear that Mu OS and Koriki give you better performance and more support for other emulators and homebrew apps. Anbernic's own software has gotten better, but custom firmware tends to beat it.

    • @RandomTeq
      @RandomTeq  Před 3 měsíci

      Thank you, Patrick. I managed to get the wired to control to work, which alot more comfortable to hold. Bluetooth could have potentially opened the possibility for two players, charging and displaying externally.
      Useful information nonetheless.

    • @Patrick-bn5rp
      @Patrick-bn5rp Před 3 měsíci

      @@RandomTeq I should also mention a few other things. If you do set up custom firmware, portmaster is a thing. People have made ways for you to play games like half life, quake, and stardew valley on Linux arm systems natively. Another thing I'll mention is that if the analog sticks develop stick drift, there's a company called Guillikit that makes hall replacement sticks that use magnetic sensors which should NOT get drift due to the way the sensors work. They were originally for joycons, but the same kinda stick is on this device, so it's compatible.

    • @GTICHATTER
      @GTICHATTER Před 3 měsíci +1

      The most recent version of the firmware from anbernic has a few QOL improvements and improved performance on higher end systems! Def check it out.
      Also, there's a modified stock OS floating around on Reddit modded by a guy named Tom. It allows for FTP file management over WiFi so you can drag/drop roms right onto it!! Also, it has full moonlight support, so you can stream PC/steam games from your PC. It works really well.
      Lastly, I got a wireless Xbox One controller working well w/ little/no latency on external monitor. Just takes a bit of tinkering in Retroarch w/ ports + button mapping.

      A very polite way of putting forward your question! Much appreciated 👏
      Yes! You have two ways of doing that. From the settings, there's an option to mute the click sounds or by lowering your volume to its lowest. Either way, it can be done.

    • @zwenkwiel816

      Works fine for all the gameboys and older consoles cuz they generally have simple graphics and big text. Some of the more detailed 3d stuff like dreamcast and Playstation it kind of depends on the game and for PSP it really is too small and the wrong aspect ratio imo.

    • @RandomTeq
      @RandomTeq  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I agree, I would add that I have a family member who also has sight issues and managed to do ok with it. I can't confirm if it will fit you or not. It's the size of an iPhone 4 screen, to be exact. If you're worried that it won't fit, try the RG556 by Anbernic, which has a 5.5-inch screen, but the operation system is Android, and it's 220 USD.
      You can also try M17 from AliExpress (Linux and similar to RG35) at 4.5 inches.
