I don't know what's better, peak homestuck in late 2023 or the fact that this looks and sounds like something these two would cook up at the sleepover in Jade's pesterquest route
I can imagine Dave fiddling around with harmonics on a guitar, sampling it, and putting a drum beat under it before just improvising lyrics from the stuff around them, some snacks they may have been sharing in particular. Then Jade gives it a bassline and a hook and the rest is history.

I found this a couple days after it came out and recognized the artstyle from bits of fanart id seen over the years as Homestuck stuff, and I thought to myself "Well golly gee, this 'Homestuck' thing must be pretty great if it's still inspiring such great fanworks a decade later! maybe I should give it a read?"

I've seen the WIP of this animation on twitter and i seriously did not exoect it to be SO LONG 0_0 its really amazing how high quality it is
i absolutely love the visual style of it, the flash animation is fixed eith the real life backgrounds PERFECTLY they really blend together super well.
Reallythis whole anim has this weirdly personal vibe idk why, but every time it goes to the "tv is so loud it hurts my brain" part i just get chills, idk why i get emotional over it but i DO

I'm obsessed with this. I love the song, but your animation is just so much fun. Something about the guitar solo moments as she gets so into is just so fun to watch, and the overlays all look amazing. Also small moments like the fantastic lighting at 1:20 is such a great attention to detail and it really pays off. The mixed media is also fantastic.
