Samurai 1-1: How to Find, Select and Destroy targets on Hoggit Multiplayer Servers

  • I was asked a few days ago how I go about finding targets to prosecute on Hoggit servers. The viewer in this case found targets using the F10 comms menu, launched to take them out, but other pilots had destroyed the targets before he arrived, causing a bit of frustration. This is quite common on the Hoggit servers, but there are some tricks you can put in place to minimise the chances you return to base with a full bomb-load.
    Today's thumbnail screenshot was provided by a viewer who'd rather not be mentioned, so if you're watching this friend, my thanks to you!

    FWIW, if you go to the F10 map before you select an airframe on GAW/PGAW (need to hit ESC first to clear the role select dialogue) it will show you the map with all units displayed, red and blue. Makes planning in game a bit easier, especially in VR.

      Even after spawning in you can just zoom in on the spot you want to attack on the F10 map, then press ctrl + F11 to go into the free cam right where you are on the map and just check if stuff lives in 5 seconds. It works in reverse too, you fly the F11 cam to something and stop where you found an enemy then press ctrl + F10 to pop up on the map right where you stopped the camera

    Samurai you made some great points that I had not thought about especially selecting a role the server needs, and I had forgotten about the web GCI. Thanks for the response love the channel!

    Really good tips sir. This is the primary reason I play offline or liberation when I play air to ground.

    Samurai man thank you I didn’t even know that Web GCI existed for the Hoggit servers. Just like you it was hit and miss on some of the targets, but the Hoggit servers are still some of my favorites. Also agree regarding helping out on the server. Someone ask me just today on chat if anyone was around to provide CAP (lucky for them I was in the F14) it was nice to help someone who I didn’t know.

    Simpler approach: Fly the A-10C with an AGM + LGB/JDAM/CLUSTER mix and go for a target where you know others are able to overfly (no SAM with > 5~6 mile range) and sweep shit up. Because you're in an A-10C you have enough fuel to fly around for days without refueling (though you should definitely learn how to do this); and when you get on sight you have plenty of ordinace to take care of business against non specialized targets like bunkers or large buildings.
    I even have loadouts with 105% capacity. Sure take performance is sluggish but once the A-10C gets up into the air and cruises, it's not all that different and fuel + used ordinance will lighten you up. If you get shot down by an air threat, you were screwed anyways and the problem was your role selected and SA.

    How do I create waypoints using the f10 map? I’m flying the su33 and bomb runs are difficult without look at the f10 map airborne and immersion breaking.

      its really the worst thing about GAW in particular. just nobody talking at all :( Anyone have any ideas on how to improve that?

    • @BotanicalBasil
      @BotanicalBasil Před 2 lety +1

      Be the change you wish to see and don't give up. If everyone gave up talking after a couple sessions of poor response, we would be... exactly where we are now with stark responses. Keep talking and keep it fun.

    i really like those sead/dead missions. played around in sp using the agm-88c trying to evade & take out some sams. the problem i had is that i found the harms to be inaccurate in a lot of cases missing the launchers by 50 to 100 ft. i don´t really know why but i suspect the launchers are shutting down their radar when i go defensive and break the lock to the sam-site. do you have any tips on how i can improve my accuracy with the agm-88c?

    • @samurai1-18
      @samurai1-18  Před 3 lety +1

      You can try and "wild weasel" the radar to keep it locked onto you. It's an INCREDIBLY dangerous thing to do --- the SAM will be firing on you, so you have to be good at missile defence. But it _does_ work. Good luck, dude!

      @@samurai1-18 hehe sounds like a fun ride including free ptsd from all the beeping :D I'll give it a try and see if that improves the accuracy. Thank you for the advise and keep that great content coming :)
