Kelly Bored Piles Installation

Rotary piling is especially suited to boring through hard strata, and any boulders or man-made obstructions which may prevent the use of CFA piling methods.
Bored piles are extremely suited for transferring high concentrated foundation loads to the subsoil. The excavation of the piles is done using a large drill driven by a heavy drill motor. The stability of the bore hole is upheld by placing steel casings, which are driven into the soil using the telescopic Kelly bar. When casting concrete around the pile, the steel casings are recovered.

Big piling job near my home , rock is way harder than told , Bauer are trying many different types of tools to break through the limestone, job is taking much longer than anticipated.

Is there a gap left between the piles and the ground?

Of course we don’t want to see a void space between the pile and soils.
Casing is pulled out while placing concrete.
Make sure to maintain proper volume of fresh concrete inside the casing during piling; so when pulling out casing the self-weight of conc can push themself out at the bottom of casing thus to have a close contact with soil.
