  • Bored Piling is one of our main work scopes, and our operation members need to be clearly understood its processes and methods.
    As you all can see, one of our interns made an exciting video clip to explains Bored Piling in more accessible terms instead of using just a textbook document (Method of Statement).
    Take your time on this, and we hope you all enjoy it!

    I am a layman not engineer and have watched several videos on this subject out of curiousity. This is the most informative and best organized.

    Good job. When cleaning the bottom of the hole, it may be advantageous to use a suction bucket instead of the air lift or reverse circulation, particularly in a remote location or in the interest of economy. Take care and best wishes in your endeavors.

    They should have done a video on how their poor safety on site impacts the surrounding neighborhood of their bore piling. It's nice to have interns to prepare such videos, but it's a different story if you have untrained workers on site pushed by money sucking, greedy shareholders.
    Currently this company is doing the bore piling in SS8 for Sunway Serene Phase2 without major consideration of the adjacent neighborhoods. The boring rig keeps drilling at max speed even tough once they hit the hard rock already, which caused ground vibrations that has caused major damages to the houses and infrastructure.
    It is a shame that they can work, bypassing any rules and regulations in this country, but as we all know Sunway (the maincon) has pockets full of cash and therefor is free to do what they want and those citizen in SS 8 & 7 are left helpless, watching their houses cracking all over the place.

    How can you do cube test when the concrete truck arrived? Slump test is reasonable but cube test? I thought we need at least 7 days to obtain a "rigid" concrete.

    What prevention method to taken if raining happen during boring of bored hole and during casting of bore hole?is there any effect if the bentonite mix with rain?

    • @geohanmedia4963
      @geohanmedia4963  Před měsícem +1

      A good practice would be to cover the hopper on top of the concrete mixer truck with a canvas to minimise rain water during concreting.
      As for bentonite, priming the mix with new bentonite mix to achieve its desired density and viscosity would do.

    Hey Geohan, could you tell me when we are supposed to use soil auger and when to use the bucket?

    • @geohanmedia4963
      @geohanmedia4963  Před 2 lety

      When boring in a bored hole that is dry or without drilling fluid, a soil auger is used.
      A soil bucket is used after drilling fluid is discharged into the bored hole.

    may i know when the bentonite slurry be pouring out?

    • @tomomazaalai3066
      @tomomazaalai3066 Před 2 lety +1

      Bentonite slurry would be discharge out of the borehole during concreting of the bored pile.
      A tremie pipe is inserted until the toe of pipe. While concrete raise from the bottom of borehole to the top, bentonite slurry would discharge at the top of pile.

      Strength will reduce due to no friction of soil

    • @geohanmedia4963
      @geohanmedia4963  Před 3 lety +1

      Deeper casing would require a bigger vibro hammer during installation and extraction which would be cost inefficient. For deep piles, stabilizing fluid would be used.
