Will someone Pleeease have a chat with Bill Mott, and ask him when he (tentatively) plans to trot "Rich Strike" back onto the racing stage? The last I read--in some obscure blurb I stumbled upon while looking for other things--Rich is currently in Bill's barn. I don't recall hearing a peep about it, and I feel Rich is a bit like "Sea Biscuit."
You know... Sea Biscuit did race at Saratoga, pre-Howard... Fitzsimmons thought he had potential, but was lazy, so he focused on "Omaha" for the '35 Triple Crown. Sea Biscuit is a fantastic early example of how to underestimate a Thoroughbred based on all kinds of dubious 'evidence.'
Flightline? Oh yeah, the horse that did not run in the Derby or the Preakness of the Belmont Stakes - will be forgotten.
