    The first faction in which giants might actually be good.
    What holds back giants in the other factions is that giants are slow, vulnerable to missles, and most importantly stuck in rush factions. Greenskins, Norsca, Warriors, and Beastmen all want to rush the enemy and the a slow giant will simply arrive at the fight too late. But since the ogres can heal the giant and can go a ranged heavy build the giant might finally get its time to shine as a powerful lord dueling and infantry crushing monsters.

      If the magic system worked the way it did in tww2 that would probably be the case, but since you are hard capped at 100 winds of magic outside of the realms of chaos and troll guts is a single target, healing still isn't that much of an option. The giants will probably be better for the ogres but definitely not top tier

      Rushing is probably still the main strenght of ogres. But they seem to have a pretty viable secondary defensive playstyle with some powerful ranged units. Much more so than the warriors or greenskins have.
      Greenskins and warriors also don't have any healing for the giant.

    Ogres are such a fun faction to play, camps which allow you to jam yourself up enemy territory and VERY easily get about 25-30% replenishment within the first couple of turns means you can just keep going. They are also absolutely amazing as spellcasters surpisingly enough between having a lot of winds, the ability to manipulate it, having multiple spellcaster types, and the lore of Maw being really really good at absolutely demolishing infantry.

      @sim.frischh9781 Před 2 lety +1

      @@paramite67 Yes i noticed, and it´s not like this is a news thing either, the Empire has a missile/melee hybrid unit since the first game with the Free Company Militia.
      And the Dwarfs are pretty much all hybrid units as their missile units all are great melee fighters (for missile units at least) too.
      But in game 3 this seems to be especially prevalent in arty units, because the not just Khorne and Ogres but Kislev and Cathay as well and the Soulgrinder all Chaos factions get is more or less everything in one.

    • @user-sj5gd7jf6h
      @user-sj5gd7jf6h Před 2 lety

      Yes and no. Yes, hunter on SH is an improved SH. But you can field only limited amount of hunters. And unlike corpse cart - stonehorn spam is a viable doomstack.
      And then there is SH with harpoon launcher which is unlimited and better in ranged combat than hunter on SH.

    From what I played here is my least favorite unit and most favorite unit for the Ogres
    Least: Sabretusk, they are way too weak for me, even as a flanking enemy they die way too quickly for my taste, though they are a bit good for pursuing broken enemies to do more damage on them.
    Most:Leadbealchers, they fire some devastating blasts and can easily rip enemies to shred, they are basically an Artillery piece that can somewhat fight back better in close range. They also are great for sniping big units or heroes.

  • @nezfromhki
    @nezfromhki Před 2 lety +1

    I'm going to be honest: While realism is never a big thing in Warhammer, the fact that some of those ogre units are weak against armor seems odd. I don't care how tough your armor is, if a thing that big comes at you with a massive hammer, you're going to get crushed or at least the impact from the blows would be so strong that your bones and organs would take a beating, even if the armor itself didn't cave in. But I do get it from a gameplay balancing perspective obviously.

    • @brightestlight9462
      @brightestlight9462 Před 2 lety

      in the tabletop, ogre bulls had a special armor piercing ability due to using gigantic clubs--however, using bladed weapons--like the ironfist--negated that bonus, as the blades while still massive, aren't as obscenely effective against armor--the ironfists gave an extra attack though, as well as counting as a shield. the armor piercing was reeaally good though.
