What I love about Hadiya is her complete lack of fear. She not only has her fundamentals down COLD, she understands the lyrics well enough to alter the tone of her voice to fit the lyrics. When she's asking "dil mein dard hai, rog hai kyun?" (why is your heart broken and in pain?) her tone instantly becomes wailing and nasally, as if she's crying. But in the next few lines, she flits between soft, playful, magical, and commanding - all PERFECTLY matched to the lyrics and the chord progressions. That level of freedom is something incredibly rare in musicians, period - regardless of age.

"Bol Hu" is a Sufi song by band "Soch", featuring 8yr old prodigy Hadiya Hashmi.
The chills that you are experiencing while listening to the song, is the testament of the truth and words being sung in the Sufi Song.
Here is the translation of the Song:
    Say HU
    Paint yourself with colours within
    find a companion within
Make a small world for yourself
be a wanderer in spiritual ecstasy.

    Say, just HU (God)*

    Keep dreaming with empty eyes
Do what your heart says but listen to everyone
With broken breaths, keep fighting, keep moving forward
piece by piece keep collecting your fate.

When soul and body says HU
Even the summer hot dry wind feels pleasant and cold
    Shed tears while prostrating
Be a wanderer in spiritual ecstasy
    [leave all your worries behind].

    Say HU!

In prostration why think of someone else
Why is your heart broken and in pain
Why are you? Why you exist? Contemplate!

    Fight the war within
    Stun everyone around you
Make a small world for yourself
Be a wanderer in spiritual ecstasy
    [leave all your worries behind]

    Say, HU.
    ALLAH HU!
Highlighting some concepts of terms used in the Song for the Non-Muslims audience.
In Sufi Music the "Hu" is reference to God / Allah
Companion Within: In Muslim tradition God is everywhere, especially inside of our hearts. When there is no one around to help you … reach out to God in your heart.
Spirituality: The West has explored different type of spirituality. However, very few have explored spirituality that exist in Islam. This is when a human tries to connect with God by praising him. The Nirvana of Islamic spirituality is when both your Soul and Body starts saying Hu.
Prostrating: Muslim Prostrate while praying i.e. put their heads on the earth in humility and to rid themselves from Ego and praise God to get closer him. If you shed tears during this prostration. One will find true happiness. This war between Ego (selfishness) and Humility before God is the true struggle of Humans. If one conquers his Ego, only then can one find peace within himself and enjoy the spiritual ecstasy.

@@chef5316 If you take away the age-old Indian sargam, ragas, taal, laay , the entire grammar and just keep the lyrics, do you think there will be anything called Pakistani or Bangladeshi classical music? I am not sure if in your countries music students have different names for thants/ ragas....does Bhairav / Kalyan or Ashavari/ Durga have a different name in Pak or Bangladesh..:) I am sure the great Pak/ Bangladeshi singers and musicians know the origins of this music and its history ...problem is with insecure and ignorant masses.

That was a fabulous reaction guys, loved every bit of it. Though, the song itself is superb overall, but it went viral because of Hadiya Hashmi, and she took this whole composition to the whole new level. Do check out Mehbooba, Guns n' Roses famous song Sweet Child O Mine cover from Nescafe Basement. You'll be blown away for sure. Certainly looking forward to more reactions from you 2, cheers!!!

Godbless you both for such a very detailed and honest reaction to this very extra ordinary sufi song even to very high standards for us pakistanis. I suggest you react to the best classical qawalli singer known as NFAK. A legend loved in both India and pakistan apart from the rest of the world.
Choose anything from him just for a taste go for 1988 womad 2 concert in london. Song **laal.. Meri..pat...rakhio..blaa***just check the public reaction. It will blow you away.....
