  • Hello, I decided to do a real world test of the battery life / mileage covered on the Cyrusher Ranger. The test would use 80-85% of the battery and be on relatively level ground (some low climbs / rolling hills). I decided on pedal assist 2 (no throttle only) to keep my speed in the 18-25mph range on this type of terrain and to keep the battery usage to a minimum. Watch to the end for the surprising results of my test!

    Thanks for putting in the time and effort for real world mileage. Most ride a 10-20% of battery and do math, which isn't necessarily true as many of the batteries are not linear in the discharge.
    Wanting to get fat tire in the garage to compliment my Specialized Como IGH. There are times when I miss the 4-inch tires of my Adventure 2 (sold it, wish I hadn't).
    Being I'm nearly 70 and have a fake left knee, I've been looking hard at that Trax, which is the same as the Ranger, but it's a step-thru.

      Thanks for watching! Yes from what I can tell the Trax is essentially the same bike and certainly easier to get on and off!

    Absolutely Fantastic Thank you , keep the stats coming. Your spirited rides on Extreme terrain is why we like your videos the Best other wise it is just a Ranger report . at 230# ,only pas1 ,5th.-9th. Gear ,avg. Speed 18 mph,high speed 35mph, all terrain I got 35 miles with 30% battery left . Ranger has fenders and rear rack . I thought I was doing well with only half of my functional heart . please continue with stats on all rides because of your Extreme terrain and conditions ,dare too be a different channel ...😊

      Hi Tony, thanks for watching! It sounds like you did great on your ride with the Ranger! Those are good stats for sure and not too far off what is advertised by Cyrusher. An 18mph average is awesome for anyone... but on 50% heart function.....awesome! Keep it up and ride safe!

      Hi Richard, thanks for watching the videos! I've just ordered new camera equipment so hopefully the video quality will be much better soon! I really enjoy this bike and it has been able to do everything I've asked of it! Lots of great mountain rides planned as soon as the snow melts back! Cheers

    Nice trail. Not far from my current favorite trail that I've ridden - Ten Mile Canyon Trail from the top of Vail Pass down into Copper Mountain. It was an absolute blast to ride. With an e-bike, it would even be fun going up.

      46.4 miles riding it the way I did, you could do much better if you rode a little slower in pedal assist 1.

      Yes and I honestly feel that by dropping the cruise speed down to about 16mph in pedal assist 1 the bike would easily cover 55 miles on the 85%.

      @@lifebehindbarz60 I got 50 miles at just under 12 mph average and had 51% left. Did 75 miles at end average 12.4 mph and 13% left. Same size battery but I have no hills at all. That's with a Kepler and Top Speed set to class2 . I needed to go to 20 mph top speed to get PAS 1 under 12 mph.

      @@kevinnashskitchen3517 That's some great mileage, I'd be very happy with those numbers on a commuter bike! I know there are a few lighter city bikes that are now claiming to be able to get close to 100 miles from a charge. It will be interesting to see where these numbers go over the next few years.

      Hi Jimmy, I really enjoy my Ranger and will use it for the occasional commute this summer. My Ranger will mostly be used for day outings here in the Colorado mountains. I think the best way to answer your questions is to have you watch some of my other videos. Check out the videos " what can you do on an ebike that you can't do on a regular bike" , "Cyrusher torture test", "200 mile review Cyrusher Ranger" , etc. I have lots of videos on this bike that might help you decide if you want one! Hi Jimmy, I think I replied to you earlier but it isn't showing up. Anyway, I have several videos on the Ranger that include street, trails, and some very long steep hills. Please check out those videos and it might help you to make up your mind about the Ranger. There are a ton of good ebikes out there being sold at pretty reasonable prices, you have hundreds of choices for very similar bikes. All I can say is that I really enjoy the Ranger and I have been very happy with the purchase!

    It’s a noisy bike, is it all down to the motor or a combination of tyres and motor.

    • @lifebehindbarz60
      @lifebehindbarz60  Před rokem

      It's 80% tire noise, the gopro mic is more sensitive than my ears, doesn't seem noisy when you are riding it.

      My ebike is really quiet mind it is on road based tyres and here in the UK we are restricted to 15.5mph also we don’t have e-bikes that go without pedalling. I have a Raleigh Motus Grand Tour with a Bosch crank drive and as I can’t be bother with doing a lot of maintenance I have Shimano hub gears. I find that the 15.5 mph a bit of a bind but maybe it’s fast enough for this 75 yr old guy. It has a 500watt Bosch power tube and range is all ways about weight of the rider, terrain and weather conditions. On a good day it could be possible to get 70 plus miles by using eco mode. Maybe if I was a smaller guy (6’2 and 15stone erm on your side of the big puddle 215lb or there abouts) I might get more miles😂
