@alangt What does age have to do with anything. Pilots are all equally trained regardless of age. Even if he was the co-pilot he could still be the one performing the flight.
@BassPlayerQueen21 when the aircraft reaches a landing speed, the aircraft would be too heavy, and with the flaps all the way down (required for drag) and the aircraft would stall. they takeoff safely because the flaps aren't completely down. the flaps are set so that the aircraft has lift, and with enough speed, you can takeoff without stalling.
@FBIRoyLindell The MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR is the landing gear. 99% of the time the aircraft land safely with payload and about 10% fuel remaining (about 200-300 tons) so the landing gear is normally designed to take about 300 tons (compared to full take off load of 400-500 tons). So dumping fuel is a must, OR LANDING GEAR WOULD BREAK.
@nemlou aparently, something is wrong with the aircraft and they have to do an emergency landing, but the fuel tank is full. so they have to dump fuel in order to land, because an aircraft cannot land with a full tank of fuel
Captains and First Officers (Co-Pilots) both fly the airplane. One Pilot is Pilot Flying while the other does Pilot Monitoring duties such as checklists, flows, takeoff and landing data, etc. P.S. Age has nothing to do with how a pilot is trained. Experience is what makes a good pilot. A pilot that has knowledge and experience to make the right decision when the flight isn't as routine as going from A to B i.e. flying in Icing conditions with weather deteriorating at your destination w/ low fuel
@JakubRacek1 Yeah it can land, but it will never take off again as the airframe will be massively overstressed, resulting in the scrapping of the aircraft
It is true that aircraft cannot do an emergency landing with a full fuel loaded, coz if it's loaded full that means the plane is very heavy. It will then need to maintain a high speed to keep the aircraft in air, but with landing either normal landing or emergency landing we want to lower the speed as much as possible, high speed approach and landing is very dangerous. High speed landing might missed the runway and if the aircraft is heavy the chance of hit the ground during landing is very big.
The steward said that the plane couldn't land with full tank and it is in line with the procedure. He also said that they were in Mandalay and the plane can only land if there was only little fuel..... Then the lady asked, is it because of the landing gear ? Then the steward said the traffic control told them that the landing gear was ok and then he claimed there was no need to worry.. and finally he left...
@alangt There are pilots at the age of 23 being captain and pilots 30 co captain in the same flight....... its not on age but experience, and they won't be flying passengers if they didn't have the experience so no worries.
@alangt I don't know about other countries like this... but he wouldn't be a pilot if he was younger than 20, most airlines require you be at least 21, or with majors 23.
@khayelitshaissafe thats goes to show you how much you know! when an airplane dumps fuel bye the time it reaches the ground, ohh wait it doesnt reach the ground it evaporates before at thousands of feet above any ones home or crops, turning your car on and waiting in city traffic does lots more than an airplane flying from A to B
Well, I am not really aware of his uniform... should be he is the pilot.. I thought the pilot usually don't come out.. particularly during the emergency... if so ...a bit weird ...
@alangt so, what does age have to do with this? its all about training, if you have the necessary training at any age then your qualified, no need to meet an age requirements...
A plane such as this can't make a normal landing either with full fuel because it is above the maximum approved landing weight, which is less than the max take-off weight. Landing above this weight can cause structural failure or permanent structural damage to the aircraft. In an emergency situation the pilot in command can choose to violate certain regulations for a justifiable cause but risking everyone elses safety a single person is not justified and the correct decision in my opinion.
@dereklsept YAY someone who knows the truth too. A car can do something quite similar but with not as lasting effects in the winter. Just has to be dang cold out. It's just the ignorant jumping on a silly bandwagon to make themselves look cool.
They dump the fuel on other people's homes to save the passengers and the crue. Interesting. Are they going to pay the property owners for the destroyed crops and for the endangered lives who must breathe this fuel in? Of course, dump the fuel if lives to be saved, but there must be safer ways than that. This is why I never fly an airplane unless it is really necessary like an emergency or if I must move permanently across an ocean. Let's benign-boycott airline industry. No need fly so much.

he is not a steward he is a co-pilot :) ,, BTW thank u for ur translation ..
Technically you don't always have to dump fuel before landing, this lesson was learned after Swissair Flight 111.

@StephenETavington Technically fuel dumping is NOT a must, this lesson was learned after Swissair Flight 111. It depends on the situation.

@myokyawaungsan No, it's a first officer. Probably a second F/O.

@RedTeamMoments actually full tank of fuel or a quarter of tank fuel will still blow up
but less fuel means less change of blow up

I thought he was the pilot. Well, his attire did look like one

@myokyawaungsan dont think so, he looks like the first officer
@alangt There are pilots at the age of 23 being captain and pilots 30 co captain in the same flight....... its not on age but experience, and they won't be flying passengers if they didn't have the experience so no worries.
The guy in the back looks worried
@MrCars Its not the age...its the experience....
@alangt I don't know about other countries like this... but he wouldn't be a pilot if he was younger than 20, most airlines require you be at least 21, or with majors 23.
he is just trying to comfort the pax.
hey man ur good :)

Thank god he was not the captain/main pilot, but the co-pilot! Looks like is younger than 20 years old! lol
It was a 50 min flight.
He's kinda cute though...but I still would be crying if i were on this plane. :(
is the plane overloaded???
Well, I am not really aware of his uniform... should be he is the pilot.. I thought the pilot usually don't come out.. particularly during the emergency... if so ...a bit weird ...
what is name of that carrier??
@alangt so, what does age have to do with this? its all about training, if you have the necessary training at any age then your qualified, no need to meet an age requirements...
He would be older than 30, for us someone looking younger than 20 would look less than 14 to you guys
@cocolocochris someone once asked me because i fly alot where the parachutes are lmao there are none on big planes!

@dereklsept are you gonna drink that water?
@moelwin555 he's only a first officer
I did not understand what is the problem
@moelwin555 Yeah, I noticed. :))
Please translate :) We cannot understand:)
@cocolocochris lol
i now know how Air Bagan sucks!! Is myanmar flights all like this?
Air Bagan
