Roger is certainly a very likeable rogue .. But I have a feeling that more than a few of his stories have only a smidge of truth, or are totally embellished so as to make himself look better. He's has plenty of years to perfect his stories, but I think that even a teenager can see through them. Still..they would make for rather good entertainment when you're doing hard time..Any well-spun story would bring welcome respite from the monotony, so it's understandable that you liked it. However, at the risk of sounding like an old fuddy-duddy (which I'm not), I have to say that as an Aussie myself, I'm rather grateful that the TON of 'Coca-Cola' didn't make it onto our streets. At least, I HOPE it didn't. And there's a reason why I say I HOPE it didn't... When I lived in Perth there was a well-known dealer based at our local pub. We heard from his neighbour that he'd been done with a large quantity of power (H) & we expected to never have to see him again. That was a relief for many of us, as he really wasn't the world's nicest fellow, with his menacing manner and always making trouble & threatening patrons - but he was constantly surrounded by an entourage of 'heavies'.. We all agreed that the pub would be a safer & much happier place to hang out without him there. But 2 days later he was back at the pub! I thought maybe he'd made bail, but I was in close proximity when he was asked how come he was free..His answer flawed me. He said that he was only charged for a negligible amount of what was in his possession - He wasn't even charged with the rest of the weight, which 'just disappeared' - and I heard him say with my own ears that he now had 'a new boss'. I was very young, barely legal - & it hit me hard that SOME of the people I'd been taught to trust can turn out to be the enemy. Imagine the lives that would have been destroyed by A TON of powder! And there's absolutely no validity to Roger's argument as to the 'harmless' nature of 'Coca-Cola'. The number of deaths that can be attributed to the TRADE itself, if not the actual substance, are astronomical, & no mother who's ever lost a son to the violence in the trade itself would tell you it's 'harmless'. He's right about alcohol & cigarettes being highly addictive - along with sugar. (Cheesecakes and candy-boxes don't come with a health warning label, either! And maybe they should if they are regulating everything else!) But to say that 'no one ever died' from doing 'Coca-Cola' in order to intimate that it's harmless, and that what he was doing wasn't such a bad thing.. He's just kidding himself. Perhaps that's how he lives with himself and sleeps soundly at night? But he's contradicting himself because even he said earlier in the interview that, (and I'm paraphrasing), "... so many people have died (in this industry) ... and some really were accidents, but most others were violence ...". They don't put smugglers in prison for life all over the world for no reason! Roger has served his time, he's paid his dues (as have you), and I believe that everyone is deserving of a second chance, and that someone's past should be left at the prison gate when their time is done. And as I said, he's a very likeable rogue.. I got quite teary when Roger talked about coming home to a loyal wife after 19 years of prison.. He missed out on so much of his lufe, and his children's lives.. But I'm so glad they've made him so proud. I must admit that I found this to be a most interesting interview (I did watch all 5+ hours of it over several days!) - but I don't admire what he did, nor do I think we should make heroes out of former criminals. But that's just me thinking out loud. You must be so surprised and pleased to see an old friend giving a 5-hour interview about his life! Anyway, I hope you're doing well and are as healthy as Roger appears to be : ) Best wishes, from Qld.
The harm, violence, and deaths stem from the so-called War on Drugs, which everyone that has a modicum of understanding realizes. The deaths stemming from the activities of the d.ee.a to the cartels ALL stem from the War on Drugs. Legalize it, all of it, and the violence and deaths you speak of ends over night. There might be a few deaths due to overdosing, but no where near the amount of deaths caused by this farce of a war.

I watch these interviews on my breaks at work so I’m only not even half way through, but this is my favorite episode so far. I’ve said it before, this is my favorite CZcams channel hands down and I love EVERY interview. But this one is so god damn fantastic. Thank you so much Shawn!
Life in prison for marijuana because the government wasn’t getting their cut. Biggest gang on the earth is the federal government. This was yet again a great show and an amazing man with a jaw dropping story! Thanks Shawn!!
@@exspiravit6920 ultimately the existence of a market for the product is why the trade exists. Don’t blame the dealer, blame the user because it’s their demand that makes it all possible. The blame for the existence of the cartels etc. is squarely on the shoulders of those that demand the criminalization of a commodity. They ignore the fact that restricting supply doesn’t eliminate demand. They are responsible for creating the conditions that a cartel is even possible, they basically ensure it’s existence. So in reality the greatest criminal act of All is refusing to change one’s mind. There’s more blood on their hands than any cartel member.
Tax evasion is real lol, if the government were a gang pursuing profits though it would have legalized and decriminalized all drugs. That greatly reduces money spent on law enforcement, greatly increases the number of people a cut is collected from, and all but eliminates competition from the black market. Then this gang would pass legislation restricting production and distribution to those that can afford the cut required to be licensed. Then the shit sells itself, and just like tobacco and alcohol any substance used whether recreationally or whatever generates a cut from every purchase. So they shoot themselves in the foot if they’re a gang interested in collecting their cut. Or maybe they’re just serious about having an operating budget because the cut is collected for that reason. Government doesn’t operate with the purpose of generating profits, it’s not a business. For profit businesses would be happy if you thought that were true though. Government is used for profit but government isn’t a for profit operation. It’s a mechanism and the profits it generates isn’t the “cut” it takes. It’s the opportunity and potential to profit the mechanism provides to those that know how it operates.
This was either my favorite guest so far or too 3. I get to talk to guys like him everyday as a delivery driver, and they never get old listening too. I’ve been in trouble more times than I’d care to admit for taking to long at a stop talking to gentleman like him. I love listening to these episodes throughout my work day. The fact that you give your guests a voice to speak about what they want to, so freely is why I love everything you do! You don’t push guest into a narrative or steer them into a direction of what you think what the listeners want to hear. You let them tell THEIR story! Perfect example is at the end. You said to Roger “anything else you want to discuss” and let him talk freely about what he wanted everyone to hear and get out to the world.
Shawn another good sit down. I am 1/3 the way through taking a short break, I know this is another one I will have to watch again. This one needed to be done, thanks for your content and ability to choose outstanding interviews.
“The boys on the tracks” in Arkansas happened about 2 miles from my house…crazy story that has been talked about since I was a child. Shawn this is by far the best CZcams channel out there! Appreciate all you do and for your service to our great country.
Interesting. What do the locals say ? All I heard was that Clinton's henchmen killed 2 teenage boys after they came across a drug transaction, so the order was to put them on the tracks and make it look like 2 spirited young lads had been obliterated by a passing train running across the tracks.
I’ve heard Rodger on a few other podcasts and I was expecting the same thing I had heard before. Only Shawn can get him to tell stories I never heard and OVER 5 hours of it!

Old timer really LIVED and sounds like he has & STILL appreciates every moment of it. Reminds me of my papa telling me all of his "back in the day" stories when I go visit. I've been listening to this all day at the desk and don't regret it.
This podcast is absolutely bonkers. Roger is an absolute madman and such an amazing story teller, he seems like such a genuinely awesome person to be around.
This is hands down the best interview I've ever seen, this could be a 10 part series, thank you.
Love your channel man! This is by far top 3 interviews I’ve ever watched! Absolutely loved hearing his stories! No one will ever top the life he’s lived
My wife got me onto your podcast after she heard Chads Wright talk on his podcast about your interview with DJ. I listened to that one and then went back and listened to every previous podcast you had done. All that to say Roger is the best story teller you’ve had one. Could listen to him for another 5.5 hrs!
This guy has LIVED! Amazing interview as always! Thanks for bringing these, Shawn. You rock!
You’re welcome!
Oh my... I worked all day in the field and this was AMAZING! So glad I finally had time to listen!
Shawn Ryan could interview anyone and I'd watch 10 hours of it.
Sean is a horrible interviewer. He just has interesting guests and a really good setup. He doesn’t know how to articulate himself well at all compared to other interviewers
@@Tom_Ciccone trolling are we? Get a life!!
@@Tom_Ciccone and you do, do you?? What do you know what it takes to be a good interviewer??? Are you the world's leading authority on it!!! Get a life......troll
@@Jimmy-tj1bh amen
@@Tom_Ciccone Terrible interviewers talk over their guests.
Shawn, these videos are like watching mini series on TV, I absolutely love them. Thank you so very much for all you do.
This was absolutely, hands down one of and if not the best episode that you’ve ever had. It’s why you have the best show Ryan. Thanks and keep the good content coming bro.
The Bob Ross of drug smuggling. I could listen to this man for the rest of eternity.
One of the best damn interviews yet. Appreciate you Mr Rodger, and Sean to.
Sean is a better interviewer then Rogan. I don’t care. I said it and I’m sticking by it. He allows the guests to talk and tell stories like no one else! Just wow Sean! Thank you so much for the videos!
This man flew me out of Mexico back in 72. I won't go into details but he saved my life. I wondered what happened him, I'm so happy to see he's still alive and doing well. Roger if you happen to read this, God bless you brother.
Wow! This is All so Cool!
Last chance you got me really wanting you to go into detail lol. Next SRS guest?
Lol ok
@@OneShotOkie don't be gullible
@@herdrugby11 Yeah, he just thought he would drop the comment for no reason and waste his time.
Wow it's amazing how times have truly changed listening to this Man's stories...
What an amazing interview! This man tells his story in a way to keep you listening! Can’t believe I watched the whole 5 hrs!
Heck yeah! Loved every second, I felt truly involved! And if they made a show I would definitely watch it a thousand times over
I watch these interviews on my breaks at work so I’m only not even half way through, but this is my favorite episode so far.
Coke trafficker for a narco terror organisation that destabilised south America. I'm a huge Roger Reeves fan but get real.
Well, actually he did most of his time for cocaine and a lot of it....all the same to me though. Life for smuggling a party drug made from a plant??
@dirtyaznstyle4156 I can't tell if you're blaming the users or the government because of your confusing wording.
thank you Shawn, I appreciate you making these interviews. Really enjoyed this one!
This show has become one of my staples that I can’t wait for a new episode to come out to listen too.
Me waiting for the next Shawn Ryan interview ..😮💨
😳
No way! You got Roger ??
You genuinely never fail to impress. Know that you're at the top now. Thanks mate
You’re welcome! Cheers
One of my favorite interviews you have done so far. Thanks for all the great content.
Thank you for this! I tell you what I've been watching your interviews for awhile and this interview tops the cake brother!!
I could listen to Roger tell his stories forever !
Ryan. You seriously have the best interviews on the internet, I’m completely addicted!! Keep it up brother!
Clinton
I’ve heard Rodger on a few other podcasts and I was expecting the same thing I had heard before. Only Shawn can get him to tell stories I never heard and OVER 5 hours of it!
Because all the other shows he’s been on he’s either limited to an hour or the host is constantly interrupting so it impedes the flow of the conversation
I love your interviews, and this one has been one of the best! What a story! This man led an incredible life.
Very quickly your podcasts has become my favorite. Love the people and experiences you bring. Excellent podcast series with people no other series brings on. You found a niche. Keep it going brother
Nothing like listening to an old country boy telling crazy stories nonchalantly. Great, great episode!
They need this man on audible! He can paint a picture of the story he tells. Plus his voice is pretty damn cool. Solid episode, Shawn. Much love from Lampasas Tx🤙
One of the BEST yet !!!!
Best show yet! I listen to The Shawn Ryan show during my 12hr shifts at work. In my opinion, this is by far the best episode yet! Glad you are out, Mr. Reeves. Welcome home!
46 minutes in and I'm already thinking this is the best movie I've ever seen. Man, each show tops the last.
Like others have pointed out I’m absolutely in love with this podcast and amazed by the variety of guests you’re having on. Keep it up man.
Thank you, Shawn 🎉❤
This is the Best Damn podcast on the net ...from a guy who was about as far from being a "journalist" as you can be ....Excellent stuff here & Very educational 👍👍 Funny to think when I used to watch network TV stuff 😆😆 No more
Thanks for tuning in my friend
Right? How does a seal become the best interviewer on any platform? He built this himself and it's amazing.
Shawn, your laugh is so contagious... cant help but crack up every time you do. Appreciate you! Cheers
Cheers 🍻
I could listen to Mr Roger for days. What a wonderful story teller. Shawn, your show just keeps getting better. You have found your space man. Keep up the great job. Much love from North Carolina 🤙🇺🇸
This is the most entertaining interview I've ever witnessed. Great questions and even better answers 👌
This is the greatest story I've ever listen to the amount of detail he was able to give us about his adventures and how close to death he was over and over and the joy he shows telling the story just makes it so much more meaningful and unbelievably insane. You did an amazing job @ShawnRyanShow
Thank you for taking the time to listen, give your feedback and continued support. I enjoyed meeting Mr. Reaves too. He's good human.

I’ve watched 3 other podcasts with Roger. If you met him on the street you’d never imagine he was a massive cog in the drug trade. This is gonna be amazing. He’s an awesome storyteller and Shawn’s been crushing the host chair.
Wow! This is one for the archives all right! Great story and recollection of his memoirs. Gotta buy the book now. Awesome show, Shawn Ryan!
Shawn…it took me a week to watch this episode at work and I enjoyed it. Roger just made me laugh/smile and was amazed on the stories he told…u just can’t make that up. One hellava episode! Knocked it out of the ballpark! Thank you.
Soon as i saw the shawn ryan show pop up in my notifications center i clicked this podcast so fast my fave podcast out there right now
I’m glad to hear that. Cheers

Shawn, your interviews are unbelievable. Your a fantastic host, the content is always fascinating to me. I’ve been at the edge of my seat several times it’s been so intense. Real life shit - peace out brother 🍀
Best damn interview I have seen of this man. Roger has truly lived a life worth telling stories about. Good job on this one shawn. Your interview videos have truly became my favorite
Shawn keep up the awesome work brother! This was the best podcast of roger reeves ever. 5.5 hours was like 1 hour. Don't stop what you are doing. You are killing it.
Thank you for sharing your life story Mr. Reaves. I very much enjoyed every minute of your interview. Thank you Mr. Ryan for bringing it to us.
These interviews are always amazing but this one is by far the best. This man has lived an unbelievable life. Thank you for bringing this masterpiece together.
I was taking flying lessons right out of high school in 1977. I quit before I soloing because I could see my path would lead to being a drug pilot . Thank God for his wisdom. Good luck Roger and God bless you the rest of your days.
Whatever makes u feel better
Each of your interviews should be like this, it’s incredible!!! Great one!
Another 🔥 sit down…well done Shawn, can’t wait to see the new content!
Hands down, one of the best interviews I've ever watched.
The way he remembered all those different events was incredible.
Definitely should be put into a streaming series.
Made right,it'd be the best Narco series ever IMO.
Enjoy your remaining years with your incredible wife Roger 😉
Apple TV is turning his story into a series. His audiobook was awesome. He narrated it himself. It was SO good.
One of the wildest stories ever! Someone make a movie about this man. And is anyone else noticing how cool he is about it all especially being in some very very serious situations, coolest grandpa ever
UNREAL INTERVIEW!!! THANK YOU BOTH!
Thank you for providing this episode. One of my favorites so far. Roger is a fellow Georgia boy and I can relate!
Thank you Shawn...been waiting on this one!!
You’re welcome!
@Shawn Ryan Show This was so much fun! Shawn, I bet you laughed more in this episode than all the previous ones combined! Roger is an absolute gem and a natural storyteller. I think it took me eight hours to finish because I kept going back and listening to his hijinks over and over.
Shawn,
This was a great conversation that gave people a peek behind the curtain. Definitely going to read Roger's book. Thank you
Only criticism is Shawn admitted not reading his book before interview..Shame shame. That’s basic studying before a test and disrespectful. Bad Shawn bad!
I stopped drinking 13 years ago, the fact you stopped coffee is far more impressive. Not sure if I could stop coffee or am remotely ready to do so.
Awesome job to Shawn and the whole Crew! I love the branching out to other subjects! Keep it up! Please....... 😂
