- After a hiatus of 18 years, "The World's Greatest Jewish Rock Band" reunited for a blazing set at the HASC Concert 27, the most prestigious annual Jewish musical event in NYC, at Avery Fisher Hall - Lincoln Center, on January 12, 2014.
The band: Avraham Rosenblum - lead vocal and guitar, Ruby Harris - violin/6 string banjo/harmonica, Menachem Herman - vocals and guitar, Simcha Abramson - vocals and tenor sax, Gedalia Goldstein - drums, Sam Ramras - bass.

Wow, I saw them perform on Har Tzion in January of 1984! 30 yrs later, no change.
But it is a mistake to call them a "rock band". They are 30% Rock, 30% Bluegrass, 30% folk ballad, and 10% something else.

I guess you're not all that familiar with DYB. Jerry "Yiddle" Katz was never in our band. However, 30 + years ago I performed at Walk-Fest in Rancho Park LA and Yiddle and the other back-up players wore "Diaspora Yeshiva Band T shirts.
