One of the first writers, directors and executive producers of the X Files was Vince Gilligan. He actually wrote the Home episode and went on to create another iconic tv show, Breaking Bad.
The X Files had such an influence on ‘90’s pop culture that people would go out later on Friday nights, so they wouldn’t miss the X Files.
Absolutely loved it and it still remains one of my top five favorite shows of all time!

Back then, if you missed the airing of a TV show, you missed it, unless you could find somebody who taped it on VHS. There was no on-demand streaming like today. So you didn't miss it, or programmed your VCR to tape it if you knew you were going to miss it. It was agony to be at the office on Monday and not able to join the conversations about the episode, so you really couldn't miss it. There was one week where I damn near cut my thumb off working with some power tools a few hours before X-Files air-time. My first thought was "Looks like I'm spending my Sunday in the emergency room", and the immediate next thought was "well I better program the VCR to tape it in case I don't make it back in time" lol

This is my all time favorite show, been a huge fan of The X-Files since I was 12 when it first aired in the early 90's, around late 1993, early 1994 in Australia, I own the entire series on Blu-ray and have purchased it multiple times on different formats, I have watched the entire series around 6-7 times and constantly love rewatching it, the writing, direction, acting performances, cinematography, editing, and music score are all top notch, every episode is like a mini movie.

We must be around the same age, X-files was one of the first shows I remember discussing with my classmates the next day at school. You make great points about the production quality. What I loved is how they could play with the format a little and it would still feel like X-files, you could have dark episode like 'Squeeze' and 'The host' and fun episodes like 'Bad Blood' which is my favourite. I also remember some great shots and amazing music in 'Triangle' such a playful episode.

The X-files wasn't just IN the 90's..., the X-files WAS the 90's. I recently rewatched the whole show and even though I loved it at the time I enjoyed it on a whole new level and it was so fun spotting those guest stars' faces that are now so familiar. My favourite episode was Bad Blood, which you mentioned, but I never twigged that it was Luke Wilson. What I meant to say in your recent community post is that it's great that you show so much love for shows and movies that are nostalgic for so many of us, it's why we love your channel. But perhaps the algorithm is looking for newer and more topical references. The trouble is modern media is dire. Not sure if I am the biggest fan of the X-files Ever! Couple of things to add.
    1. Sometime in the mid 90s there was a local radio station that was offering prizes if you put an X in your window and they saw it.
    2. There was one episode of Home Improvement that had Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson play the characters and they referred to Tim Allen as ABC Mulder. An excellent and whitty play on the Fox name but Home Improvement was on ABC.
    3. Jillian Anderson in real life is a believer of possible alien life. She actually narrated several shows about the universe and possible intelligent life. However, David Duchovny is a skeptic non-believer!
    4. David had an eye injury from a baseball as a kid and had some issues with his iris. In order to look normal for closeups and filming he would wear a contact lense. You can sometimes see it when the light hits it right.
    5. Occasionally I still put a masking tape X in my window. Crazy? Maybe, but I still believe...LOL.😮
I was beside myself when they did the reboot of the X-files. I miss the show so much!! I hope they re-boot it one more time for good measure.

Absolutely Loved the show....Not a "Things you didn't know" but something anyone new discovering teh X-Files may not be aware of... In the Episode's SQUEEZE and TOOMS... The actor playing Mutant Eugene Tooms was seriously dedicated to his performance.
Bear in mind, the show was being filmed in Canada... And for teh Finale of TOOMS - Eugene Tooms was to cocoon himself in an old shopping mall.
Despite teh crew recommending some warm clothing, The actor said "I am supposed to be some ancient Creature... I would be naked" and HE WAS... He filmed it STARK BOLOCK NAKED - IN CANADA, DURING ONE OF THE COLDEST TIMES OF THE YEAR!!!
That is dedication to an art!

Both of which contain voice acting from the main actors Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. Though in the first game you are playing as a character named Craig Willmore, who is assigned by Assistant Director Walter Skinner to investigate the disappearance of agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. I truly enjoyed every single Friday night I could remember the 9:00 o'clock episode then they'd also have the recap from the last week there before. I really liked the host episode I had liked that one also I'd really liked the episode squeeze and the continuation of that episode tools. My favorite guest was that being Peter Boyle. To answer your other recent question regarding which subject areas to cover, concentrate on more TV series and continue to do movies you haven't covered or pique your interest.
