  • The Sky-Watcher EQM-35 PRO Synscan GoTo Modular
    Equatorial Mount with the Skywatcher Apo Refractor Ed 80/600
    Update: It gets easier to use the remote after you use it a few times also it seems to work better with the default settings then the synscan wifi adaptor.
    It holds very well the weight of the telescope and accessories, around 5 kg for astrophotography without eyepiece and star diagonal and around 6 to 6.5 kg with my baader hyperion eyepiece and the star diagonal.

    Never use goto before ? How to use it ?

    • @GalaxyArtMedia
      @GalaxyArtMedia  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi. You will first polar align the mount and then you need to make a star aligment procedure, after that you can use the Synscan hand controler remote to find targets in the sky and track. You can move the mount using the remote without the first 2 steps but to be able to find deep space objects you need also to polar align and make star aligment. Watch my videos with the eqm 35 pro review where i talk about this more

  • @MickR0sco
    @MickR0sco Před rokem +1

    Did you have issues with star alignment? Mine can be a little way off (a lot further out than you'd expect from bad polar alignment.) I hear updating it helps as the tooth count is wrong for one of the gears or something. Don't know if you experienced this?

    • @GalaxyArtMedia
      @GalaxyArtMedia  Před rokem +1

      Hello. I did not had big issues that could not be solved. If Using the synscan remote needs to have also the date and time data correct, presuming all these settings are correct, the star alignment can be influenced not only by polar alignment but also by home position, having set the home position as default not custom can help you get better goto acuracy when doing star alignment, if the mount does not have other problems like you mentioned it with the gears you should get better accuracy with good home position and good polar alignment, you can check also for cone error, more info should be in manual about this error. Here is the video i made regarding the Equatorial mount home position: czcams.com/video/3VguVMxXxwg/video.html

    Hi. Nice video. How do you like this mount so far?

    • @GalaxyArtMedia
      @GalaxyArtMedia  Před 5 lety +2

      I can say that i am pleased so far. The tripod is steady, i can use it at maximum height with the telescope without problem, the tracking precision is good i did manage long exposures with my ed 80 with nice round stars untill 160 sec after i used the 85x corrector/reducer. Usualy i go from 60-90 sec long exposures, when i did not used the field flattener i could go 45-60 sec. The goto pointing is not perfect, i guess it depends of different factors, like aligment etc. it does not point the deepspace targets exactly in center, after i did use it a couple of times it got my targets closer to the center.Has also an option to improve pointing accuracy , i did not use it yet, i still need to test the pec correction. With my dslr mounted with an adaptor on the mount in the modular dslr skytracker mode it did well also i obtain nice long exposures of 90s ec with 300 mm lens and 4minutes at 70 mm.I Think i will make a review soon. Here are some images that i realized using the eqm35pro : instagram.com/ioan_nemes/

    • @GalaxyArtMedia
      @GalaxyArtMedia  Před 4 lety +1

      Hello. I have not tested a heavier telescope then skywatcher Ed80 on the mount, it should be able to handle 10 kg weight for visual observing and 6.5 for astrophotography, when i used more accessories i think i did load the mount with around 6.5 kg weight and tested for planetary imaging. When i take my astrophotography plans i do have around 5.5 kg on the mount with my setup, i can not tell you for sure if it will perform good because have not tested, it will depend of the weight and also on how long the scope is, on the skywatcher site they wrote : ''The Sky-Watcher EQM-35 provides a convenient, stable platform for refractors up to 100mm or up to 127mm Maksutovs.'' www.skywatcherusa.com/products/eqm-35-mount
      I also made a review with 4 parts with my experience with the Eqm35 pro in 2019. It did perform good with my Ed80, but it has a little less weight then the Newtonian 130/900mm. First part of the review is here : czcams.com/video/hi_yrjxSeW4/video.html

      @GalaxyArtMedia  Před 4 lety

      @@teentitanss1845 The Eqm35 Pro GoTo it is a good mount used with in the weight limits, as i said i did had very good results with this model. I think it is possible to function good with the 130/900 also, but as i said before, since i did not test and it is heavier then the Ed80, i can not know. If you have a heavy scope then i would recommend a mount that can hold more weight , I would recommend for astrophotography an Equatorial GoTo mount. Skywatcher Heq5 GoTo it is a very popular choice, you should think if you need the mount only for the 130/900 or you want to upgrade in the future so depending on your budget and the weight that you think you will need you should then chose the mount. So weight is an important factor here and your budget.

    That mount showing the effects of a scope that is just on the limit of being to heavy really should have an EQ 5 for this scope because again you add a guiding scope and camera you will have far out reached its load capability and will not only cause major problems with your images as you can hear the gearing has been already damaged and its a down hill slope from here for that mounts precision

    • @GalaxyArtMedia
      @GalaxyArtMedia  Před 4 lety +6

      You are wrong. I made this video just after i bought the mount and ED80 telescope. I am using it for an year now and with autoguiding telescope my Nikon d7200 and it worked very good up to 10 min exposures with round stars and the weight was about 5.5 to 6 kg under the weight limit for astrophotography. I Tested even more than 6k with baader hyperion eyepiece and it tracked good also. After one year of intense use with the ED80 it works very good with the Eqm35pro. I also am planning to buy an heavier scope and test with this mount. Ed80 was not a problem at all for the Eqm35pro. is houd be able to put an extra 1-1.5 kg load on top of what i am using now with camera and autoguider.The Sky-Watcher information was very accurate and you can use this mount for astrophotography with a payload up to 6.5 to 7 kg for astro and 10 kg for visuals. Check my 4 parts review on the Eqm35 pro and my other videos like the photographing the horsehead nebula in Ha video, and you can see there also the guiding in phd2 and the results on 10 minutes exposures.
