Ironically, that's when it started. There was a thing in the late 70s called Talkomatic, which is considered the very first Social Media platform. It only allowed up to five users at a time. And of course, online forums existed in the 80s. But even so, you didn't need Social Media to make headlines. Stars and celebrities still managed to make a fool out of themselves during those decades. News outlets and paparazzi certainly made sure such incidents were captured.

Because Riddle took a booking for a smaller company for a show doesn't mean it's a fall off. Matt Cardona has worked one off shows and no one said anything about his "falloff". The wrestling world isn't just WWE. There are many companies regardless if everyone knows that or cares. Let them do their thing regardless the show is small or not.

I get what Jinder Mahal is saying. It sounds like he wants to reinvent himself. He doesn't wanna be portrayed as a stereotypical Indian wrestler. The WWE definitely gave him a typical Indian villain schtick instead of a more profound character. Maybe now, he can fully explore his own creative freedom and shine outside of WWE.

Exactly. This happens to almost all wrestlers that have stints in bigger promotions. Youll often see them wrestling in high school gyms, etc while in-between stints with the bigger companies. he looks like hes still in fantastic shape and doing well. Nothing to see here lol

The indie shows in my area would bring in plenty of ex-WWE guys for shows not much bigger than that several times a year. Rhyno was a regular at one point. I think they had to pay em what they asked. Must have been worth it.

I'm not gonna lie, saying someone has "fallen off" because they perform in front of a small crowd is really lame and low hanging fruit. You know WWE legends do the same thing right? They'll show up to a small indie promotion if they can get a nice payday for one match. RVD had done this (not as small as that, but there have been very small crowds I've seen), among others. There's nothing wrong with it. I'm not even a Matt Riddle fan but I don't know, seems like a low thing to say. I could understand this if it was a some kind of singer or whatever, but wrestling is totally different. The crowd size correlates to the promotion, not the performer. Just my two cents, not hating, just saying.

That Ric Flair happened here in Gainesville, FL. He was in town for a graduation from The University of Florida. Which is across the street from the restaurant. He was drunk and went to use the bathroom, apparently he cursed out the kitchen manager who was coming out of the bathroom. The restaurant manager told Flair he didn't have to leave but he was cut off from drinks. Ric got mad and started that whole incident. Then the restaurant manager asked Flair to leave.

I found out online a few seconds ago that Alicia Taylor who was doing the ring announcing for WWENXT is being called up into the Main WWE roster and is possibly going to be doing the duties as ring announcer for SmackDown. If my guess is correct and hopefully I am not wrong, I believe Samantha Irvin is going to be in Monday night raw as ring announcer. If not, I wonder who will be doing the duties as the ring announcer.
There would have been time on RAW for the King/Queen matches if they’d cut the Becky interview and Punk promo. I get that they have stories to advance, but they could have moved both to next week, especially the Punk promo, considering both he and Drew can’t currently wrestle.
Especially the punk promo? Im not a big fan of cm punk but that was one of the best things in the show. Drew and cm punk's rivarly is one of the best things in wwe right now. Even if they cant wrestle, there should be always something about these two in the show

Meanwhile, you have talent in a tourney that will have an impact on the upcoming PLE and their matches aren’t gonna be on TV because of promos.
When Drew and Punk finally meet in the ring, I hope it’s everything it’s been building to, but their rivalry could have given up ten minutes of one week so other talent can have their matches seen on TV.
I personally like having a male and female announcer for each brand. I think it adds just that layer of “This is Raw” and “This is Smackdown”

Indie shows getting 50 people has, and will, always be the norm. Riddle was probably already planning to be nearby for some reason, so decided to pop in for a quick match and 200 bucks or whatever. More power to him. He can hustle all he wants, and screw the people who judge him over where he hustles.
He is in as good a physical shape as ever, put on a decent show (considering the venue and competition), and as you said yourself, has had some bangers in Japan and the bigger indies. Plus, could you really blame him for not running to TNA or AEW right away? They're not really prime real estate right now. Japan is, and he should sign there imo, but if he stays in the states, he could take over the indies once Cardona is inevitably signed somewhere. He would be a great fit for the void Cardona will leave behind.
Would love for Randy to do a run as a legend and a new young wrestler chasing him as a new legend killer.
