Inflation is “3 percent” but cost of living has to be at least a 30% increase in the last couple of years. Someone out here making out like bandits and sure as fuck ain’t the average employee.

The problem isn't with your job. The problem is the rotten paper you're getting in exchange for labor. It can't buy you anything. Even if you're fortunate enough to save some back, (which you should do,) the money you do save is still worth less every day. It's worthless.
If more people realized this, we could work out a better solution. Something that doesn't involve the grand poo-bah, who currently is wearing a diaper and eating ice cream cones

A buddy worked at a medium-sized company in the industrial part of a large city that tested all kinds of water/gas pipes in high-pressure failure tests.
He was green, knew next to nothing, and a year later he was efficient and good at his job, chipped in when some level of manager was out on stress leave, etc.
He was given a lower than inflation raise. He told them it was ridiculous and an insult. They either pretended not to understand, or considering the size of the company and people there they might have been that ignorant. Anyway.
To wax philosophically (ish)... this kind of stuff has been talked about for millennia. Beholden to nature/work...having to do something to get the basics. Everyone has had to work or make some sort of decisions or do something in order to get the necessities, unless they were in a coma and taken care of or something. If you don't like modern work, try living in the wilderness. You don't work for an hour or two in the wilderness and have a set of pants or whatever your normal pay might be able to buy you. You have frustration, pain, fear, apprehension, and no new set of pants, but hopefully have a fire and a sad level of shelter. In the modern world, how much does it cost for a lighter?
we can turn to crime, or work towards socialism which works better
we can also try and worsen the current state of affairs by destroying society so that it breaks down faster and something other than capitalism is implemented
