Curt Smith left Tears for Fears in 1990 after the 'Seeds of Love' album. Roland Orzabal carried on Tears for Fears by himself in the 1990s. This was the big hit from this album (in 1993). Curt and Roland didn't speak for 9 years, finally reuniting in 2000. Fun fact: They still perform this song in concert, and Curt plays the bass part wonderfully, even though he had nothing to do with the original recording. The song is a crowd-pleaser live. :)
Very True and The Bass was played by The superb bassist Gail Ann Dorsey who did most of her Playing for David Bowie. If I’m honest (and I’m a huge tears for Fears Fan) I think most know Roland was the brains behind tears for fears as Curt Smiths own solo career bombed badly after he left even though I was a fan of his album Soul on board.
It’s a song that felt like it could save the world the first thousand times I heard it. Today all just seems like the world is hopeless. It’s very rare a song has magic synergy.
Roland was carrying on the group alone at this time. The album it comes from, Elemental, is excellent. Another song from it " Goodnight Song" is also great. The Black lady playing bass in the video is the legendary Gail Ann Dorsey.
Raoul & the kings of Spain, the second album made at that time is also excellent, although less known. Both albums were mostly composed by Roland Orzabal and Alan Griffiths. Break it on Again is always played in concert by the group and with Curt Smith and I think it's great that he agrees to play this title in which he did not participate. In all the videos I've seen of this song live, Curt seems to like playing it.
Brilliant song. My favorite from TFF. Those segments that are the lead-ups to the "Break it Down" lyric are just arresting somehow. Triggers some nostalgia in me as well.
Having heard their newest album (2022) The Tipping Point, the line, "They make no mention of the beauty of decay," shows Roland was growing up. I love to follow the growth of TFF, even when they split.
With all due respect to Curt Smith, Roland Orzabal is the main genius of the group. And yes, they split up for 17 rears but Roland kept putting out quality stuff like the records Elemental and Raul And The Kings Of Spain. I just watched them perform together a few months ago. It was a real treat. I saw them 40 years ago! They have a new LP out called The Tipping Point and its quite good. there are several music videos on CZcams.
The entire album is Elemental and is a really good effort after Curt left the band. I played the CD a lot, and it was heavily played on KROQ in Los Angeles.
Curt Smith did reunite with Roland Orzabal and they released 2 more albums, 2004's Everybody Loves a Happy Ending and 2022's The Tipping Point. They are currently on tour.
This album is excellent, it’s sans Curt Smith. But then again, Roland was always the primary songwriter, arranger and producer for TFF. His song “Elemental” from this album is amazing as is “Goodnight Song”.
Have you covered Tears for Fears, 'Welcome to your Life', 1985? I just watched a live performance on 'Reelin in the Years'. Loved and love this song. ❤
I will always be present for the great Tears for Fears. As others have said, this is the Roland Orzabal (and sometimes Oleta Adams) without Curt era of TFF. I'm so glad that they finally kissed and made up. I have had a huge fan crush on Roland since 1985. The album "Raoul and the Kings of Spain" is absolutely brilliant. Roland's voice is perfection. Maybe you could do the title track from that album? Pretty please Harri? 💋 czcams.com/video/WJ4VHlluYnw/video.html

Came to basically say this. Just saw them twice in June, was so awesome.
Their new album is excellent! (The Tipping Point)

Roland orzabal way to go for the first time split up
I've always wondered why this song isn't on the reaction channels. It's greatness
Right, I was pleasantly surprised when they played this song on the last tour I was extremely happy and shocked Roland is a GOAT!!!
When I first heard “Break It Down Again” on the radio….Whoa!
It’s a song that felt like it could save the world the first thousand times I heard it.
Today all just seems like the world is hopeless. It’s very rare a song has magic synergy.
All music of Tears for Fears are great hits, amazing group ❤
This was the 90s. Love 90s TFF! Two great albums, Elemental and Raoul & The Kings of Spain.
This was always my favorite TFF song. The video is timeless. I very much believe in the message. Thx Harri
One of my all time fav songs and what a story of lyrics. Thank you for reacting to this. Be loved you are
I looked it up. It is from Elemental 1993, the 4th album-- done after Curt Smith's departure it says

Goodnight Song is my favorite on the album, what a fantastic cut!
@@Le_Chat_Cosmic_4493 I absolutely love Raoul and the Kings of Spain, it's one of my all=time favorites!
@@ohfour-seven6228 , mine also! The whole album is absolutely superb .❤
@@ohfour-seven6228 I love the song "secrets" !
Ooo, Harri, check out Good Night Song. It’s such an infectious song!! Roland alone as Tears For Fears between times.
Bellísima música Harri smigo
gah i love this band!! Great reaction!!
As a big longtime TTC fan, I am genuinely happy to see a fellow BROTHA enjoying this kinda music!! 😃

Badmans song live from Knebworth is the absolute best of this entire ensemble band. You will be impressed with the musicality. Trust that. Great band.
I agree! Badmans Song Live is AWESOME!
Their 1st album 'The Hurting' will always be my favorite. Its the one featuring 'Mad World'.
It's not your favorite.
Such a banger! One of my favorite songs, ever!
Badman's Song next. okey dokey. Another gem to be found for TFF

Curt is Roland’s Andrew Ridgeley
Mas é melhor os dois juntos.. o Curt Smith não aguentou a pressão 😢
I love how deep you feel music. It's pure love which you don't see often. I wish you would hear Dan Fogelberg Changing horses.
Listening to and appreciating how many different styles you listen to, give Lake Street Dive a listen.
Elemental is a great album from top to bottom. Bought it when it was released in the early 90's and listened to it non stop.
Love this band! Roland still performs. Curt to. Together and solo.
The entire album is Elemental and is a really good effort after Curt left the band. I played the CD a lot, and it was heavily played on KROQ in Los Angeles.

"Goodnight Song" is the best song on Elemental...

Loved and love this song. ❤
This whole album, “Elemental,” is one of the best TFF albums, albeit without Curt Smith. This is on steady rotation in my playlist.
First.
Please review The Tipping Point which is the title track of the album they released in 2022

Never heard this one before. Must not have been a hit
It actually was. Was really the only commercial hit off this album.
Great record even without Smith
