What a lovely demonstration! Others make it so complicated. But your soft voice in a quiet rhythm makes this a no stress tutorial. Thank you so much for making the complicated simple. Trying to make my first bellpull has been so intimidating I've put off starting for two years! With you video backing me up I now go on with confidence! Bless you!
Tom from South Carolina here. You boys across the pond are pretty sharpe. Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to make and share this video with us. I’m definitely gonna try this. Tom
Great job. I’m going to make my jig tonight. Have to make four Turks heads. Your method will make short work of the job. The best part is being able to see your mistakes before you get very far down the road
Well done. Been watching these gentlemen intermittently for several years. Had heard of & even purchased a book on topic, but very confusing. Was army, but learned from old sailors. TTFN!
Great demonstration of the Turk's Head. I like the way you go slow and explain what you are doing as you go along. What a fantastic knot tying board. Can't wait to try one myself. Many thanks.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! After a month of hair pulling agony I've finally found a way for me to make a turks head. You get all the credit from a very great full viewer.
There any many videos showing the turkshead knot, most of which require you to learn and understand the 3D aspects of the knot. This video needs only 2 dimensional thinking and suddenly I understand this knot. Great works guys and thanks
This is very interesting, I have never seen it done with all the pegs just on one side of the board. I personally am more familiar with Globe Knot or Turks Head Cookbook, by Don Burrhus. I recently did a book review on this in my CZcams channel. Great video guys!
This is the best way I have found, the device is very simple to make and the pattern of use is very easy to follow and apply to various sizes. Thank you very much and greetings from Panama. Esta es la mejor forma que he encontrado, el dispositivo es muy simple de hacer y el patrón de uso es muy fácil de seguir y aplicar a varios tamaños. Muchas gracias y saludos desde Panamá.
Great demonstration. Loving your knotting videos, some of the best on CZcams. I'm finally making sense of the Turk's head. Interested to see more demos of even bight versions that can be made spherical.
This is an excellent tutorial video! Thank you. How can I modify the 5 bight board to allow for long knots, say 5 bights by 21 leads? That has me puzzled.
The board works but if you really learn the knot you gain tie very large knots on your fingers or hand in either even or odd bight form. This includes interweaves and globe knots. Practice and paying attention to the patterns/sequences. Jigs help with learning but one may not have one when needing to make one or tying on an object you can’t access the ends like a ship’s wheel or railing.
To make it work for even number of bights or what's ruling this are actually the leads which then will in what you are showing - a square turks head - be odd leads, you just go OVER the right side, not under.
Hi Dear, this method with the tablet is fantastic, very simple and fast, I tried to vary the number of bights, does it work, can you increase the number of leads? thank you!
Hi! compliments! good job! I would like to learn how to make this node, I built the board, you would have some text, guide or site to recommend to me to learn the technique if I wanted to modify Lead, Pass, Bight thanks!
This jig is great for making any number N bights and N+1 leads. Is it possible to make a jig for which the number of leads is NOT N+1? Thanks for any information.
It might be me, but the last horizontal crossing is the same as the second last horizontal crossing. You were always checking the horizontal crossings previous to the one you were about to do and proceeded to do the opposite. Was the last horizontal run suppose to be the same as the second last? Thanks
No, it's not only you! I have the same question. I believe that the first time, 13:15, the last horizontal is done wrong. The next time, 21:36, it is done correctly. If I am right, I find this very disappointing! Not that a mistake is made, but that it is not admitted to and corrected. If I am wrong, I apologize.
This was not only very helpful but quite delightful! Thank you!
Gentlemen!
Thank you, I've been making posaments for a few years now and you just gave me the missing link in a long running puzzle. 🙂

You probably already figured this out, however if not instead of making it really long you can put pegs on both sides of the board.
I pretty sure at 12:50 you went over when you should have went under
Very informative
