    ℹ️ About the Episode
If you read to the bottom of our emails, we equally applaud you and apologize! Last week we mentioned that this week's episode would be a walkthrough of our solar setup in the Airstream. Well, monsoon season is upon us in Arizona, and it rained all week. That's not ideal for recording videos about solar, but it does help bring the temperature down! We also asked if you had any questions about solar, and your input helped us rethink the solar video to incorporate your feedback. At this point, we'll likely record the solar video from the road to make it more thorough. When KYD content goes off the tracks, we like to create resource episodes to help the community with places to visit and things to do. Based on your positive feedback from the Zion episode last week and the reference to our "top 5 hikes," we thought we'd go back to Season 1 and collect all the great hikes we've done over the years to share in one video. If you're not much into hiking, don't skip this episode just yet. Where there is a good hike, there is almost always a great place to travel with your RV. This episode includes so many of North America's most stunning National Parks and destination ideas.
Out of the 27 hikes mentioned, what are the official Top 5?
    Zion: The Narrows
    Zion: Angels Landing
    Yosemite: Mist Trail
    Acadia: The Beehive
Great Smoky Mountains: Chimney Top Trail
This season is our National Park Blitz-and with Mesa Verde, Capitol Reef, Mt. Rainer, Olympic, Northern Cascades and Mount Rushmore on the horizon, we'll be sure to add even more great destinations and hikes to our list! This season is the National Park Blitz and with Mesa Verde, Capital Reef, Mt. Rainer, Olympic, Northern Cascades and Mount Rushmore on the horizon, we'll be sure to add even more great destinations and hikes to our list!

I've never seen a wife, or a mother do a better job at keeping her family healthy and fit as Trish has. It's almost like you guys have a cheat sheet on how to be the perfect family. In 2019 we bought a motorhome, in 2020 we retired and were ready to head out when Covid hit!
By December of 2020 we were divorced and my lifelong dream of RVing through the US was gone, he took the motorhome!
So now I live vicariously through you both! At almost 66 years old, it’s too late to afford to start all over again, you have no idea how much I do enjoy watching your videos!

I was in Yellowstone for 8 days, and one morning while at the dog park a woman exclaimed, "Do you watch KYD?" Of course I had one of 3 Summer 2022 t-shirts on!! We of course spent at least 15 minutes recapping much of our favorite videos, laughed at some of your antics (especially Caleb) and both ended the conversation agreeing that your and your family were like friends we've never met!

BTW My husband is the kind of guy who poo-poos phone apps especially when he has to shell out dough to get the best and most up to date info. He plans all of our camping and road trips wayyyyy (already planned 2023-working on 2024) in advance. We live in the PNW so he might be up before 5 or 6 to book a reservation in a park 1-2 time zones away.
This spring he finally gave in and subscribed to All Trails. He absolutely loves it. Said it was the best investment he’s ever made. I learned about All Trails from you guys. I downloaded the app to his phone and challenged him to give it a try. It was ok at the basic level but as a subscriber he is in 7th heaven. So thanks! Happy trekking!

I am from California, and I used to live in the Redwoods. It was amazing! The slugs were a bit of a nuisance but to wake up every day in the Redwoods is absolutely amazing to have ferns and spider plants growing wild in your front yard. I was six miles from Jenner by the Sea. OMG! I had hanging Fuchsias 40+ of them covering my deck and they just loved that environment. You could sit outside all year round. I am going to buy an RV travel for a few years and then buy some land back in the Redwoods as a home base!

  • @asadventures_moriicoddiwomple

Great reviews on so many we've also done! Here's our tip on Bryce and the Navajo Trail: go down Wallstreet instead, which kind of connects with the Navajo Loop, but don't take the Navajo loop back up there. Continue on the Queen's Garden Trail. It will take you across the bottom of the canyon and exit to Sunrise Point. You see so much more of the canyon and will appreciate it so much more. Wallstreet itself is amazing! National Parks are always our goal. We've been to 26 of the 63 so far and many plans for so many more (plus other NPS sites as we go). Thanks for great content! (BTW: we love Trish's seasonings and we're on our second set.)

    • @dpetro8823
      @dpetro8823 Před 2 lety +1

We were there in April, Wallstreet wasn't open at the time. We did the descent down Queen's Garden and then back around to Navajo. As crowded as it was that day, I think that was the better option only because Queen's Garden ascent is a pretty steep dropoff and you will be on the outside. It's not far, but if you have kids, that makes it tricky. An amazing hike no matter what.

As Banff, Lake Louise, Athabaska glacier, & Jasper are in my backyard….a bit of geography reorientation. Jasper townsite is in Jasper National Park as is the Columbia Icefields. Lake Louise is in Banff National Park on it’s western boundary and sorta around the corner to Yoho National Park. Whistler isn’t near Lake Lake Louise, it is just north of Vancouver, about a 9-10hr. drive from LL.
There are two more National Parks (Yoho & Kootenay) directly west of Lake Louise and two more a bit west of Yoho (Glacier & Mt. Revelstoke NPs). Attached to the American Glacier & forming the Canadian side of the International Peace Park.
We have a lot of NP in a small area 😁. And the scenery is stunning, especially if you haven’t seen a lot of super big mountains.

If you’re ever back in Western New York, check out Letchworth State Park. It’s known as the Grand Canyon of the east.

The Sawtooth Mountains! That's my backyard (well about 45 minutes away). Idaho has so many hidden gems, hikes, trails and camping.

I don’t think going to the Sun Road was fully open when you were in Glacier NP, but you have to add the Highline Trail to your to do list. Stunning views of the entire park and you can make it to the Grinnell Glacier overlook, well worth the 19 miles round trip.

True. Very misleading showing winter S rim footage when mentioning the N rim. I've been there several times, but not "KYD".

Just one clarification, mid to late September is best for leaves in Colorado, especially around Rocky Mountain National Park. If you come in October it will probably will be too late.

Utah is amazing. I have been through those parks and only touched a little part of each. I love the west! Great video. P.S. I love watching the kids grow. Thank you for all you share. P.S. again and they say their is no God. I think our national parks prove He does live and created it all.

I'll be camping next in the upper NE corner of Washington. Then heading down through Pendleton, OR into NV. I'll head to Pahrump and rejoin the hubby who will be competing in a golf tournament there. Lol Silverwood amusement park tomorrow with our grandkids!! Waterpark for me! Lazy River!
