There's plenty of room to add some char cloth to your home made fire kit as well. I like the items you chose. The wick in the shell casing was something I haven't seen before. Pretty cool!

This February (2019) has been the wettest on record for our regions in the south. I am certain, due to our heavy rain fall, that your magnesium powder got damp, and your wood powder got damp. The powders are still good, but they need to be kept dry.

Put a layer of coconut husk on top of everything before you put the lid on. Perfect kit.

use a speedy sharp for your striker. works great with maximum spark plus you have a knife sharpener with your gear.

for the waxy rope in the ammo shell light the magnesium shavings then light it. and for the magnesium ferro rod am striker swap the parracord for jute twin

With the rope you should use a lighter first so that its charred and treat the charred rope as char-cloth

I'm with you Taras I thought it was pretty nice at first then it really surprised me when that magnesium wouldn't light. Then when none of the other stuff would light the second time just blew me away. That sawdust looked like the same stuff they pack those snaps in. Definitely will go will your fire started.
