Wow, it actually makes me sad that Black and White were had the poorest sales (not counting the 3rd games in a gen that traditionally have lower sales). I actually really liked the story and characters in that game and it was one of the few times the main path through the game actually felt compelling rather than just the carrot on a stick leading to the Pokemon League. I guess it's like Matt said... it's a game for kids, and I really can't expect anything more from that. A damn shame.
True... i loved black and white too. I have both black and black 2 for ds. (Well i lost black 2 somehow... i dont know where the fk it is and i am sad af)

Black and White will forever remain in my heart as my favorite. Because it was the one I started with. The narrative drew me in, and there was such a feeling of joy after defeating N and watching him talk about the divisive nature of truth and ideals.
I begged for the game to be able to do the Victini event, used only a team of 6 pokemon that are still with me to this day, and dictated how I would play the rest of the series for the rest of my life. Only 6 'mons, never swapping out, fighting to the bitter end. It's a shame because people only remember Vanilluxe, Garbodor, and Stunfisk, when Meinshao, Hydredigon, Reuniculus, and Leavanny all came from the same batch.
I was 11ish at the time, it remains my favorite generation. Its probably is why i hate kalos so much
I bought pokemon white version. Then sold it back to the shop less than 1 month later.
I hated the setting. I don't want to walk around a city to search for pokemon. I want to explore the wild. I liked the villains more than any other game, but not enough to deal with the other characters.

My favs were ruby and sapphire but I started out with gold as well. Black and white were really good games though

I remember the original Pokemon games. I spent hours playing them on my Gameboy. I would get this game if I own the Nintendo switch; however, I will get the Eevee version since I like her better than Pikachu.

The games everyome hated so much until they finally looked at it more closely.
All this time the fans hoped the series would get a little bit more adult, then it did and we all bashed Game Freak so much.
The game wasnt perfect, it had glaring issues, but cmon! Now everyone acts like it was actually the second coming of Big J himself but you know what? Its over. You wasted the chance. Now they will mostly market towards children again.

PS: For the last time, Magnets with eyes, piles of slime and rocks with a face isnt very creative design either.

i would love to see this for gen 4. my first pokemon game that i started off with was platinum and omg it was so much fun. i was born in 1999 so i didnt get that feel of playing the first few games as a kid, but i would definitely want to play this game. seeing people's reactions to being able to travel with pokemon, pet pikachu and eevee, watching streamers get shiny pokemon brings so much warmth to me that i want to experience that.

tbh i dont like lets go. you cant battle wild pokemon. i always look forward to the end of each year considering that was when the new pokemon would be released, but then they said "we are adding pokemon go mechanics. also you put pokemon in your phone onto your switch. (also, i think its a little bit overpriced for what they offer)

I just wanted to point out, that chaining has been introduced with the Poké Radar, wich was introduced in Gen. 4 and did the same thing it does now (ensuring better IV with longer chains and increasing the chance for shinys). Although the mechanic has changed throughout the generations, it's still pretty old. In addition there is a way of getting IV to the best possible value since Sun and Moon. Apart from these, this Review/ Spotlight has really helped me deciding on whether or not I should be getting the game myself. Especially the Pokémon Go Integration had me worried, but it seems like that wont be any problem at all.
tbh removing the random encounters and wild battles is an amazing change, removing the most annoying part off all previous games

hey matt, if you want a challenge playing pokemon (NOT LET'S GO PIKACHU/EEVEE) i recommend doing a nuzlocke run of any of the main series games. it makes the game much more strategic and if you level your party to be on par with the gym leaders or even under the gym leaders, it can become much more fun. thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Makes me so glad that Matt ended up liking this. From when the news first dropped about Lets Go I knew it wasn’t the game I expected, but I knew regardless it was going to be a good game.
I honestly just don’t understand the hate around this game. Most people that play Pokémon don’t do the hardcore grinding and breeding (I do). And I’ve played all 7 gens, I started on gen 3 and then replayed gen 1 and 2 before I went to 4 and up. I’ve loved literally every game I’ve played so far (some more than others) and I’m glad to see you spreading that positivity that is Pokémon

holy u really hit home with the blue version on christmas morning, no christmas present ever came close to Pokemon Blue :)
I still remember playing Blue for the first time in 2000; my cousin's who had already played it telling me about the Missingno. and seeing one for the first time, stupidly thinking that being poisoned and the flashing meant my battery was running low, did that too many times, my Jolteon who carried me through the Elite Four on my first run. Good times.
That bat swing looked really good at 1:29.
What i liked about the originals is that i had no idea at all. It tooked me months to find out there is a top 4 after hard fights in the gyms

Never planned on getting Let’s go because I don’t like the Go style catching system and I grew up with gen 4. (I’d still love to see something like this for gen 2, since I played SS, but I’m glad the fans of RBY got something)

I got into Pokemon with the remakes of Gen 1 on GameBoy Advance and I was a big fan of pokemon since then. But I wasn't happy with the new generations. I didn't even thought about buying sun and moon but for Let's Go Evee, I actually got myself a Swich and I am very satisfied with that. Good job Gamefreak!

The most fun and challenge I've ever had with Pokemon Blue (Game Boy Pocket let's goooooo) was when I planned a balanced team at the start and then never used the highest level pokes, so I had to level them all together. It was fun, it was challenging and it was a journey, gum damn it!

The nostalgia of that unforgettable birthday present. The memories of evolving my pikachu into raichu in pokemon yellow and finding out the hard way--oh shit now it won't follow me anymore--but feeling so attached to it still that I couldn't ever restart the game. That's what pokemon is really all about. Struggle and loss. Growth and acceptance.
The side story elements being played out looks super sick! but I have to accept that I'm not paying 60 entire dollars US plus tax for this game.. hashtag not in this economy..
