Tip: if you live in Europe, or anywhere where toners like Wella aren’t available, try this!
Get a permanent hair dye, 10% developer - mix it in & and a little bit of water and shampoo! Apply it to wet, clean hair and leave it on for approximately 15 minutes (the time depends on how much gold, yellow or any other color you’re looking to take out with your toner). This method is used by hairstylists where I live and is very popular. Hope this helps!
EDIT: Some clarification!
The time can range from anywhere between 5 to 30 minutes depending on what you’re after.
• *5-10* if you’re just doing it for maintenance (for example: after your bright blonde starts going brassy after a few weeks)
• *15-30* if you want to cancel out a lot of unwanted tones (for example: right after your hair has been bleached and has a lot of warm yellow/or orange in it)
Do *NOT* go over 30 minutes so you don’t overtone the hair. 💖 Often times, 20-25 is just enough.
*To cancel out yellow - go for a purple based color (Purple is the opposite of yellow on the color wheel)* - which is any hair color that *2* as the second number on the dye (example: 9.2 , 10.2 , 11.2 , 12.2 ..)
*To cancel out orange - go for an Ash based color (The color opposite of orange is blue = ash)* - which is any color that has 1 as the second number on the dye (example: 9.1 , 10.1 , 11.1 , 12.1 )
_Note that if you have the “hot roots” effect after a bleach fail (bright blonde roots with bright orange ends), although putting an ash based toner over the orange ends _*_will_*_ cancel the warmth out, by putting it on your bright blonde roots it can leave you with almost a green tint._

If i want ashbrown hair, i have first to bleach my hair, then it will be orange,s hould i then tone my hair and then colour it to ash brown? Or dont i have to tone it becausd itd a ash colour ? Pleas help me because i dont can find the answer 😭
@@ileanamihaela2870 I'm pretty sure you can just dye it an ash brown hair colour(basically get a hair dye that has a 1 or 11 behind a number so for example 6.1 would be like a light ashy brown and 6.11 would be even ashier) if your hair is still brassy you should use a blue shampoo because blue cancels out orange and it would be better to first tone it with blue shampoo because sometimes when you put ash colours directly on orange hair your hair might turn greenish ( if you can't find blue shampoo in stores just buy a blue hair dye and make a toner or you can buy blue food coloring and add a little bit in your conditioner or shampoo)

I have been to many salons for a tint. And you know what, they never give you what you want for the money you pay. They can go to h e l l. I am going to do it on my own.

You had blotchy parts because the bleach bleed through the hole. Next time I suggest not to apply the beach close to the holes you should apply it like a balayage by slowly blending it to the root but not to the very top so you don’t have to do the shadow root. And for the hair that didn’t poke through the hole you can tease and dye it so it’s not just black.

Ok, thanks for this video cuz I'm going to be giving myself some highlights for the summer soon and was super scared. (First time had a good experience with cap highlights, then like 10 years later had a terrible one where I think I just didn't leave the bleach in long enough). Also went for natural balayge 2 times and paid $200 give or take BOTH TIMES!! And both times all they did was fuck up my hair 😞. No MORE! Bought the same cap highlights I had had a good experience with the first time, (Revlon frost n glow for dark hair). Going to leave it in for a like 5 minx longer this time. Also wash the hair like you did while still in the cap. That way if I don't like the end result of the highlight, I can just color over it with a semi permanent, ashy/yellow canceling box dye. That way I still have lighter highlights in my dark hair, without damaging my entire hair. Your a genius!
Nice!! Just make sure to not slap to much color on the roots since the bleach can seep through the holes on the cap. I think that's why mine became so patchy on one side 😘 Wish you the best of luck with your hair so you can save some money doing your own hair!

I have the same problem... asian hair is so hard to lighten 😩 hope your hair turns out good in case you decide to try ♥️
One word.... Toner! The key is to making sure you are using the right level toner on what you have lifted your hair to! If you try and use a toner that claims to make hair super ashy (like t18) but is for level 10 hair it will not work as well on level 7 8 or 9 hair which is most likely the result you will be getting the first time you lighten it.

Hairstylist here, You can absolutely tone with demi-permanent or permanent color. You would want to use 1 to 2 shades darker thank you darkest color after bleaching.

The patchy parts are because some of the bleach squished through the cap... I've made that mistake before =(
Also I heard that if you use a cap, you're supposed to comb/brush your hair backwards (like a slick back) to help with the sections.

Brad mondo said the reason bleach at the root works quickly because of the heat from the scalp that's why hairstylists starts to apply bleach from the bottom and works their way up. That's why you had to redo the bleaching process
Yes! Fully aware of that :) also had black box dye before so thats why it was difficult to bleach
Her bleach worked quickly because she had dark colour on her ends. The rule with roots doesn’t apply when you’re doing work with foils or a cap because it blocks the heat anyways

Just had to comment, fwiw, that I think you look MUCH prettier naturally in the beginning of video -presumably without any makeup - than you do in any of your videos wearing makeup.
