EASY & FAST Bottom Up Granny Triangle Shawl đ

- How to Crochet a Granny Stripe Shawl - worked from the bottom up! No turning a corner, just straight back and forth granny stripe rows which makes for a great little variation on the more traditional triangle motif shape shawl!
This shawl would look fab with some big fat tassels or pom poms on the ends (definitely something I am going to add once my personal shawl is big enough!)
WRITTEN PATTERN AND YARN DETAILS đ

đ„ Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on CZcams yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want đ
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! đ See this video on exactly how: âą How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

Robin, once again you have given me exactly what I was looking for. Most of my crochet work is done for charities including prayer shawls. I needed a good triangle shawl pattern so they can be used for those folks who are in wheelchairs; a rectangular shawl is far too bulky. Thanks so much for a clear and concise pattern that will allow me to reach another segment of the population. đ€đ„°
Thatâs so nice to read, thank you so much for sharing Barbara.đ„°đ§¶
This is so relaxing to do. Have made several prayer shawls previously but I really do like this pattern. â€đ

I have been wanting to make a shawl, but thought they were a little difficult. Not this one. It is so easy and beautiful. One thing I must tell you though. My work was kind of pulling so I thought Iâll chain in between the 3 double crochets. DONT DO IT GIRLS!!!! It started to curve out and down. I should have known Robins instructions were spot on. You are the best Robin.
Ah no Debbie! đ€ Least you know for next time, if you make another shawl. Thank you for your kind words too.đ„°đ€

I'm gonna try making a head scarf with this pattern too. I usually put a button at the bottom to hold it on my head. Works great. And I do that with my shawls Midway to hold the shawl on
Love that idea!đ Thank you for sharing.x
Please don't stop showing us it helps me Letty from Tampa Florida.
Love your pattern I'm making one now
Going to try this
Thank you
Terrific way to crochet a shawl! Thank You and God Bless you and your family. I will be using this technique for quite a few more shawls.
I really like this pattern and can understand easy. I like and understand most of your patterns. Thanks!
Nice to see someone holding the yarn the same as I do. So many seem to have the first finger in the air, while holding the crochet between thumb and second finger, which does my poor thumb no good at all. Was a bit puzzled with the double crochet term, but realised you are using the USA terms. Will definitely be having a go at one of these shawls for the dementia unit at a local hospital. Many thanks.
I can't do the finger in the air thing either! It is so uncomfortable and aggravates my arthritis - it's amazing how many people also hold the yarn like we do, I always thought I was the only one haha!
Oh and yes, USA terms so UK Trebles đ
Loved the 100% Steve Approved! Soooo cute! Thanks, Robin!

I love a bottom up anything lol... bottom up beanies, shawls, the lot! Am doing this one in a Unicorn colour Shawl in a Ball... will see how that turns out and post on your page. Thanks for the great (and entertaining lol) tutorials ;) Greets from Oz.
Hello Robin. I have finished one shawl using your pattern - I am very pleased with the results! Your instructions were clear and concise. My niece loves her shawl. I am left-handed and was able to use your video and pattern to make sure I was reversing correctly. I am just beginning my journey with crocheting, and am thoroughly enjoying experimenting with different yarns, stitches and hooks. I have been a knitter for many years, and wanted to try another way to work with yarn. Thank you for having your videos so accessible. Look forward to trying out more of your tutorials.
If you go to www.mirrorthevideo.com you can convert any crochet video to be left handed! It mirror flips it for you đ I hope that helps! X
Thankyou for sharing this
Youâre welcome Linda!đđ§¶
Love the pattern. And gives a bit of difference to the look of the shawl.
Thank you Caren and definitely!đđ§¶
