PACKRAFT TOUR: Salza - Wildalpen - Erzhalden (2019)

The Salza in Styria is definitely one of the most beautiful rivers in Austria. Right at the beginning of the tour you can paddle warmly on the approx. 80 metre long slalom course before taking the varied 14 kilometre tour on the emerald green water through almost unspoilt countryside to Erzhalden. The only downer is that this Salza-tour does not offer a nice hiking tour alongside the Salza back to the starting point and thus one has to resort to a shuttle service.
As the Salza is unfortunately getting more and more popular due to its naturalness, the tourist flows are also continuously increasing and thus, during the week-ends in spring as also during the holiday periods, there is a very strong rush and should be avoided if possible.
