Great vid!
I love your work❤❤❤
Hi Kris
usually videos like this try to remain as unbiased as possible but Kris was saying exactly what she thought and I love that.
Ikr? It's like the perfect mix of serious and sassy!
I second that🤚
I was gonna say other true crime youtubers "I mean no disrespect to anyone" Kris "all of them are terrible fucking people who deserve to burn in hell"
I third that🤚
I fourth that 🤚
This case hits home. My grandpa was actually a homicide detective on this case. Marty Jones was one of the victims found in the boat shed, and he was my grandpa's cousin. The case affected my grandpa tremendously, and he passed away in 1977.
Holy hell jeez
very sorry about that. it’s awful
I'm so sorry, that's terrible! I hope your grandpa and grandpa's cousin have found piece 🙏🏼
im so sorry
That’s horrible, and I’m so sorry for your loss🩷
As the mom of a teen boy, I felt like I was going to throw up when you described what he did to them. I can’t imagine how their mothers felt when they heard about the fate of their sons.
I also found the torture methods too disturbing to listen to at hearing of first 2 or 3 minutes, even though I’m old enough to handle most things, torture is too much for me, if I’m being honest
I feel you, my friend
I have two boys also. I had to take this one in several doses.
@@sagecharbonneau6074 I can imagine, it must be terrifying to think that this could happen to your boys, I'm sorry you had to endure that fear, and I admire your bravery in doing so🥺🥺🥲
Same, I have 16&17 year old boys
Please cover the case on Jessica Judd! She murdered her children gruesomely. Some of my family members know this family personally. Jessica’s family used to live in the forest. Sometimes when they needed wood for fires, they would use horses to haul giant logs through the trees, whilst they were balancing on the logs going at insane speeds. My family member witnessed so many bizarre things while he was visiting this family. Very interesting case, but very sad as well.
Who? I'm not finding anything in a search.
Kris is making her way through all of the CZcams genres. Sketch Comedy, Reacts, Product Reviews, Travel Logs, Ghost Hunting, Podcasts, and now True Crime. She really is a renaissance woman.
Tech videos next!
Her personality is what gets me here no matter what she’s talking about!
It's true though!
dynamic and hilarious.
I get bored of making the same thing hahah I like to diversify. Glad you guys enjoy the chaos
as a psychology student, you starting your story from his childhood and parents is very satisfying. Because our adult personality is the result of our upbringing basically. Love it!
My undergrad is in psychology. It’s a hard job that pays nothing, but I loved my time as a student.
Of course your experiences largely shape your personality (biology plays a significant role) BUT: it’s way more interesting to study childhood experiences. My one and only published paper is about exactly that. How certain childhood experiences are strong predictors of certain future behaviors.

The fact that she somehow still manages to be funny while talking about this, is honestly amazing. I love these videos and I’d watch a whole channel of this omg
I love these deep dives. Not only are they informative and entertaining but Kris shows a lot of respect to the victims and their families and says the victims names, not just the killer’s. I really appreciate your heart and empathy, Kris, thank you.
YES. and the way she talks about the killers isn't in a romancing way like I've seen on other true crime channels.
I love how Kris always calls this man so many names because he’s an actual disappointment of a human being. Love this energy
Honestly the energy desperately needed in true crime. We need to stop romanticizing serial killers who are usually not very smart and pieces are garbage
Let's go right back to when "this piece of shit was born"😂

The irony of the mother being called Mary and giving birth on Christmas Eve. She must've thought she gave birth to a reincarnation of Jesus, but he ended up being the Devil
Shes the only channel that makes me being able to watch true crime without getting creeped and making it interesting instead of nerve racking, KEEP IT UP!
Same I usually get creeper put but hers with the humor I don't
It’s official: Kris needs to do more of these true crime/mystery style videos. I wouldn’t be opposed to a few conspiracy theories interpretation videos sprinkled in here and there.
I'm sooooo with you, just hope she gets a lil better with names haha because there were quite a few times she said the killer's name instead of the accomplice's and I got so confused 😅 but I do love her and her ability to bring so much animation to anything she talks about so I'd definitely love to see more!
agreed! I love her retelling. Appropriately horrified with the right dash of wtf and a pinch of sarcasm.
Yes! More true crime!!
@@Gtree43 Yeah I got confused as well those times, as well as when she'd switch between using Dean's first and last name, and halfway through the video when she said "Dean" instead of "Coral" like she was had been saying before, I had completely forgotten what his first name was. Had to do a double take like "Dean? Who the fuck's Dean?"
This is my new favorite segment. 😳I NEED MORE! 😂
As a prison officer, I had Davis Brooks as an inmate at one point. He tortured himself daily with the reminder of what he did, and what he could have been. Love how you told the story, you're already one of my favorite true crime readers, keep going. :)

Hey Kris I have some ideas for serial killer content such as

As a person who’s grown up in Houston I’ve always wanted to know more about the candy man. My grandfather would always tell me about how he almost was kidnapped by one of his workers. This story is interesting. Thank you Kris for covering over this tale.😁😁😁❤❤
It sounds like this guy is THE reason why parents now tell their kids "Don't take candy from strangers" Also, def need more vids like this!!
Now that I think about that, you're right! I googled the origin of it and it said it was because of "Ross's abduction "

I've been taking a psychology class, (I'm a middle schooler btw) for the past 3 or so weeks and I asked my teacher if I could do the psychology behind murderers, and he agreed, knowing I am interested in true crime. You bringing up his childhood and then getting into what he did really shows you went deep into research. Yes childhood has stuff to do with what Dean became, and what you become when you become an adult.
30:00 Yeah, while no sex isn't a red flag, asexuals exist, for this specific couple...yeah, that's a red flag.
Great job!
The Muffin Man is a really messed up story. The origin of the nursery rhyme is actually a serial killer that lured kids into dark alleys with muffins on a string. I don’t know if there is enough information available for a video though,
And this is why we don't take sweets and foods from strangers, people
@@Excuseme911no more halloween
Seeing the pictures of the poor smiling victims makes everything so real. This was crazy
Ah, so you lack object permanence, like an infant.
@@Lorrdd This is different from object permanence because that really only applies to the objects and people an infant is familiar with. Things that they learn exist around them, whether they see them or not. For clarity's sake, you basically cannot lack object permanence towards people and things that you have no awareness of, simply because you cannot gain it until knowledge of the person or thing is established in the first place.
WOW, thank you for doing this, Kris! You did an insanely amazing job with this, it was perfect!! I too, love true crime stuff & researching serial killers but WOW, I enjoyed watching this WAY MORE, you were more thorough and insightful and + I really appreciated your extra warning before the parts that would be impossible to unhear. Ive had to mostly stop watching/learning about these serial criminals just BC of either not being able to stomach/take on more knowledge of specific trauma, or not being able to ever unhear/unkown certain details. This is 10/10, as someone who grew up with up a concerning obsession with true crime, I love the way you made this video, videos like this actually got me into studying forensics, I’m becoming a forensic pathologist, I’ve done a absurd amount of research nearly every serial killer, and this is very well researched and you made it entertaining and easy to watch
I would love to know more too

In Britain we had the muffin man, Fredrick Thomas Limwood. There was a warning song that was sang about him "do you know the muffin man who lives on Drury lane" Fredrick otherwise know as the Drury lane dicer was suspected to of killed children after luring them in with muffins he also was suspected to killed rival bakers
Wait really that’s terrifying that rhyme is a big thing in the us
Yeah he's mentioned in Shrek, a lot of nursery songs, rhymes and stories have dark origins. "Ring around the roses a pocket full of Posies we all fall down" people used to carry flowers like Posies during times of plague to deter bad smells as back then that's what they believed caused illness which is understandable as things that smell are usually infected with bacteria but of cause they didn't know about bacteria yet.The ring around the roses is an attempt to describe the discoloration of skin the victims of the plague got a ring like sore that would swell with infected pus and eventually turn black hence why it was called the black death.
A possible Sweeney Todd ancestor. Except Limwood used muffins while Todd used meat pie.
The slipping eye contact from one camera angle to the other is so much fun for some reason. Just extra engaging and feels like the visuals are moving along with the story
for me, it reminds me of that Jump in the Cadillac video that Tommyinnit did lol
KRIS NEEDS TO MAKE A MURDER PODCAST this is so much better then reading about murders. Especially when you have kris reading it to us and also squeezing a little sarcasm and happiness in it so we don't get uncomfortable 🥰

The tone Kris is speaking in is comfortable in a weird way, I love true crime but if the tone is just a bit off my anxiety acts up but the way Kris is speaking isn’t making my anxiety act up, that’s something Kris is amazing at, giving pure respect for victims and comforting as many people as possible.
I find its cuz Kris speaks matter of fact like. its not the soft tones the others do, or the super serious ones. this i could listen along to and take in the information, if kris keeps this up, should collab with coffee house crimes on things. he speaks this same way as well.

I loved this video, it was really interesting to watch. You’re a great narrator, and you’re able to tell the horrible story well without overdramatizing it
What really makes me angry about this case is the fact that the police stopped searching for victims as soon as Corll surpassed the previous record for known victims. Multiple witnesses came forward with other locations where they had noticed him digging suspiciously including one couple who saw him and his accomplices burying a long parcel on another beach. It makes me angry to think of all of those families who could have gotten closure.
The Candy Man was one of the first serial killers I heard of…there was even a movie about him.
The Horror Movie CandyMan is not based on the real guy. He's a Bloody Mary type character with a hook for a hand.
Unless the movie about this man goes by a different name, then please tell me; because I'm curious about it.
@@IamBardsongWolf I have never watched it…but I remember hearing about it. I don’t like horror movies so it just isn’t something I have ever watched. I always assumed there was a correlation between the the serial killer and the movie! You just taught me something I never knew!

It would be cool if she could bring other people interested in true crime for collabs. They could add their own research and knowledge as well as theories (on unsolved cases) on other true crime stories. Amanda from Smosh often talks about true crime on their podcast, she would be such a good guest on a series like this.
I agree
Agreeee
GUYS let's just absolutely appreciate Jay's epic editing skills!! Honestly Kris you just make my day!! love you and make sure you know you're appreciated!!!!
I am also interested in serial killers and how they come about. Actually it's a combination of bad home conditions (of course some come from good home conditions), predisposition or mainly genes and the fact that quite often these serial killers have some kind of deficiency or disability in the prefrontal lobe of the brain. Because I do know that not everyone who grew up in equally bad conditions becomes a serial killer.
But I still don't condone the actions of serial killers in any way. I only understand why and how they became such monsters.
It's actually nice to see how different youtubers make stories/videos about different serial killers. So thank you for this video. :)
Love this! Would be so awesome to have a whole series on not just the most famous serial murders, but ones that may not have a lot of attention in the news. I love psychology and digging in the minds of why people do and act the way they do.
Absolutely absolutely absolutely horrifying, like the John Wayne Gacy case, can’t even begin to fathom what these boys went through. The fact that some were found with their mouths wide open in the thick plastic sheet afterwards brought me to tears. Great coverage Kris, rest in peace to all of the victims, and I seriously hope this guy is burning in the absolute depths of hell where he experiences the same, somehow even worst pain that he put these innocent boys through.
It honestly makes me think of Richard Ramirez 🤢
I hope the pain he is experiencing right now is 29 times worse than all those boys combined. That story makes me so sick. i cannot believe someone would do that!!!!!

I would love some more deep dives on other serial killers. I had heard of Dean Corll, but I didn't know much about his crimes. I really like the way you presented this case. Yes, you took it seriously, but your own personality was there, which I loved. So many other true crime channels might as well just read the script, like they're reading newspaper articles.
As someone who used to live near Vidor (the way you said it cracked me up btw), Vidor is very much still a sun-down town and a lot of scary shit happens there.
It's crazy to think that most serial killers start off from trauma when they were little caused by parents.
Nope
It would be crazier if they didn't.
i mean yes and no? a ton of kids unfortunately endure trauma at the hands of their parents but that doesn't turn them into serial killers. it's really more nature than nurture, it's just that if you fuck up the nurturing part then the nature really goes ham and you get serial killers.
it's not weird at all, It's both a nature and nurture thing, there are some structures in the brain that handle things like stress and if they are badly formed or broken due to head trauma, cause people to become that brand of monster when they come into contact with such a situation. This is more likely to be a born in issue but there are a lot of reports of serial or spree killers having had a head injury soon before the first time they showed symptoms.
You are absolutely correct, sometimes even criminals tend to have a family crime bloodline while others are originated by severe trauma during their childhood
This is the best example that humans are capable of the most horrific things imaginable. It always terrifies me learning about this kind of stuff. We all know infamous serial killers and watched slasher films. But to really hear about what kinds of people commit these crimes and how horrible they are. It’s horrible and just shows that even though we’re human, if a situation is bad enough like the candy man’s. We are able to be actual demons.
I fkn love this series sm, you have such a captivating and enticing way of telling the story which keeps me interested while also educating me, beautiful
You actually look really beautiful with your glasses. They’re super cute and they totally suit you!
Well done, Kris. This man has been haunting my nightmares for years and years, particularly his torture methods. It surprises me how seldom he comes up in various true crime shows. Maybe that's for the best. Absolute monster.

But all respect to the victims family and sorry that you’ve had to experience all that. Kris explained it perfectly though
IS easy to see the signals when you are outside and thinking as a 2023 human being , so besides the year that this happening and the education about those topics were almost none...
@@ulazerg7163 yeah I totally agree, different time periods but I feel like if John Wayne Gacy was around (caught for killing males that also randomly disappeared) in that time before Dean, someone should have said something or noticed but like you said signs like that was unnoticeable and difficult to see and plus different locations/ states. I think what I was mostly talking about (when I said that the family saw the signs) how the employees at the moms candy factory had told her that something weird was going on with Dean and I think one employee actually said that Dean tried to make advances on him, the employee told the mom and she just didn’t want to believe it and fired the boy. I think before he went into the military, pretty sure that’s right😅. I definitely see what you mean though and I’m glad you wrote it, it’s making the gears in my head turn.
